《Heart Of A Servant》chapter 38 : Magetech

“What you did during 500 years?” The bird said before it finally answered his question, “Well, you took it upon yourself to break the balance that was already present on that tiny planet and introduced magic just as they had managed to significantly advance in their technology. They started calling you the ‘Lord Of Light’ and other names like ‘The Enlightened One’ and the ‘Lightbringer’. A religion was created just for you.”

The bird then continued, “Those that wanted to dissect you and study you so that they could steal your immortality and powers started to fear you when they finally realized that you were indeed untouchable like a real God. They tried to tarnish your name as they feared you would take over their world that they ruled with an iron fist, but you performed miracle after miracle, healing the sick and eliminating natural disasters. They watched as you took over their world with a heart of gold instead of being a tyrant.”

It was then that I said, “Why don’t you just give me back those 500 years of memories so I can instantly know what I did… Why are they blocked in the first place?”

“Oh, that… You chose to seal them yourself, I had nothing to do with it.” The bird said flustered.

“Why would I do such a thing?” I said.

“Because you wanted to meet your master and disciple with a fresh mind.” The bird said.

“So where are they?” I asked.

“About that…I wanted to know how you will choose the circumstances of their reincarnation.” The Bird said.

“Well, without the knowledge of my 500 years in that world, it would be hard for me to know what to do.” I said.

“You’re right, let’s unseal those memories.”The bird said before its already white eyes flashed a light and Bran felt his mind shudder.

A barrage of new memories then assaulted me. From my early acts of kindness to my acclamation as the world’s greatest Sage.

My bearing changed from a clueless man to a knowledgeable tycoon who had weathered many years.

I then said, “All that bullshit about me being the one to seal my memories when you were the one who did it. Surely, you’re mad about something I did. Why don’t you just tell me what my mistake was? What’s your agenda here? Why are you trying to control me?”

Because, my memories had been sealed by the bird previously, I was starting to be distrustful of the wish granting bird.

…But while I was merely a God and the Bird an Ancient God, I wasn’t afraid of it because it shouldn’t have any reason to go against me.

“Well, that move you did of creating the Magetech using the Empyrean Decree didn’t go well with me. You know there’s a reason why learning Spells is so hard : it is because it asks for true dedication from the disciples. It’s not like the Hallowed Swordsmen who grow fat from eating too much mana, that path is a path for the lazy ones, for those who do not treasure knowledge.” The bird said seriously as it crossed its wings on its chest like a berating parent would.

I remembered the Magetech the bird was talking about. Those who wielded it were called Magitechs.

When I first arrived on that little planet and discovered how their technology was advanced to a level that even I was at a loss for words, I decided to learn their ways as well.

By copying the minds of the entire five billion population into my mind, I learned how it all worked.

Despite being so advanced technologically, they had never learned of the existence of Mana, let alone the elusive Origin Energy.

…And since my mind only knew magic, I couldn’t help but think of fusing both and see what could be the result.

It resulted in the Magetech. A kind of medium that could allow anyone to tap into the reserves of mana and origin energy in the atmosphere to cast spells.

With Magetech, you didn’t need to learn magic as a whole. All you needed was a device that could cast magic for you. You could still go old school and learn magic normally if you wanted, but almost no one took that path because it was too time consuming.

I said, “Well, I wasn’t gonna waste time teaching them magic when there was a better alternative. That Lunatic Arthur Lionheart was the only one who took it seriously and I still don’t regret taking him in as my disciple.”

“That Arthur, huh. You shouldn’t trust him as much as you do.” The bird said.

“I do not care what you see in the future. If he becomes a nuisance, he will be removed.” I flatly said.

Arthur was an orphan and his first acquaintance when he arrived on the little blue planet.

“So, I repeat my question again: How do you want them to be reincarnated?” The Bird asked.

“Let’s start with the parents.” I said, before I contemplated the issue. I continued, “In their memories, they had been captured by the Trost imperial family after barely managing to hide Kyle in an orphanage after his birth. What if we alter their memories a bit and make it so that are about to be captured just as, Jenny Trost, the mother of Kyle is about to give birth to twins?”

“Twins? You want to make it so Kelly is born at the same time as kyle? Alright. If I follow your reasoning,… then you swoop in and save them and then teleport them and then they find themselves on this little blue planet in a place that you prepared for them. Is that it?”the bird said.

“Exactly.” I said.

“Their powers? I imagine that you don’t want them to roam around on this planet with nothing to protect themselves.” The bird said.

“Can you make it so Kyle, keeps the Dark Contract as part of his power? And Kelly keeps his Prime Law of fire as well? Kyle must lose his Dark side completely and must be born as a real baby. He doesn’t need all those painful memories. Kelly however must keep all his memories so he can help me keep an eye on Kyle while they grow up to make sure that there’s no chance of a dark alter ego resurfacing.” I said, not sure that my outrageous demands could be met…but I had faith in the wish granting powers of the white bird.

The bird then sighed and said, “No matter what we do, Kyle will still have an evil alter ego…because the concentration of the Devil clan’s blood in him is too much. His father will be okay even if he ends up as a god with the normal Darkness Law, he will not develop an alter ego since the Devil clan’s blood in him is only enough for him to be in touch with the normal version of the Darkness Prime law.”

The bird then continued, “What we can do, is fuse the Alter ego and the main alter while he’s still a baby. He will become an evil, problem child, but If he is well educated during his early years, he should be okay. He will just grow up to be a tyrant instead of a demon if we are lucky.”

I wanted kyle to have a good and memorable childhood with his parents. But now, It couldn’t be done?

F*ck!

And what was all that bullshit about the Devil Clan?

What a half baked servant does that make me if I can’t succeed in making my master happy.

It was then that an idea came to me. I asked the bird, “Can you also add the Prime Law of Light with the Empyrean Decree in him? Surely, with the Light law, he can become normal by balancing his evil and good side.”

“For that to work in a body with the Devil clan’s bloodline, he’d need the bloodline of an Empyrean for that to work. I can’t believe I overlooked such a simple solution. In fact, those two bloodlines can’t coexist together but if wish for it, it should be okay.” The bird said.

“Let’s get to work then.”
