I appeared in the middle of the spawn area which was the middle of the city. I looked around and saw the streets were much emptier than usual, which I found confusing. With the game and headset being on sale, you would image there being a boom in population.

Not thinking too much of it, walking down the streets and towards the exit of the city. On the way out, I looked at the old style house that reminded me of the medieval era. At least that was until I saw some people sport a bit of magical tech. Why the creator made the settings from the past, yet have futuristic aspect is unbeknownst to me.

While making my way down I pulled up my status screen to check my stats one final time.

I gently scratched my chin and inspected my stats. From just a quick look, it obvious that I would be best fitted for a rouge. But in previous games, I always attempted to go down the path of a magical swordsman. I never been a rouge or assassin, but I didn't want to try either. Using magic during the training room felt great, making it very tempting for a full-on mage build.

"if i remember correctly, we dont have to follow the standard classes, and can actually create our own. but no one so far as been able to do it" I said to myself

Walking through the city gate, I was greeted with an open grassy field. There were a few other people outside hunting the starting monster, smiles. While in other games this may seem boring because of how simple it is, seeing it from this point of view is exciting. I grabbed my starting sword out of my inventory and went over to an area with no one around.

Passing by me was a group of games talking amongst but loud enough that others could still hear.

"Im excited, the 13 royals are going to be picked" a girl exclaimed excited

"What! that's today?" another guy said with shock "I can't wait who get the top, I placed money"

"So did I, The Tyrant is definitely going to be first" Another guy with heavy armor, probably a tank, said

"Are you insane? its definitely going to be the Aurther, he is the immovable wall. he is the best tanker in the game" the first girl spoke up

The group continued on like this until they were out of earshot. The selection of the 13 royals was today. meaning we were going to be told who the top 13 players around the world were going to be and who was going to be allowed to build a city around their guild. They are meant to lead their guild and overtake the other royals until the last one remains, making him King and gets any wish fulfilled, weather it something in-game or out. After that, a new 13 would be selected and the process repeats. I didnt care for it as much, since top gamers now and day were usually asshole pricks that did everything they wanted.

I kept walking forward, passing groups of people fighting slimes, getting their level past the miserable 1. I would start doing the same, but I didnt want to get into the boring grind of leveling up yet. Once I got a different weapon, then I would head out and level up. It took almost ten minutes before I reached an area that had randomly spawned ore on the edge of the cave entrance.

"Well, I have to get started somewhere," I said taking out the pickaxe that I obtained earlier today for this very purpose and started mining.
