《How I Slayed A Dragon》Chapter 26

(Aug 22 continued)
William's ice attack was still spreading across the entire field, and soon it would cover the entire ground leaving Briggs with no place to stand on and if nothing was done, Briggs would also be affected by the ice.
Briggs stared intensely at the spreading ice and then at William, he lifted his greatsword into the air and filled it to the brim with his curse chakra until it was overflowing with it.
He plunged the greatsword into the ground and then he jumped on top of his greatsword so that he was no longer touching the ground.
If the ice were to try to spread onto his greatsword, Brigg's curse chakra would melt it and since Briggs is standing on his greatsword and not touching the ground anymore, he would safe. Although this does remove a lot of his mobility.
Since his greatsword was massive, there was enough space on the hilt of it for him to be on and Briggs crouched as he was on his greatsword.
By now the entire field was turned into William's special ice and the only place unaffected by it was William himself and Brigg's greatsword with Briggs crouching on top of the greatsword.
William waved his staff and a bunch of ice spikes shot up from the ground towards Briggs which causes Briggs to leap into the air, pulling his greatsword out of the ground along with him and with a swing of his greasword, he slashed at the ice spike that were trying to stab him smashing it all apart.
Before Briggs landed, he threw his greatsword into the ground which Briggs landed on without touching the ice infected ground.
Briggs bent his back, lowering his head down low and he twisted his body around his greatsword like a pole dancer around a pole except the pole is a greatsword instead which looks... extremely creepy and weird and sent shivers down my back...
In an instant, Briggs released a massive amount of magic and charged forward by jumping off of his greatsword like a rocket but also dragging his greatsword along with him towards William.

Despite Briggs being extremely quick, William created a mini ice explosion in front of himself which propelled him away from Briggs allowing him to easily dodge it.
Briggs shot past where William was and crashed right into the wall of the battlefield, but instead of landing on the ground he shoved his fingers into the wall creating holes into it and stuck onto the wall like a monkey so he wouldn't touch the ice ground.
He knew that touching the ground was going to be dangerous so he would have to do everything he can to avoid touching the ground even if that meant clinging onto a wall.
Briggs put his greatsword into his mouth in between his teeth and held the entire weight of the greatsword with just his jaw strength.
I could see the madness in his eyes as he was slowly deteriorating into his berserker form again and his black curse miasma was leaking out of him.
Briggs was clinging onto the wall like a madman while still not not touching the ground at all and he started running along the walls, shoving his fingers and feet into the walls creating holes into it as he ran leaving a trail of holes and cracks behind him.
As he ran along the walls he still had his greatsword in his mouth, slicing anything that got into the blade's way and he was running like a wolf but sideways on the walls.
William however, was in the center of the field and not near the walls at all. He was chanting a spell and was gathering his magic while Briggs was doing this.
Briggs eventually noticed William was up to something and stopped running, he bent his legs and shot forward towards the center where William was at but William dodged out of the way, while still chanting his spell. Briggs flew straight past William completely missing and smashed into the wall on the opposite side of the field.
Briggs clung onto the wall again and stabilize himself, and then he leapt towards William again like before in a straight line and also like before William dodged out of the way.

This repeated many times, Briggs would leap from one side of the walls towards William but William would just dodge and when Briggs hit the wall on the other side he would do it again, and he kept leaping from one side of the arena to the other.
This happened so fast Briggs looked like a beam of light flashing between reflections, except the reflections were just the walls and Briggs was just so fast he was a blur that looked like a beam of light.
However William would impressively continue to dodge Briggs despite his flash like speed.
And then it happened...
When William finished his spell, a massive ice meteor appeared in the sky... it was massive... A humongous ice meteor the size of multiple houses suddenly materialized itself above the arena and slowly descended towards the us.
All of the A ranked and B rankers along with other hundreds of mages and magicians worked together to create a magic barrier to protect the crowd and the city from the ice meteor but even despite all that we wasn't sure if the barrier would be able to withstand the impact of the ice meteor.
At full force the meteor would probably be able to destroy the entire kingdom...
But William wasn't dumb, he knew how destructive the ice meteor was and he wasn't going to destroy the city with it just for this little battle.
The meteor flashed all of a sudden and the meteor exploded breaking into millions of ice chunks and shard pieces.
it was dazzling to watch as millions of tiny glowing ice pieces started falling from the sky along with a bunch of ice shards and chunks, however suddenly all the ice pieces halted and froze in midair as they were now under William full control.
William slammed his staff into the ground and the moment he did, all the ice chunks and shards shot towards Briggs like an artillery strike at insane speeds but with millions upon millions of ice pieces.
Briggs immediately realized he was in danger and he grabbed his greatsword with both hands and shoved it into the ground like a shovel, and with a single lift he heaved up a massive portion of the ground itself to act as a shield for him.
The falling ice shards and chunks bombarded the entire field creating thousands of holes and craters in the ground.
The wall that Briggs made out of lifting up the ground was also being hit by a lot of falling ice pieces and slowly holes and cracks appeared on it as it was slowly breaking apart...
The ice bombardment continued and the wall that Briggs made broke apart and Briggs faced the full force of the fall ice shards.
Briggs raised his arms and his greatsword to protect himself from the falling ice and braced himself for impact.
BAM! BOOM! BAM! BAM! CLANG! WHAM! WHOOPH! BOOM! WHAM! CLASH!
Briggs was stabbed and pierces, cut and bruised by thousands of ice pieces.
Flesh was torn off, chunks of meat splattered the ground and the ice was stained with Brigg's blood.
Eventually after a whole minute or so the ice stopped falling and the entire field looked like the moon with a bunch of holes and craters... in the center of it all was Briggs, who was bleeding, battered and beaten up.
Briggs looked half dead, it was surprising to see him even standing and if it were anyone else they'd be dead ten times over.
I could see parts of his flesh laying on the ground and his entire body, head to toe, was bleeding.
However this match was far from over, in fact it was just getting started.
Brigg's black curse miasma rose from his body into the air and the black miasma engulfed Briggs and from the black miasma, a pair glowing red eyes flashed...
Briggs had fully entered his berserk mode.

Anti-Hero: Journey of Fear
There is a story where the hero makes friends, completes quests, and saves the world. This is NOT that story. In the VR world of Fate: Experience Acute Realism, the main character cuts his way through both the players and NPCs alike. This story takes a close look at how a true full immersion VR would be played. The setting is an open VR world where the players struggle to survive with a lack of knowledge and the NPCs panic in regards to the Travelers invading their world. The anti-hero of this story is cold and calculating. Sparing no one from his reign of terror he gives into occasional bouts of kindness before he is forced back on the path of blood and tears. For where there is a hero who seeks to bring people together to help the world move forward, there is an anti-hero who brings people together to seize the world for himself. WARNING: This story contains extreme violence, in every single chapter. This story contains references to sex, but no explicit scenes. This story has light to mild swearing. My chapters normally range from 4,000 to 5,000 words. This story does not contain happy endings, middles, or even beginnings.
