《The Lilly Within the Ashes》Ch 4

I wake up to the same weight on my hand. I try to steady my breathing and swallow my scream as I see the man holding my hand again. Maria reassured me multiple times yesterday that this man, her boss, is only trying to take care of me. Her words slowly eased my worry but for some reason he still scares me. His body outline still reminds me of the man that killed my parents, and due to still having hazy vision, I can not tell if she is lying to me or not. Which I know is ridiculous, but I still feel the need to stay as far away from this man as possible.

I slightly wiggle my hand out of his grip but he seems to grip harder to my hand. I am now prying his fingers from my hand and had to stop a few times due to him looking like he was about to wake. I have never sweat so much in my life. I was finally able to detach his hand and fast tip toe to the bathroom. Once I shut the door, I feel more calm. The lock on the door is still broken from when he broke down the door last time, so I push a stool in front of the door.

I undress and take a shower. Although it was only five minutes, the warm water helped ease my sore muscle and semi relax me. The last two days have been crazy and miserable. I will have to ask when they will let me leave so I can try to go back to my life. If they would ever let me leave that is.

I exit the shower and wrap myself in a towel. I go to brush my teeth but I hear someone screaming "ANGEL?!" multiple times in the bedroom. I'm stuck frozen for I know he's looking for me and I do not wish to see him. Before I know it, the bathroom door is slammed open, causing the stool to fly across the bathroom, shattering the glass shower.

I can't clearly see his face but with his shoulders looking like they relaxed, I can tell he's relieved to see me. "You scared me Princess." He huffed out. He started stepping closer to me but I started backing up. I must of created a puddle of water for a slipped on it. I go to grab the vanity but my injured wrist ends up hitting the edge of the countertop. A whimper escapes my lips due to the pain and now the man is grabbing my wrist and taking a look at it. "Oh baby! I'm so sorry. Let's put ice on that." Realizing that he's touching me and is so close to me, I start to scream and cry.

He starts panicking and goes to cradle me in his arms. I try as much as I can to push him away while still screaming like I'm being stabbed. His arms are suddenly off of me and I quickly back away while holding my wrist to my chest. "Boss, let Maria take care of her." another male voice speaks. I see the shadows of the two men leave the bathroom. Seconds later, Maria enter the bathroom with a gasp. "Oh Lilly! Let's get you fixed up and then I will clean this mess up."

I'm now sitting on the bed, swaddled in thick blankets as lack of a better term, like a burrito. Maria called the doctor, who came in and took a look at my burns, eyes, and gave me an arm sling for my wrist to help reduce the swelling. She informed me, that besides re-injuring my wrist, my healing process is going along very well, and my voice and sight should be back in a few days.

I ate breakfast which was french toast and another bowl of fruit with cranberry juice. Maria left a bit ago to grab cleaning supplies for the bathroom, so I put on an audio book to take my mind off of everything. I hope I don't see that man for the rest of the day.

I wake up to see she is gone. So many things are going through my head. Did she leave me? Did someone take her? She can't leave me! I need her and I know she will need me. In a panic state, I start screaming for her while searching through the bedroom. "ANGEL?!" I repeat over and over again while looking under the bed, in the closet, and trying to open the bathroom door. Seeing that the door is jammed, I body slam it open. A stool that was in the way of the door flew over to the shower, shattering it. Not caring about the shower, I see my beautiful angel shaking near the sink.

Instant relief spreads through my entire body. "You scared me Princess." I speak as calmly as I can to not scare her. I go to move towards her, but she instantly starts backing up. Within in a blink of an eye, she slips and hit her wrist on the vanity. A heart-breaking whimper escapes her.

I quickly move over to her and grab her poor tiny wrist to check it. The tiny thing has now began to swell and turned a light shade of purple. "Oh baby I'm so sorry. Let's put some ice on that." As if she suddenly realizes something, she starts to scream and cry. Trying to comfort her, I instantly take her into my arms and press her against my chest to try and calm her down, but I only seemed to worsen her screaming. She tries to push me away and screams like I'm the one harming her.

I'm removed from my baby by the one and only Anthony. "What?" I grit out through my teeth. He seems to keep removing me from her when there is ever a chance I get to hold her. His face shows nothing or any emotion of any sort. "Boss let Maria take care of her." I'm about to say no, but after witnessing that she is still terrified of me, I nod my head with a sigh and leave the room.

Once leaving the room, I take Anthony down to the kitchen. I quickly go for the cabinets and grab a glass and fill it to the rim with water. Once I chug the water down, I throw the glass at a wall and watch it shatter. "What the hell am I supposed to do? If-If she doesn't get comfortable around me any time soon, I might break. I can't break Anthony! I'm near that point right now!" I yell while running my hands through my hair and pacing like a mad man.

"You need to get away from her and get your mind on things. I know that it's my job to go check on the warehouses to see if they're up to protocol, but maybe you can do it instead. It will get your mind off of her and you'll be across the country." I hesitate on his answer. He is right, I do need to give her time and space and the best way to do that is to be far away from her. "Set up the plane. I'm leaving tonight."

With that I walk out of the room to go grab a few maids to pack my shit since I can't be in my room at the moment. I take a couple of large gulps of air to try to calm myself down. She needs time and space. I just need to keep repeating that so I know that what I'm doing is good for her.
