《Rise of the Forgotten》Ch.4 Ascension and History Pt.2

When that first portal opened other portals also opened across the galaxy. These portals opened to places later dubbed, Sub-Spaces. These Sub-Spaces contained places where the laws of physics were bent and played with. These Sub-Spaces were rich in new materials, different types of ores and minerals of unique properties. Sadly while these Sub-Spaces were filled with new opportunities, they also brought with them new dangers. Some spaces were filled indigenous life forms that were extremely hostile and deadly. Other spaces had deadly environments and places where gravity was whimsical and black holes could appear out of seemingly nowhere.
While the insides of the Sub-Spaces were dangerous, that was only on the inside. Lifeforms would stay inside and the dangerous physics wouldn't affect the outside. The true danger that came with the opening of the portals were what's called Anomalous Spatial Lifeforms, or Anomalies. These creatures would appear out of seemingly nowhere and caused devastation.
During this time entire planets had to be evacuated because of the Anomalies. It wasn't until weeks later of constant retreat to core worlds and hundreds of millions of deaths that weapons were created. These were capable of successfully killing these anomalies, where other weapons could only hold them off. These were called the AR-0001, otherwise known as Anomaly Rectifiers.
With the creation and mass production of these weapons homes were brought back, and revenge for the fallen was achieved. After this incident vast fleets of Star Cruisers were then produced to patrol the galaxy and kill any anomalies that appeared.
Once this was done exploration of the Sub-Spaces were then conducted. These Expeditions were each led by the Third Alpha. During these expeditions vast amounts of these spaces were discovered and vast amounts of resources were brought back. These spaces were also discovered to be able to shorten distances between places in the Main Space.
Once this was discovered in combination with ships that warped space with their Warp Engines vast distances were able to be crossed easily. After this was discovered the Third Alpha went to have expeditions to other galaxies to either expand the Empire or find new cultures to ally with. The Third Alpha died a few thousand years later after spreading the Empire to several nearby galaxies. They were called The Alpha of Exploration and Innovation, Alpha Melsmian Omega.
To the right of the Third Alpha is the Fourth Alpha. He was born 2000 years after the Third died. He was the biggest disappointment of our entire race. For some reason he was irrational and arrogant during nearly his entire life. He thought that the galaxies that we had a foothold in were all his and that he was the rightful ruler of them all. With our most advanced technologies and a vast army and navy behind him he led multiple wars against the inhabitants of other galaxies. To him you either surrendered and became part of the Empire or died in the fires of war.

Even though these galaxies put up fierce resistance against his campaign he won almost every single one. It wasn't until his forces were spread too thin across the vast galaxies that his campaign began to halt and stall. This was the biggest flaw of our species. The Omegians had a loyalty that seemed to be a part of their very being that made them extremely loyal to their Alpha. They could talk back and offer opinions to the Alpha if they thought that their decisions were unwise, but ultimately they would listen and follow orders.
The other races might not have agreed, and even outnumbered the Omegians 20 to 1 on the lowest case, but when even the 'weakest' and 'lowest' of our race was worth 40 of your race you tended to agree with the absolute best of that race. Eventually an event known as the first Anomalous Wave happened. The Anomalous Wave was when there was an absolute horde of the Anomalies. This happened at the newly conquered parts of the Empire.
When this happened entire sectors were lost. The Alpha and his forces had to retreat and leave the newly conquered territory to fend for themselves. They were pushed back all the way back to their home galaxy after losing little more than half of his forces. After reaching the Empires home galaxy he pulled all forces to confront the coming tide. When the tide came there was a fierce battle that raged for years. After two decades had passed the Empire had lost 2/6 of its territory.
The tide was still going strong. After losing vast amounts of his territory and people the Fourth Alpha ruminated on his actions and decisions. After days of isolation and self reflection he found out that his mind had been subtly influenced by an unknown energy. After getting the best scientific minds across the Empire he tasked them with finding out what this energy was.
After weeks of searching they found out that the energy was being introduced to the universe by the Sub-Spaces. After finding this out they tried to harness the energy and succeeded. They called it Universal Energy. After this they found out that this energy could be absorbed to enhance themselves in body, mind, and spirit. Once this was found out multiple years played out trying to find out the most optimal way to absorb this energy.
Once the optimal way was found out the Fourth absorbed vast amounts of this energy to the point that his body was destabilizing. Once he saw the development and felt the vast amounts of power in his body he took a personal ship toward the place with the largest amount of anomalies. There he flew his ship to the heart of them and while absorbing vast amounts of the energy all the while, detonated himself and all the energy he absorbed saying that this was his redemption for his acts. There were no survivors.

