《Heart Of A Servant》Chapter 37 : Merlin

I woke up in a dark room, my mind fuzzy and ears ringing.
I couldn't remember who I was and it scared me.
As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I saw a light on the horizon.
It looked like a little sun.
I remember I kept asking myself what a sun was despite my ability to compare the light to it.
I simply thought about being closer to the light and like magic I found myself bathing in it.
I had just traveled god knows how many kilometers with a single thought and that scared me as well.
I found a man. A peculiar man sitting cross-legged in the dark void. He had three white eyes out of which came that blinding light I was bathing in.
...and that man's skin was as white as snow.
He wore a blue attire that seemed too fancy.
And most importantly, I looked like a grain of sand in front of the man. He was a colossal giant.
I felt scared for the third time.
The gigantic head then looked down.
"Hello Merlin. Welcome to your second rebirth." I heard in my head. It had been so loud that I almost felt myself exploding.
"Merlin?...is that my name?...no... that's not my name...My name is...Bran." with that realization, I was assaulted by memories I knew all too well. It was like reliving my life for the second time.
I remembered being born in a small village, going to the Magic Academy, becoming one of the most feared existences on that planet.
I remembered being sealed in that damnable copper ring. My adventures with different masters until I met Kyle Brightmoon.
I remembered everything.
Then came the question : Was this the last stop before entering the new world the white bird had promised?

As if having read my thoughts, I heard the giant chuckle.
The giant’s figure then started shrinking and morphing. It became a huge three eyes white bird that kept shrinking until it was roughly as I remembered, twelve inches long.
“So it really was you. Why did you look like a giant human? Was that your true form?” I said.
The white bird had a playful smile as it said, “In here, size doesn’t matter nor is it a representation of reality. From my perspective you were the one who was small… and we’re in my inner world so there’s that.”
“We’re inside your soul right now?” I asked. It was then that it hit me: I was a soul. “Where’s my body now? Where is everybody else.” I asked.
The bird then said, “Well, like the last time we spoke, you’re going to choose how thing will happen this time as well. Last time you chose that I give you a period of 500 years to prepare for the others arrival. It was supposedly to prepare a safe haven for them to arrive in, which I do not understand since the place I prepared for you was a remote universe which has only a single inhabited planet. Plus, that universe is warded against anyone should it be found even by accident. The inhabitants had no knowledge of cultivation and were weak humans who only lived for eighty years at most. At least, that was the way things were before you happened.”
“Before I happened? What did I do during 500 years exactly?”
