《Even in the afterlife, I still hate mondays ...》Prologue - Waiting in line with good old Mark

Now introducing my new ghostly pastime :
Waiting in line for an extremely long amount of time, all in hope of getting one day reincarnated from the floaty soul, bedside lamp, state.
Personal record currently around three months and still counting.
Yaaiii …
Well, at least, I’m back to being eco-friendly *sigh*
Also, that joke is getting old and boring, like me, so let’s drop it.
Now let’s fill you in on the whole situation here.
After good old me fell from the survey room, I went back to the floaty soul state and I have been waiting in line since then.
Exciting, right ? ...
Fortunately, I kept the ability to move and communicate with the whole collection of friendly lamp down here. Like Mark.
“Hi Mark !” I said cheerfully
“For the last time, creep, go fuck yourself !”
Ah, just good old friendly Mark. *sigh*
Now, you may be wondering why Mark is such a grumpy fella.
Well turns out Mark doesn’t like waiting and tried to pass in front of everyone. He was thus beaten up and sent to the very back of the line with good old me that just happened to be in the way.
So, as you can guess, I am now further away from reincarnation than I was three months ago.
But I got Mark with me and that, ladies and gentleman, is amazing.
Of course, since that brawl was already three days ago, there is now a very long line behind us.
So I still got more people to talk to, like Janine right behind me.
“Hi Janine !” I said cheerfully once more
“...” As expected, no answer except a grumpy expression.
As you can see, Janine won’t speak much *sigh* but she is still a very nice old lady which is probably equally as tired of my shit as Mark.

Now, you may be wondering how floaty soul can brawl with each other and send other to the back of a line. Well, turns out the talented people among us can modify the shape of their floaty soul to anything they want and use that to beat the shit out of people who just happened to stand there.
And since, as you might have expected, I have the chance to be part of the group of loser who can’t figure how to do that, at all. I am proud to announce that my currently most efficient defensive method is to literally ram people with all my soul until they pass out.
Or until I pass out, since that shit fucking hurts…
But let us stay positive, at least while running away from scary people/soul I learned that floaty me shouldn't be afraid of asthmatic outbreaks. I don’t have lungs you see, so am I completly free to run around in this immense white space. Losing my place in the line while I’m at it.
But you don’t know the very best, all this shit doesn’t really matter since we are repeatedly overtaken by thousands of stronger souls who don’t give a shit about an old man’s feeling. Thus why we haven’t moved much during the past three days.
Seriously, all that’s changed since then is that there are now more people behind us. The number of people in front of us probably hardly changed at all. Not like I can really tell anyway, this infinite white space seriously lacks landmarks ...
Thus I am now in a position where I don’t want to lose a spot that, in all likelihood, is hardly worth keeping. *sigh*
But fear not, for there is a sliver of hope ! If I can train my soul until I, too, am able to do tricky shapeshifting magic, then it would be my turn to be a dick to people and take their position in line. Finally accessing what is rightly mine.

Sounds nice right ? Well, there is a quick in the quack. To increase the strength of one’s soul, there is only one possible mean.
You guessed it, reincarnation ! … Yup, just my luck again ...
Ah and that comes with the loss of your current personality while you're at it, since it’s a prerequisite to reincarnation. You know, so that people don’t end up crazy after living thousands upon thousands of lives.
At best, the current state of your soul would be used as a base for a new you to grow… But that’s if you’re lucky ...
So, to be honest, I am not very eager to be reincarnated given those conditions ...
However, I am very eager to leave this place as soon as possible.
Sooo, guess we are back to enjoying our new pastime for the next few hundreds of years …
*sigh*
But hey, at least, I still got Mark !
“Right Mark ?”
“Shut up already !”
Yeah Mark, that’s right, and fuck you too.
