《Bound By Blood》Bound By Blood: 5. The Prophecy

The bedroom door in which I'm sleeping in slams shut and wakens me from a long sleep. I sit up yawning and I see that Xavier is the one that barged in.

"Get up, breakfast is ready." He says to me as I slip out from under the covers and I cringe when I realize that I'm still in my clothes from last night.

"Is there any clothes that I can wear? I smell pretty-"

"Bad? Yeah I smell you. Go shower, I'll get you clothes." I walk to the bathroom so I can shower but I pause before shutting the door.

"Who's clothes am I going to wear?" Xavier turns his head to me, his face taken back with annoyance.

"The human girl that lived in this room before you, before she died."

"Are you joking?" He mumbles 'oh my god' and gazes back at me.

"Yes, you're the first human living in this mansion-which is disgusting-but I'll give you some of Juliet's." I give him a grin as he heads towards the door.

"Thanks."

"Shut up." I groan, going in the bathroom and taking a shower. This bathroom is like a hotels one, it has towels ready, soap, lotion, a clean toothbrush, everything. I was grateful because I want to smell good and look clean before I find out why I'm here. I wrap a towel around my body and I unlock the door, ready to change but I jump from a figure watching me.

"Xavier!" I scream, walking backwards, slamming onto the bathroom door and tripping, shutting the door shut.

"Come' on, I don't care about a human in a stupid towel." I hear his muffles through the door.

"Well I do!" I shout back and I open the door a crack, sticking my arm out. "Give me the clothes."

"No."

"Please!"

"I'm no slave to you, human."

"Stop calling me that." I say getting angry and I hear him mumble something but I couldn't hear. I hear the door click shut and I stick my head out, seeing him nowhere to be found. I walk out, seeing a pair of athletic shorts on the bed with a tank top. I stride back in the bathroom and I grab my undergarments, throwing them on me than Juliet's clothes.

Shocker that it fits me because she looked skinner than me. I'm not skinny, I'm curvy- that's how I mention myself. Not chubby because I have thick muscles from sports- basketball and volleyball. A lot of arm muscles. I'm really tall so it helps, I do look skinny, funny right?

Anyways, of course Xavier gives me a tank top with my neck exposed for any vampire to lunge at me with their fangs. What is his problem? He's so mean and cranky all the time. I brush my hair down because it's wet and when I open the bedroom door, Xavier is leaning on the wall across from me.

"Finally, you're ready."

"Where are we going?" He grabs me by my upper arm and tugs me down the stairs.

"Like I said earlier, breakfast is ready."

"I'm not that hungry."

"Well I am." Xavier grumbles back and I narrow my eyes at him.

"Vampires eat human food?"

"Yeah but that's not on my menu." He says and I look straight ahead than it clicks in my mind.

"So you want blood?" Suddenly, I'm pinned against the wall and he's holding me down.

"Shut up or you'll be the one bleeding from my teeth." He threatens and I gulp, nodding quickly before he walks away. Finally, we reach a large room that I'm guessing is the dining room.

"Oh hi Diana! Sit next to me!" Juliet shouts at me who is sitting down already with her parents and Alexander. I nod, taking a seat next to her while Xavier sits next to Alexander who is sitting across from me. Jean is sitting at the end and Antonia is on the other side. A young women walks towards us from a sliding door and puts plates in front of us. A whiff of bacon hits my nostrils and my stomach grumbles in hunger. All of them hear and chuckle besides Xavier who rolls his eyes. Home fries, bacon and eggs are in front of me and I grab my fork to dig in.

"So Diana, how old are you?" Antonia asks me and I turn my head.

"Sorry, but shouldn't I be asking the questions?" I reply and Juliet's eyes widen like I said the worst thing ever. Alexander kept his eyes down and Xavier flares his nostrils.

"You shouldn't talk like that to the Queen." He spits to me with venom and the Queen shushes him.

"It's fine, anyways, Diana I know you want answers. Just eat right now and we'll tell you later."

"Promise?" I ask full with eggs in my mouth and she gives me one nod. "I'm seventeen."

"Do you do any sports or clubs?"

"Basketball and volleyball, and the newspaper club."

"Oh, so you like writing?" The King butts in and I turn my gaze at him.

"Absolutely."

"Do you have any siblings?" Juliet cuts in and I nods no to her in silence.

