A door opened, as a small child walked into the room and looked at the man. They rubbed their eyes, before letting out a yawn.

"Dad, are you about to look for work?" asked the small girl as she walked over to him. She let out a faint cough as she stretched.

"Yes," the man lied as he looked at the girl, "I'll be back before you know it."

"Is there anything you want me to get you on my way back?" the man asked.

The girl shook her head, as she looked at the man, "No, if it means you can get somebody to help mom sooner."

The man let out a bittersweet smile, as he looked at the girl.

"Alright... Well, I'll be off," the man said as he looked at the girl once more, "Don't worry I'll be careful."

The door was quietly shut as the man left, his daughter, turning around she swiftly rushed back into the other room.

Her mother is sick...

Her father is unemployed...

They don't even have food every day...

I didn't like that cough their daughter had either...

Well then, let's start with the unemployment problem.

At a brisk pace, I walked around in search of the tavern. The dirt road that was paved near the slumps of the city soon reached the brick paths as I continued to walk. More people were now outside, I noticed as I neared buildings closer to the center of the kingdom. As I looked up at the sign with a cup of ale etched into the wood of the sign I knew this was the place. As I opened the door a few men looked at me and let out a tch before getting back to their drink.

"Julius!" the bartender called out to me, "What can I get for you?"

"You know I'm bad at directions," I spoke, looking the bartender in the eyes, "Could you please direct me towards the local guild?"

"Wow you forgot?" the bartender laughed, "Though it has been years since we took any missions."

"Take a left and then a right," the bartender said as he continued to clean an ale mug.

"Thanks," I replied as I shut the door and left.

"Welcome to the adventurer's guild," a receptionist said looking at Julius, "How may I assist you?"

"Do you have any goblin extermination requests?" Julius replied.

"Currently only one, but are you sure you want to venture alone?" the receptionist asked looking at Julius as if he had gone insane.

"I'll be okay," he answered as he snatched the parchment that gave instructions to the location.

The damp cave filled the air, as the sun continued to beat upon Julius. He was now at the entrance of the cave, as he wandered in. A few scraping sounds could be heard before a torch was lit. Julius yawned as he began his descent within the cave. A musk-like smell filled the air, as he journeyed farther within the cave. At this point, the sun could no longer be used as a source of light within the cave. A few snickers and grumbles could be heard from farther within the cave as Julius continued to scramble down. A small green goblin wandered out, as it began to hear the scuffing of Julius' boots.

It pulled its bow back, as it placed an arrow on the bowstring. Another snicker could be heard from the goblin as it released the string. The arrow flew past Julius' head as he rushed towards the small creature. The goblin screeched in surprise, as Julius jumped at it slamming his fist into its face. The bow hit the ground, as the goblin began to squeal in pain. It jolted, and waved its arms back and forth, trying to get out of Julius' grip, but to no avail. Making one last attempt, the goblin used its last bit of energy to break out but shortly stopped as it died.

Getting up, Julius grabbed the goblin's bow and quiver of arrows, as he loaded an arrow. Briskly he continued to trek farther into the cave. Two more arrows were fired, as two goblins charged towards Julius. The goblins quickly fell after, their weapons hitting the ground. Picking up a sword dropped from one of the goblins, Julius tossed the spear the other goblin dropped along with the bow and quiver at the wall as he continued.

Crackling sounds could be heard, from a nearby campfire, as Julius tread towards the sound of it. More goblins began to appear but were swiftly cut down, as Julius threw the weapons near the wall. Reaching the end, Julius entered the final part of the cave. A campfire burned in the middle of the room, other miscellaneous items lying around the room.

Julius slowly peeked his head out to look at how many goblins were in the room. Around ten more goblins resided within the room, as Julius tossed a rocked towards the entrance near him. A few words could be heard from the little green creatures that Julius, couldn't understand before two goblins walked out. The goblins were quietly killed, as goblins began to talk again. At this time, they had figured out something was there, and all ran out charging at Julius.

Grunts of struggle and pain could be heard as the goblins fell one by one before Julius walked into the room. Shards from pots made scratching sounds, along with the scuffing of Julius' boots as he looked around for anything valuable. He sighed, as he left the room and gathered up all the weapons from the goblins. Cutting off a few ears from the dead goblins, he waltzed out with all the weapons as he began his journey back to the guild.

"As expected of an ex-adventurer!" the receptionist smiled as she slide a pouch of coins across the table, "Four silver coins, as promised!"

"Thanks," Julius replied as he left the guild.
