It's Thursday.
Over the few days, you had been planning with Lizzy regarding her confession. Should she give Leon chocolates? Maybe a letter? You had suggested all types of ways to confess yet she shot down every single one of it, annoying you to no end.
Right now, you were in the library waiting for Lizzy to make up her mind on how to confess to Leon. You felt a pang of jealously in your heart every once in a while but you ignored it with a smile, writing down all the possible ways Lizzy would want to confess for her.
You sighed and looked towards your school bag, which was lying on the floor. There was a dirty stain since someone you encountered during lunch deliberately spilled their soup on you. You luckily dodged, but your bag wasn't as lucky.
As of lately, there have been people that decided that you would be their next target to play with for some reason. A group with a female called Monika fucking Hayer and her stupid idiotic buddies. It honestly didn't make sense to you. Did you anger Monika and her friends in some way? You thought back into past, searching your mind for memories.
Oh, right. You had ratted them out a long time back.
It didn't matter though. 'It'll probably end in a few days,' you ignored it, not letting it get to you. Instead, you continued to think back on the progress you made with Grace. The two of you have grown much closer together and honestly, it felt like she was there for you even more than Lizzy was.
After the meeting in the toilet, the two of you texted after school and realized that you had lots of things in common with her! Coincidentally, she was in the same toilet as you were on the next day.
"Seems like we have the same taste in toilets," Grace joked. You were inside one of the stalls, laughing.
Back to the task at hand, you continued to look through possible ways but wait. Isn't Lizzy supposed to be doing it?
"Lizzy, aren't you supposed to be doing it yourself?" You turned towards her, and found out she was scrolling though social media which made you angry.
"Dude. This isn't my job, why am I doing all your work?" You dropped the pen in an abrupt matter. Lizzy, however, didn't seem fazed at all.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, Y/N. I already figured it out one hour ago." You blew your head.
"Then why didn't you tell me?! I spent time wasted on thinking over nothing if you've already figured it out!" She pouted.
"I still need you to accompany me though." She didn't even apologize!
"Where and how are you going confess?"
"I was thinking at the beginning lunch in a private place like the corner next to the chemistry lab, near Leon's locker?" You ran your fingers through your hair. It was actually happening. Whatever. You could get over this.
After all, he's no different to the others.
"Whatever." You were still angry at her. Taking your bag, you went down the stairs and she followed.
"I'll take you back home." Was all she said.
The two of you muttered a quiet 'bye' before getting off her car and entering your house. You wasted one hour of your life over helping someone confess to your crush.

'How can you say he's yours? You don't own him or anything.' You huffed at your mind. You'll do what you want.
A moment after you entered, you dropped your bag on the table and greeted your mother. F/N still wasn't home yet so you had the TV all to yourself for now. Looking at the time, you limited yourself to 30 minutes of television since you still had work to do, spending the rest of the time watching an episode of F/A. You were tempted to head to the next episode but over the years, you have developed self restriction to things like these.
Work was work. You didn't like the idea of it, but you sometimes enjoyed doing it. Time whizzed by and it was already time for you to sleep. Should you go support her confession? As a friend, you felt entitled to but as someone who likes that person, you felt uneasy.
Breathing in and out slowly on your bed, you slowly fell asleep.
"Leon... I just wanted to say, I love your kindness, the way you smile and blush, and... I love you!"
Lizzy's face was flushed with embarrassment as she shyly gave the box of chocolate in her hands to Leon. The first thing you though was 'damn, is this some kind of anime?' but then you realized that the person she was confessing to was Leon.
Turning towards him, you looked to see his reaction to her declaration of love. His face was dusted pink as well as he smiled widely. "I-I like you t-too!" The Leon stepped towards Lizzy, with the look of pure adoration clear in their eyes. The two closed their eyes and swooped into a passionate kiss. All you could do was stare as your heart broke piece by piece.
You turned away, feeling your tears come out and walked off.
You slowly opened your eyes. They were a bit sticky from the dried tears so you rubbed them off, recalling the dream you had. You should definitely move on from him. There was no point fretting over unrequited love. You should've listened to yourself before and continue to avoid him. You cursed and pinched yourself to snap out of your negative thoughts.
'It's today.'
Shit. All you could think about today was her confession. It's been occupying your head too much. In three minutes, it will be lunch and you have yet to see Lizzy since the second period.
'Should I go?' You still had a grudge against Lizzy, and although Lizzy told you to come, you still believed that these matters should be dealt with alone. Plus, you didn't want to see her confessing like the dream. But at the same time, Lizzy was trusting you to go.
You nibbled your lip nervously before finally deciding to accompany your best friend. Wait. But you still had to go to your own locker. Currently, your brain was coming up with every excuse not to go, similar to when you procrastinate. And you succumbed to it. You walked to your locker, almost the opposite direction of Leon's and walked slowly to drag out time. Because that would totally slow the confession from happening.
You placed your notes in your locker as slowly as you can, doing the same with the notes you needed for your next subject.
"Yo, Y/N, what are you doing?" The familiar voice of Grace Patterson, your newest friend resounded through the empty halls. She jogged up to you. "You as slow as a turtle."
You laughed and lowered your voice as you talked. "Well... the thing I talked about when we first met is happening today. Lizzy asked me to accompany her."

