Your mother left a few minutes after you arrived home. It seemed as though she was hesitant to leave you alone but decided not to. You were glad your mother understood that you wanted to be alone. Or maybe she simply had work to do. You didn't know.

Groaning, you threw your school bag on the floor and fell face first on the bed. Stupid Leon. Stupid Lizzy. Stupid feelings. How long did it take you to get over your last infatuation? Maybe around a month? And to build up your self esteem again? Definitely way longer.

"You know what? The party might do me good..." You murmured. Maybe you'll find some hot guy to make out with.

You snorted. Who were you kidding? You'd never do that! Plus, no sane attractive guy would ever make a move on you.

To go or not to go? That is the question. You paced around your room, pondering over possibly the riskiest decision of your teenagehood. Would you parents even allow this? If you went would you be grounded?

'It's probably best not to go. You've seen the books and the movies. What if you get harassed by drunk people you don't even know?'

'But at the same time, this is probably the only invitation to a party you'll ever get. Remember the times Lizzy posted herself in parties without you? Yeah. Didn't you always wish to go? Now is your time. Maybe forget about Leon while you're at it.'

At the end, jealousy reared its ugly head and the reckless side of you won. But you set some rules for yourself.

1) You always have to be alert; that means you'll be taking your own water bottle with you

2) You should always have pepper spray and a Swiss army knife at hand with you

3) Never take any drinks from strangers

Why were you going to the party again? It's not because maybe, just maybe, you want to get over Leon and find another someone you could crush on. Or just rant to a random stranger. Actually, that was fine too.

It's tomorrow anyways so you have to prepare. Firstly, you text Grace for the information and to inform her you were coming.

You: Grace

You: I'd like to go to the party

Grace: YAS girl

Grace: You'll get over that wimp of a boy in no time

Grace: Wait

Grace: Imma tell Alec you're coming

Grace: The bouncer needs to know

Your eyes widen. Holy shit, was this the serious types of parties?

You: uh

You: are you sure I'm allowed at this kind of party?

Grace: ofc dude

Grace: A friend of mine is a friend of Alec's

Grace: Although he never really did say that buuuutttt

Grace: He loves me :)

You: u guys dating?

Grace: lmao no we're just like BFFs along with a guy called Gabriel and Melody.

You: oh 'kay

Grace: anyways party at 9 pm but i'll pick u up at 10 bc it's not fun until the party actually starts.

Grace: send me your address and i'll pick you up

You: here's my address

You: Y/A

Grace: it'll be good for getting over Leo and that skanky ass hoe

You: lol it's Leon

Grace: who cares about that lolololol

You closed your phone. What were you going to wear tomorrow? Dresses or shirts?

"You know what? Let's just use a coin. If I can find one." You muttered under your breath. Since your wallet was downstairs, you hoped you left some coins under your bed or desk. You bent down to check the underneath of your desk. All you saw was dust piled up from weeks of uncleaned laziness. You should really clean that.

Crawling towards your bed, you lowered your head and looked underneath.

"Aha!" Stretching your hand, you reached for the coin.

You placed the coin on the top of your thumb and flicked it up, pushing the coin into the air. Catching it midair, you slapped the coin onto the back of your hand. Heads will be a cute dress and tails will be shirts and jeans.

You lifted your hand.

Tails.

Guess you'll have to stick with shirts and jeans! Not a bad decision. You happily pulled them out of your closet so you'd know what to wear tomorrow. You took out a F/C shirt and your cleanest jeans of all your practically-identical jeans. You could say it was your most semi-casual outfit.

Now, all you can do is wait. In the meantime, you decided to study up on topics at school that you aren't quite as familiar with. You parents came home a few hours after.

Crap. You were having last minute jitters. You checked your satchel once again, flipping the flap of the satchel open. You decided to bring a satchel because first, you didn't need to bring that much stuff and second, you weren't going to take the chance of someone pick pocketing you.

Pepper spray? Check. Bottles of water? Check. Money for a possible cab? Check. Tissues? Check. Phone for emergencies? Yup. But then again, you probably weren't going to drink alcohol. Wait, but then what's the point of going?

'To meet new people obviously.' Oh right, you forgot.

"Too late to back out," You sighed, looking at the time. It's half-past nine, meaning you still had 30 minutes to mentally prepare. You've done your makeup, you looked fucking awesome, you've even pissed beforehand; what more can you possibly do?

"Oh my god I'm such a bad teenager I'm so sorry, mom, dad." You started praying they wouldn't kill you. It's only once. Luckily for you, your parents are early sleepers, as well as early risers. They should be in bed sleeping by now so the chances of getting caught were unlikely. Although it was unlikely, you still put a note so that they wouldn't think you're missing.

Grace: heading to the park near ur house

Grace: Come in 15 min, might be able to make it early

You: got it

You nibbled your bottom lip and started picking your nails. You know what, maybe you should just go now. It'll probably get rid of all the anxiety you're feeling of getting caught.

Making your way downstairs, you tiptoed as quietly as you can towards the door. Twisting the doorknob, you checked again to make sure you had everything you needed before slipping away into the night.