He was the first Alpha to die to an outside force. After that various methods of absorbing and utilising the energy were developed and the Tide was destroyed and planets returned to the Empire. He lived only a few dozen years, he was The Redeemed and Sacrificed Alpha, Alpha Rendius Omega.
To the left of the Second was the Fifth Alpha. He was born several hundred years after the Fourths death. When he was born it let out a wave of Universal Energy that could be felt all across the Empire, which inhabited multiple galaxies at this point. If we were to put the Alphas on a power scale up to this point then the 5th was at the top of that list. During his early years he developed multiple new technologies. He also was able to absorb vast amounts of the UE(universal energy) with ease vastly increasing the strength of his body mind and soul/spirit. He also was able to crystallize the UE and use it as an efficient and clean energy.
Later on he made an abandoned planet into what he called the Imperial Library. It stored hard copies of all the data in the Empire. All of the history and knowledge of the Empire and its people was stored here. He also was able to make his own Sub-Space to house the A.I. that monitored the Empire. With that it was able to expand and evolve itself with little limitation. It was able to sustain itself and upgrade and maintain itself. It would forever remain loyal to the Alpha once he gave it its name, something that no one ever considered.
He named it Erendial, The Eternal Watcher. From then on he expanded the Empire even further to other galaxies helping societies nearing collapse and saving species nearing extinction. Later on he would make an Educational World. This world along with its moon would become the greatest educational facility in the entire galaxy. Later on he would develop multiple more of these worlds, naming the best one where the most hardworking and brilliant minds, The Alpha Academy World.
As the Empire continued to expand, meeting new life and other societies, they met their greatest rival and enemy, The Humanis. While still behind the Empire in almost every front they exceeded it in sheer manpower. The Humanis when pushed into a corner could become extremely dangerous and when they found out that the Empire was largely responsible for the Anomalies they became outraged. They tried to turn the Empire's allies and population against it to no avail. After all the Empire both saved their society's and species, while also bringing them to even greater heights.
After seeing their failure and knowing that they couldn't hope to beat the Empire alone they seeked other intergalactic nations. After hundreds of years of waiting and gathering allies from across the universe that joined either for the technology, the people, the territory, or a variety of other reasons the Humanis and their allies attacked the Empire and its allies.
The Humanis launched a sneak attack all across the borders of the Empire and its allies. Vast fleets of Warships were attacking any and all planets. Billions died within hours. Entire planets razed to the ground with no survivors. Various weapons were used, some relatively tame others extremely horrible. The Alpha was furious at the actions of the Humanis Alliance of Nations. He immediately ordered construction of Warships, weapons and armour. It was time for war.
After ordering his fleets to move and intercept the invaders he put out a call to his people to protect their nation and homes. Trillions of people after finding out what happened were enraged. A vast amount were conscripted and sent to training. An Intergalactic Empire was going to war.
Before the fleets of the Empire could intercept the invading fleet dozens of planets had fallen. Their population were either dead, imprisoned or shipped off to somewhere else. When the fleets of the Empire intercepted the Invaders they were surprised. The Empire's fleets had formed seemingly out of nowhere. When the fleets arrived they unleashed their wrath. Dozens of ships were destroyed within moments. The enemy fleets quickly unleashed everything that they could at them. Missiles, lasers, material projectiles, nuclear bombs, drones, fighters, etc. Everything they had was launched. It was a fierce battle. The Empire's fleet, while large and very advanced, was still outnumbered 50 to 1. Those numbers helped the enemy greatly. Still the Empire's fleets prevailed. The enemy fleet was either destroyed, disabled, or fled.
The Empire did not come out of it unscathed. Only a tenth of each of the fleets survived. Sometimes quantity helped even the odds against quality. Still the Empire had shown its power. Even being outnumbered vastly and having hastily prepared fleets trumped the invading fleets power.
The Empire had won the first confrontation.

Please note: the Sexual Content tag is there due to a single brief plot-relevant scene, which has a warning at the beginning. For other details, read the full description below. Rating breakdown, since that should be public info: 5 x 5*, 2 x 4.5*, 1 x 0.5* During a blackout, a frail and ragged old woman stops to ask for a glass of water from a backyard barbecue party. Given a good supper instead, she looks around the group, and tells them, "Be who and what you truly are." Days later, seven of the people from the barbecue find themselves drawn into a trap laid by a pair of wizards and their accomplices, who kidnap them into a bubble reality. All seven, who have known each other all their lives, are informed that they are not in fact entirely human: they have active fae blood, due to a series of conditions culminating with the blessing of the elderly fae woman. The transformation into fae form comes as a shock: all seven, whether originally female or male, find themselves now unreasonably beautiful women. More urgent even than that, though, is their captivity. Getting back to the real world is a higher priority than this metamorphosis that rapidly begins to feel natural... but this is only the first step, as the diverse types of fae blood they carry begin to surface. With no resources except themselves, how can they escape this prison? If they succeed, how can they possibly reclaim their lives? Just how many other faelings have been kidnapped, anyway, and what happened to them? And is there a way to make sure that their captors never put anyone else through this? Back in the real world, Kayla, who learned long ago to trust her gut instincts, is absolutely certain that something is very wrong. The pattern in the list of missing friends is easy to spot, but makes no sense at all. Then a young woman turns up at the backyard gate who knows more than she should, and even though her explanation makes even less sense, every instinct tells Kayla that Riley is her only way to get them back. If they're not quite what they were, well, that's a bridge to cross later... Just a little note: I'm a big believer in endings that are upbeat but not candy-coated, and not a fan of grim-and-gritty or of glamorized violence. These are adults in a difficult situation. However, no one gets raped, and the physical violence is, all things considered, fairly minimal. There is some harassment, sexual and otherwise, and also some mild restraint and mild verbal abuse. Complicating factors are generally wizardly or fae in nature. If I need to warn you about gender in this being all over the map, some of it reality-based rather than fantasy-based, highly diverse sexuality, or that there is (especially later) some indirect fetish/BDSM imagery and honest character discussion, then you probably should just avoid everything I write. :-) Also available on Scribble Hub.
