I hear shuffling, then breathing. Breathing? I know it's not me, then I feel the edge of the bed sink. I snap my eyes open and I quickly sit up from laying, bring my legs up to my face. I get dizzy for a few seconds then when my eyes dilate, I see Juliet staring at me with a wide smile.

"What are you doing here?" I ask her, breathing deeply as she quickly gets up from sitting on my bed. She tries not to laugh and I realize what she's giggling about. I look down and I forgot that I stripped out of my bloody clothes and that I'm in an underwear and bra. The bottom half of my body is covered by the blanket but my black bra is showing with my white stomach. I quickly grab the blanket and I wrap it around my body as it slips over my shoulder.

"Trust me, I'm not a lesbian because I do have a crush on this boy but that doesn't even matter. I'm here because I want to hang out with you." I look at her with wide eyes than I let out a shaky laugh.

"Now? What time is it?"

"It's five past ten." I run my hand through my hair.

"Oh wow, but it's not creepy at all walking in my room and staring at me sleeping." I say to her sarcastically and she walks away from me.

"I was going to wake you up, I didn't want to terrify you by knocking on the door."

"I don't even have clothes." I admit and when she goes in the closet, she comes back out chucking things at me. I look down at my lap and I realize that it's a sweater, jeans and a bra and underwear.

My clothes.

"Where did you get them?" I ask, picking up my sweater and running my fingers along the soft texture.

"Alex and I went back to your house and got your clothes and some other things you would like." Juliet points at the desk and I see books and CDs on there. My things. I give her a soft smile while slowly getting out of bed. Now I didn't care if I was half naked in front of her. She looked like she was used to it and I'm used to changing in school for gym. I grab my clothes and I go to the bathroom, rinsing my face, brushing my teeth and hair and changing. After, I get out and Juliet gives me my favorite brown boots as I thank her. I zip them up and I go in the closet, realizing that my clothes are neatly separated and folded.

"So where are we exactly going?" I ask her and she walks in, leaning against the doorway.

"We're going down to the village but I'm secretly taking you out."

"Why secretly?"

"Because you aren't allowed to leave the mansion but my parents aren't home, they are away for business and Xavier is pretty pissed at you still and Alex isn't home either so why not?" I give her a smile and honestly, I like her here. She's the only one I can talk to except threatening me with hatred.

"That would be great." I reply and she cheers, grabbing my hand and pulling me to the door.

"Let's go!" She screams as we leave my room and down the stairs. We weren't allowed to leave from the front door because vampires were guarding it so we sneaked from the back. There was a back gate so we jogged out of there and down a dirt path that led to the village.

"I feel such a badass." I laugh while we walked side by side. It's not cold out at all, the sun is seeking through the trees so I wasn't cold.

"I do this all the time, it's so much fun." Juliet says as we both start laughing.

"So what's at the village?" I ask her and she kicks gravel down the path.

"Oh, just small stands on the streets where people sell things from antiques to food. Then further down there's a school and stores."

"That's interesting." I say back and she just laughs. Questions run through my head and I open my mouth. "Hey, Juliet, how old are you?" Her head snaps my way and a grin runs along her lips. "In human age I'm sixteen but I've been a vampire for centuries. Vampires age differently than humans, we age very slow."

"So, how old is Xavier?"

"Funny about that, he actually just turned eighteen which started the Prophecy. Alex is twenty in human age also."

"Wow, so I'm gonna die while you guys are still young." The grin vanishes from her lips and she frowns, looking down at the ground.

"I don't like thinking about that. I've known people while I watched them grow up and die, it's very grieving."

"Sorry, I didn't mean to bring up a sad subject." Juliet clears her throat and she glances at me, her eyes bright and sparkly with a smile stitching back on her face.

"Don't worry about it- oh we're here!" She shouts and I notice that there's different stands with people selling things. Juliet goes to the first one which an old man was selling antique necklaces. Juliet looks at each of them and I walk up next to her, looking at the beautiful rusty metals.

"These are beautiful." I breathe, picking one up and shining it over the sun. It was a dark green emerald with a carving of a women's face.

"That'd be fifty dollars, young lady." The old man says, resting his head against his cane.

"Sorry, I don't have money." I reply back, placing the necklace back on the small table while Juliet points at the one I was just holding.

"Hey, I have one like that. I wore it in nineteen thirty-three at a Christmas party. I think I still have it." I choke literally choke on my saliva while she says that. Well, I cannot believe she just said that.

"I knew you looked familiar. Good morning, Princess." The old man coughs out with his scratchy voice and Juliet smiles, bowing her head to him.

"You too, sir." She replies back before jogging off to another stand. She was going to the ones with jewelry so I ignored her, walking to a dull one that caught my attention.

: it read.

The women who owned the stand looks up at me with excitement in her face.

"Hello, young girl, how are you today?" She asks me, and I look down at gold coins that have a shadow of a face figure on it.

"I'm good, what are these for?" I ask her and she picks one up, smiling.

"Oh well, this is for the Prophecy."

"You know about the Prophecy?" I question her and she chuckles, leaning closer to my face. I know she was human, just like the old man from earlier.

"If you live about a mile away from the Mansion, you hear anything sweetheart." She whispers in my ear which makes a shiver run down my spine.

"So, what are these for?" I ask her and she sits down in the chair behind her.

"I used to be a psychic and when I heard about the Prophecy, I believed in it."

"So you believe that the human and Xavier Dagger will fall in love and stop both kinds from war?" I ask her and she just nods to me.

"These coins are for anyone who wants to participate. If you would like, you will grab one, flip it in the air and if your face is in that carving of the female, you are the human for the Prophecy."

"Does it really work?"

"Not for any of the women who have tried. Go ahead and do it." She suggests and I do, picking up a coin and flipping it. As I watched it fly in the air, I squint at the coin, realizing that my face is on the females carving. I gasp, catching it and closing it in my fist. Adrenaline rushes through me and my heart starts to beat rapidly. "So? Are you the human who I have been looking for?" The women asks me and I take a deep breath.

"No, I didn't see my face." I lie and she shrugs, taking a sip of water from her water bottle. Should I tell her? Tell her that I am the human for the Prophecy?

"Mhm, I really wonder who that girl is."

"Is it bad if she is part of the Prophecy?" My voice shakes when I ask her and the women narrows her eyes to me.

"I don't know, I just hope war stops in this filthy world." I shift uncomfortably in my standing position and she leans forward, resting her elbows on the small table. "Are you not telling me something?" She spot on knows, definitely.

"How about if the human is actually m-"

"Diana! There you are!" Juliet screams behind me, walking up to me and grabbing my arm. She notices the women and smiles at her, nodding her head. "Hello." The women frowns when she knows who Juliet is and doesn't respond to her greetings. Maybe she doesn't like vampires. I slowly slip the gold coin in my jean pocket while Juliet starts to tug me away. "We need to go, I was looking for you." Her voice darkens a little when we leave away from that stand as we walk back from where we started.

"Where are we going?" I ask her when she let goes of my arm.

"You were going to tell her that you are the human for the Prophecy." She whispers near me and I narrow my eyes to her.

"Is that bad?" I ask dumbfounded and when she looks at me, her expression is showing me like 'duh'.

"No one is not allowed to know, even here."

"Why not?"

"Because there are some vampires here who do not like the Prophecy and if they find out it's you, there's going to be problems." She replies quickly as we start heading back to the mansion.