After arriving at the park, you repeatedly checked your phone for notifications. Grace should be here any minute now. You sat alone on the park bench while you waited, shivering at the creepy scenery. The trees whispered through the winds, hearing rustles here and there. Nobody was at the park at this time and the lights seem dimmer than usual to you, making you feel vulnerable to surprise attacks.

Finally, an eternity later, you saw a red car pull up to your house. You waited for Grace to text you to confirm it was her.

Grace: I'm here

You took a deep breath.

"I can do it."

"Fuck. I can't do it." You started breathing heavily as you neared the huge mansion before you. It was fucking big. There were colored lights that shot out of the windows. Lights! Moreover, there were four people guarding the front door of the mansion, pushing the people who aren't allowed in.

"Holy shit." You whispered. Grace, who was right beside you, heard you and giggled.

"Don't worry! Alec is like, a totally nice guy like I said. Did I mention he's my best friend?" Grace confidently walked up to the door and smiled at the bodyguards. You followed her like a mouse as the uninvited people around you glared at you.

"Names?" The bouncer asked, his voice gruff. He had an extremely muscular body, wearing a black formal attire with ginger hair and beard. Wow. You thought it was just a plain party for your classmates. You looked at his name tag.

James.

"Grace Patterson and Y/N L/N." James checked the list of guests and nodded at the two of you, stepping aside to let you in. You could hear a chorus of groans behind you, complaining about their denial of entry.

"Welcome back, Miss Patterson." The bouncer gave a curt bow of acknowledgement.

"Hello Jamie~~ Nice to see you again." Grace winked and blew a kiss, making James' lips twitch up a bit, even if it was just for a second.

When you got inside, there were more staff who handled the people who entered. They were in charge of going through your bags to check for anything dangerous or illegal. Apparently, your Swiss army knife was considered dangerous. Your pepper spray was fine though. The woman in charge of checking your bag laughed and said it was understandable.

"Will I be able to get it back?" You protested, attempting to grab the knife back. The lady smiled and moved the knife further away from you.

"Of course you will, as long as you remember to get it when you leave."

You turned around to look at Grace - she was already waiting for you.

You and Grace walked into the main room in steady steps. You could already hear the loud music as it resounded through the spacious hallways. When you entered, your jaw dropped. There were already so many people! No wonder Grace's friend needed bouncers. Colored laser lights shot across the room from every angle and everyone screamed and cheered with their friends. Looks like everyone was having fun.

Looking around, you silently categorized the people into different groups, something you often unconsciously did.

First, were the people who simply enjoyed the party itself; they dance to the music, chat happily with their friends, played some games, and maybe drink some alcohol.

Second, were the people who were full out drunk. They came to the party to drink and do crazy shit. You assume they're staying overnight at the house considering the inability to drive or go home due to the alcohol in their body.

"Oh my gosh... there's someone stripping." You turned away quickly.

Third, were the horny/flirty ones. The ones who make out wherever, whenever. The ones which go up to the bedroom to fuck or something. You didn't know what was going on but, but you were pretty sure a couple just ran upstairs to do the dirty.

Fourth, were the ones you couldn't categorize. They just, fit in. For example, there was this guy dancing and hollering. Except he had a bright orange Afro wig with star shaped glasses and wore a vampire outfit.

"Y/N!" Grace screamed over the music, snapping you out of your thoughts.

"WHAT?" You screamed back.

"LET'S GET ALCOHOL IS FIRST. AND THEN, I'LL INTRODUCE YOU TO MY FRIENDS." You gave a thumbs up. Okay, that sounds fine. You didn't know what to do anyways. Grace, seeing your signal of confirmation, turned around, squeezing through the crowd of people. You followed her as best as you can, trying not to get lost in the sea of people.

It seems she already knew her way around this house. For the party, she was wearing a simple white crop top with denim shorts. You thought she looked pretty cute. You mindlessly followed her until the two of you arrived at a wide table full of a variety of alcohol. There were lots of open and unopened cans of beer, bottles of vodka, those red solo cups, bags of chips, and more alcohol. There was even a black pen for those who want to write their names on the drink.

"Wow." You whispered to yourself.

"Pick whatever you want." Grace grabbed two unopened cans of beer and handed you one. "It's your first time right? I recommend you trying beer out. The ABV for beer is pretty low so unless you're a real lightweight, I'm sure you won't get wasted."

You took the can from Grace and clumsily opened it, a bit of beer spilling from the top. Grace laughed and opened her own. You brought the can near your mouth and took a small sip.

"Bleh! It's so bitter."

Grace laughed. "That's what beer tastes like, dude. But you'll get used to it. But once you get used to it, it'll taste way better."

"If you say so..." Grace grasped your hand and pulled you towards a corner that was thankfully more secluded. The people and loud music was overwhelming you. As you were dragged closer to the corner, you saw a three-seater sofa and two people sitting on it; a boy who was reading aook and a girl who was on her phone.