"What do your parents do for living?" The Queens asks another question and I take a deep breath.

"They both work at my town hospital."

"Wonderful." I look down at my plate and I realize that I ate everything. The women from earlier walks back around the table and puts down a glass of blood for the vampires and orange juice for me. I gulp it down in dehydration.

"Would you like more?" The King offers and I glance at him, at the point he drinks blood and I try not to gag. I nod no and I meet eyes with Xavier. His plate is still full with breakfast but he's only drinking the blood. A smirk appears on his face when I watch him drink it.

"Diana." The Queen snaps and I leave out of my delusion, turning my gaze to her.

"I think it's time for you to meet the one that can tell you why you're here." She looks back and forth to Juliet, Xavier and Alexander. "Children, follow." We all get up and I follow with them. After walking through random hallways and passing some vampires who just watch me and whisper to each other, we made it to a room full with books.

"Madame Florence." The King says to a women who's back is facing us. She's looking straight ahead through the large window that takes over the whole wall and with a breathless view. It shows everything, through the trees and to a small town I don't recognize. The women who is Florence, slowly gets up and I see now why she's wobbling around. She's very old. Her hazel eyes meet my brown ones and she gives me a smile. She's dark-skinned with many wrinkles, she must be up there for her age.

"Hello beautiful dear." Her scratchy voice says to me and it runs silent from everyone. She slowly reaches me and cups her smooth hand against my cheek, taking a sharp breath and closing her eyes. "She is the one." She whispers before opening her eyes again. The Royal family slowly pass me and face me, the King and Queen giving me a soft nod.

"Why am I here." I say to her and Florence gives me a shaky smile.

"You are the Prophecy."

"What Prophecy?"

"Florence, she doesn't know." The Queen softy says behind her and Florence lets out a coughing laugh.

"Explains why she looks so confused." She pauses, grabbing my hand and leading me back to her chair that she was sitting on earlier. She plops back on there and I lean down on my knees so I can see her eye level. I don't know why but she makes me warm and relaxed, that I shouldn't be angry at everything.

Or sad.

"Many years ago, before I spelled myself to slow my aging so I can find you, we found out that during the time when Vampires and Humans are living together, there will be a Prophecy. A Prophecy in which when a Royal Vampire turns eighteen, he will fall in love with a Human and that will stop the wars between their kinds."

"What do you mean by slowing down your aging?" I ask her and she still has her smile on her face.

"Diana, Florence here is an old French witch." The Queen cuts in.

"Witches are real?" My eyes widen and Florence lets out a laugh. No duh she has a thick accent too.

"Yes, and she is the last witch on this planet."

"Where are the other ones?" I ask her, turning my head to Antonia.

"They all died, beautiful one. They all killed themselves, young, old, reckless... all. When the Prophecy spilled out they thought that Vampires deserve no humanity when they killed many Humans. They thought that saving the world between the Humans and their kind are no use."

"So you slowed down your aging for what?"

"So I can find that human that is part of the Prophecy. I do know that the two kinds will find each other."

"And who is part of this?"

"The young Vampire is Xavier Dagger and the human is Diana Wilson." My throat runs dry and I look at her stilled.

"I'm the human." I whisper mostly to myself but of course everyone else hears.

"Yes, my beautiful one, I have found you."

"Why me? I'm just a normal seventeen year old living in this reckless life and trying to get over school." I let out a chuckle at my own words and it runs quiet. I turn to Xavier who just doesn't even glance at me one bit. He doesn't look so happy about this.

"God just chose you became you're the one out of the hat." She pauses than lets out a harsh laugh. "Now it's time that you do your job for the Prophecy." I furrow my eyebrows and I nod my head no. I can't fall in love with Xavier? Is that why he hates me so much?

"Wait, wh-" Florence whispers I'm guessing is Latin under her breath and I let out a high pitched scream. Blood sprays against my face and chest, and when I open my eyes, Florence's throat is slit open. She starts to gargle on her blood as everything goes rampage. Juliet runs to me, grabbing me and pulling me away, off of my knees.

"Get her out!" Alexander screams while I look around and I see that Xavier is nowhere to be seen. The King grabs Florence before she hits the ground and her blood is seeping on his clothes. The Queen is crying and trying to keep Florence awake.

The last thing I see before vanishing with Juliet dragging me is Florence staring at me with a smile.