She wrinkled her nose. "Huh. What a coincidence. I bet she planned it."
"Lizzy's a good friend! She would never do that!" Probably.
"You want me to go with you?" You thought about it.
"I guess..." You snorted at the situation. Lizzy was bringing you for her support and you were bringing Grace for your own. You and your new friend walked to where Lizzy was supposed to be confessing.
And there they were. He was wearing loose clothing like he always did, with blue ripped jeans.
What you saw shattered your heart to pieces.
Oh god, it happened.
She's finally made her move.
With your best friend's lips placed on Leon's, you realized that Lizzy never needed you to proclaim her love, she always had confidence in herself. Why would she bring you? The said girl had already gone far enough without you.
'Abort mission. Abort mission!' Your mind screamed. Your body however, could not move at all. It felt like you were paralysed, that your body was made of stone.
You couldn't hear them from afar but seeing them was all you needed to know about the situation. You counted how long it stayed like this, as Lizzy grasped both sides of Leon's arms and pulled him towards her eagerly.
1...
Leon was still there.
2...
He's not doing anything. He must like it.
3-
Grace pulled you roughly out of your trance, taking your hand and ran. The two of you ran until it you saw the familiar toilet. You've never felt so relieved in your life. But at the same time, you felt your heart breaking all over again.
Tears trickled down your voice as you sobbed silently, trying to muffle the sounds coming out of your mouth with your hand. Stupid heart. Stupid love. Stupid Lizzy. Stupid Leon.
"Fuck, dude, I should've convinced you not to go. I'm so sorry." Grace rubbed your arm comfortingly.
'I knew it. He doesn't like me. He's never liked me.'
"It's okay, Grace. I should've known that he was never into me in the first place. It was just me overthinking. Plus, you don't see boys fawning over me every day, do you? I really need a reality check." You laughed bitterly before switching back to crying.
'Stupid stupid stupid stupid stupid-'
And it stayed like this for the next 10 minutes. Just you, Grace, and the sound of your pathetic sobs.
"I hate love. I hate crushes. Maybe I should just turn lesbian, there might be a likelier chance of someone liking me or something." You sniffled, wiping the final tears.
Grace barked out a laugh. "What kind of logic is that?"
You shrugged. You felt a lot better now. You may not be over him, but the best thing to do for now is to focus on healing yourself.
"Y/N, if you ever want to leave or avoid your friends, or you need someone to talk to, just text me or give me a call. Alright?" You nodded like a child to their parent. "Oh, and if you want to sit with me at lunch, I'm always sitting outside in the bleachers with my other friends."
"I think I'll be joining you for the next few days or so." You told her. She smiled and punched your shoulder lightly.
"You go, girl." Suddenly, her eyes lit up in realization. "Oh yea! To get over your crush, you can totally come to the party my friend is hosting. His name is Alec. He's like, a totally friendly dude. Gets a little wild sometimes. Although there will be alcohol and shit like that, you can just decide not drink and stuff."
You contemplated over it. You've never been to a party. Did you want to go to experience what it's like for once? Yes. Did you want to move on from Leon? Yes. But will there be potential drunk rapists? Probably.
"Uh, I'll think about it. It's not really my jam but I heard it's quite interesting." Grace nodded understandingly.
"Perfect, I'll send you the address. Do you want me to stay with you for now or do you want to go to class?"
You shook your head frantically. The last thing you want would be to burden her or lose her as a friend because you were so clingy. "It's fine. I'll head to class now. See you... bro." You imitated her shoulder punch weakly.
"That does NOT suit you at all." She chuckles. "But you'll get better. Bye!" Grace walked away to who knows where whilst you went in the other direction. From your vision, you saw Leon speed walking towards your direction from down the hallway, but not seeing you yet. Your heart was beating. You didn't want to confront him now!
"No no no no." You quickly jogged the opposite direction until you came across a hiding place behind the locker. You stood there quietly until you heard Leon's distressed footsteps fade away. You let out a breath. You didn't want to confront them now.
Crap! But you were going to see them after school when Lizzy picks you up. You clumsily pulled your phone out and texted your mom.
You: Mom
You: Can you pick me up after school
Your mother responded a minute later or so.
Mom: Is there something wrong?
What were you going to say? That your heart has just been broken by someone who you weren't even dating? Well, actually, maybe you were going to say that.
You: Leon and Lizzy started dating.
You hoped she got the message. There was a small pause. The three dots indicated she was typing but suddenly disappeared. Then it appeared again.
Mom: Oh.
Mom: Okay, I'll be there.
You: Thanks
Now back to Lizzy. You were unsure on where she was located as of now so you decided to just text her instead.
You: Hey
You: Sorry I missed the confession
You: How did it go?
Lizzy: OMG Y/N
Lizzy: OMGOMGOMG we kissed
You: So you guys are dating now?
Lizzy: Yes haha
You: Congrats UwU
You: Oh, btw my mom is picking me up
You: Lucky for you, you get to spend time with Leon ;))
Lizzy: Omg thank you so much bb, i'll appreciate and spend this time having fun
Ah, that kind of hurts. Are you being replaced? Maybe you shouldn't have written that message. It's too late to go back now anyways. You put your phone back and head to class.
Class ended like usual. The only unusual thing was the feelings deep inside of you. Your mother, as promised, was waiting for you in her sunglasses, leaning against the door. Holy crap, she looked badass. When M/N saw you, she waved at you and opened the car door. You opened the door on the other side and got in.
"I'm going to have to leave right after I drop you off, honey. I still have some work to do at my workplace so make sure to be responsible at home. Don't do anything rash as well." Your mom warned you. There was a pause before M/N spoke again.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" Your mother asked, as she started driving. You shook your head, hoping she could see from her peripheral vision.
"Okay." She replied, looking at you through the rear-view mirror. You leaned out the window, only to see Leon and Lizzy entering her car. Why do you feel like they're everywhere? You turned your head around and ducked a bit, hoping they wouldn't see you. Ugh, this was embarrassing.
M/N and you sat peacefully in silence as she drove home.

Future note to myself: maybe I shouldn't add the love interest's perspective for more mysteriousness if you get what i mean lol
should I stop with Leon's POV?