The boy honestly didn't look like the typical person who would come to a party like this. He had blonde messy medium sized hair and wore a casual shirt and loose grey sweatpants. His legs were crossed as he read his book. This man looked bored as he read his book through his black glasses. The lamp beside him allowed him to read more easily as it shone towards his book. His disinterest and your first impression of him kind of reminded you of Tsukishima if you know what I mean. If there's a Tsukishima, there's certainly a Yamaguchi as well, right?

You slapped yourself lightly. Who were you kidding?

The girl was in a way similar to the blonde. The apathy in her eyes were blatant enough to ward people away from the two of them. Her yellow-streaked brown-black hair was in a thick braid and cascaded down to her chest. She, unlike the blonde guy, made an effort to dress more for the occasion. It didn't seem like any of them cared about the party though.

"Gabriel! Melody~" Grace greeted them by hopping on the couch and pulling their heads onto her chest. The two people responded by pushing her off accordingly, muffling at the same time.

"Mfff! Grace! Get off!" Gabriel was trying to turn his head away from Grace's breasts. Not to mention his glasses were now pressed up against his face as well, smudging the glass.

"Oh Gabriel! Why're you always so rude all the time?" Grace pouted, letting go of the two.

"It's not very hard to be rude when someone gives me a reason to be rude." Gabriel huffed before going back into his book. Melody sighed, going back on her phone as well.

"Wait! Dudes! Before you go back to whatever you were doing, remember when I told you I made a new friend? Her name's Y/N." Grace shook Gabriel's shoulder.

"Oh yeah. I remember you mentioning her. Is she the one hiding behind you?" Melody pointed at you, who was standing behind Grace.

"Yeah! Guys, meet Y/N. Y/N, meet Gabriel and Melody." The said people gave polite smiles. It was clear they aren't really interested in making new friends. "Hey! Where's Alec?"

"Oh him. I dunno, I think he's upstairs with another girl or boy." Melody sighed again, lying on the couch. "I'm just waiting for him so he can take us home. Honestly, I don't understand why he trapped us in the stupid house in the first place." Gabriel nodded in agreement.

You continued to sip your beer as Grace chattered happily with her friends. Once again, you felt alone. You continued drinking your beer until you realized there was none left. Grace, who somehow noticed, got up and told everyone that she'd get more drinks, leaving you alone with her two friends.

By that time, you felt a bit tipsy and talkative. All three of you weren't usually talkative, but since the objective of this party was for you to make new friends, you decided to try to socialise. You looked around and thought about what things you had in common. That's when you realized Gabriel's holding a copy of F/B - one of you favourite books! Surely that's a worthy conversation starter.

"Uhm... Is that F/B?" You murmured as you shyly pointed at the book Gabriel was reading. Gabriel lifted his head and nodded. There was some interest in his eyes, meaning you were going in the right direction. Melody, too, turned towards you and listened to your conversation.

"As a matter of fact, yes it is. Why? Do you enjoy it?" His eyes gleamed with curiosity.

You nodded eagerly and smiled. "Of course! It's one of my favourite books! In fact, I..."

His question led you to ramble on and on passionately about the story's concept and plot until you finally realized you were talking too much. You looked around to see Gabriel smiling at you and Melody still listening to you as well. It seems like Melody was the type with few words. "Oh! Sorry, I got so caught up by the story I didn't even ask for your opinion!"

Gabriel chuckled. "It's fine. I actually enjoy our conversations, unlike Grace and Alec who-"

"Heyyyyy guys! I got more alcohol~!" Grace came jogging with cans of beer and a bottle of another type of alcohol.

Gabriel groaned. "I was hoping she never came back."

"You can't get rid of me that easily. Hehe~" Grace tried blowing him a kiss as she dumped all the things she was carrying on the couch. Gabriel feigned a gag, making Melody laugh.

"Here, Y/N. Lots of things for you to try. I see you've acquainted yourself with Gabriel and Melody." Grace picked up a solo cup and poured a bit of whatever was in the bottle she was carrying. She handed it to you.

"Vodka." You took the cup and sipped a bit like you did with the beer. The moment you swallowed it, you coughed because of the slight burn you felt. Honestly, it didn't taste as bad as you thought it would as you already drank beer.

As you continued to sip vodka, you felt yourself get a little fuzzy. A little loose. Like you could do and say aaaaaannything in the world. Grace was already inebriated. How long has it been again?

"You know," You started, swirling you solo cup like a glass of wine. "I've always thought Lizzy was a bitch you know? She does things that make me insecure and stupid. Heck, she even stole Leon away from me!"

"What a bitch." Melody agreed.

"So that's why I'm at the party. To move on from stuuuupid little Leon and stuuuuupid Lizzy. It's going to be awkward to break if off though."

"If you want you could always sit with us at lunch. We sit at the bleachers." Gabriel suggested. Grace nodded but then smacked Gabriel, making him glare at her.

"That's what I said! Stop s-stealing my lines." Grace complained. Gabriel scowled.

"Mhm. And like, she always acts so disinterested in what I like. Like, I'm trying to make a stupid fucking effort to get closer with her but she just dismisses it like I'm a fucking fly. Oh, and there's another bitch called Monika. I think she's bullying me but I don't know."
