《Being a Villainess is No Joke》27. My Outburst

I got in the carriage, ignoring the shouting teachers behind me.
"Mac Eachern Orphanage. Now!" I said to the coachman who nodded wordlessly and rode the carriage.
Soon smokes and a burning building came into the view, fire soldiers, water mages (including Marinus) were all working on extinguishing the fire, while Caiden just got out of a carriage, probably just arriving at the scene. Traashid was giving orders to the Royal Guards and I could see that there were quite a lot of them. This means that the guards guarding the East Portals were already here, leaving the gates open for the kidnappers.
I quickly made my way towards Traashid. I have to tell him. I can't risk Choco's life.
"Your Highness!" I said, my breathing fast, "It's a -"
"Lady Adailia!? You're not supposed to be here!" Traashid exclaimed, looking surprised as well as stressed.
"Listen! It's a distraction! You need to send your guards to-", "Adailia, I don't have time for this, I need to save the kids in here"
"There's NO KIDS Raashid! There are only caretakers here. They were kidnapped and the kidnappers are in the fucking tunnel and are heading towards the East Portals! Trust me on this one, Please!"
He looks at me as if I'd lost it.
Please Believe this. Trust Adailia just this once.
Then he took a deep breath, "Adailia, it's not safe here. Leave."
My hopes were shattered and suddenly an image of a dead girl came to my mind. A girl with black hair and black eyes, which looked lifeless. And for a second I couldn't guess if she was my sister or the one that looked like my sister.
And I knew I couldn't waste any more time trying to get Traashid to believe me and save them.
"Fine. Don't believe me." I muttered, then turned around and dashed towards the nearest manhole cover.
After I found it I took a deep breath and climbed down. There was a pavement on both the sides and dirty water flowing in between.
'YOU BRATS! WALK FASTER!'
A faint voice came from my left, I ran as fast I could with those bloody heels.
After 10 minutes of running or something, I finally found the kidnappers and children (tied together in groups) as they were walking with there back to me.
I tried to calm my breath down and composed myself.
Time to execute the plan.

"Oh! Look who we have here!" I exclaimed and all of them stopped and looked at me with wide eyes, but relaxed after they saw I was alone. My hands started to tremble a bit.
"Finish her off." I heard one of them speak in Korean but before anyone could approach me, I started again, "The Prince figured out your plan and is heading towards the tunnel."
All of them flinched, "How do you know.."
"One of your men gave you away. He knows you are in the tunnel and are heading toward the east portals."
"Why are you telling us this and how can we believe you?" One of the men asked.
"I hate the Crown Prince and there's nothing better than his downfall. And you don't have to believe me, it's you who's going to get caught and die anyway." I started speaking bullshit with such confidence that I even shocked myself.
Please! Please buy it!
"Then... What should we do now?" One of them asked and a small sigh of relief leave my mouth.
"Go to the west, near the Royal library. The Prince knew you were heading to the east so he set all the guards in the east while guards from the west were called to deal with the fire in the orphanage." I lied. The area around the library is still guarded there would be no way they could get away. And even if some of them, stayed inside the tunnel, Traashid eventually will send the guards here (when he realises it is a distraction).
"What about these brats? Boss would kill us if we fail." One of them said.
"Leave them here." I said and threw the big pouch of fake gold money in their direction.
"But the boss would...", I cut him off, " Boss or life. It depends on what is more important to you. Besides you got the money, even though it may not be that much."
All of them glanced at each other hesitantly.
"Well, then thank you for the money and information lady. But we will have to kill you." He said taking out his knife.
I froze. Shit. I didn't think of this (like, what kind of a shitty logic is that). I thought they'd let me go since I helped them. What the fuck?!
He moved towards me and I stepped back.

Nononononono... I don't want to die like this..
Suddenly footsteps could be heard and all us knew what that was.
The guards are coming, they are in the tunnel.
"Shit.". The man who tried to kill me cursed and quickly ran, leaving the kids there. All the other men also ran behind him.
I collapsed onto the dirty floor, my knees gave away, which were shaking badly throughout the conversation.
I was scared.
I thought I was going to die again.
It was.... I didn't want to experience something like that again.
As I was staring at my trembling hands, a pair of small feet walked towards me.
" It okay, Pinky." A small voice came soon followed by a light tap on my shoulder.
I raised my head to meet a pair of black eyes and I engulfed her in my arms.
"Eunah!!" The words left my mouth even though I knew it was Choco and not Eunah.
But I was delusional.
And selfish.
I wouldn't have to bother running down here and save Choco's life if she didn't look like my sister. I wouldn't have tried to bond with her if she didn't look like my sister. Hell, I wouldn't have even bothered saving Choco the first time we met if I didn't see my little sister in her.
I saved her because I couldn't bare to lose someone who looked so much like the person who was close to me. Knew me. Me. Choi Haeun. Not Adailia.
I am still stuck up in the past even though this is my present.
I am still learning to accept things even though I've been here longer than a month.
I'm still trying to act like Haeun even though I'm.... Adailia.
As I tried to calm down, with her small body in my arms I heard a few gasps from behind me.
Oh, look who's finally here!
Sadness subsided and anger rose within me.
I rose to my feet.
"Look who finally decided to bestow us with his presence, " I said, voice dripping with venom, "If it isn't his highness the crown prince." I spat his name like it was an insult.
I was really angry.
He didn't believe me.
I almost died.
And he comes now.
"Lady Adailia-", " I fucking told you!" I cut him off, "I told you everything you needed to know about this and you still didn't believe me."
Traashid frowned but calmly said, "Sorry.. but I....can't trust you."
"Right." I spat, "But it's not about trusting, it's about logic. If it were to be Marinus or Caiden..hell if it were to be any of your guards who told you the exact same words I told you, you would've believed them in a heartbeat. I told you the logical and rational truth and you know it is the truth because you are standing here right now! You know what I was telling you was logical but because it was coming from me you didn't want to believe it. And because of that these kids would've lived in hell."
His frowned deepened, "What do you me-"
"These kids were going to be taken to Peruka to be worked as a slave. They were going to use East portals to do that." I cut him off.
"Shit! There's no guards there! We need to -" One of the Royal guards panicked.
"I sent them to the west, near the library." I cut him off, "But do send some guards near the east portal just in case." I told the royal guard before turning my eyes back to Traashid in a heated glare.
"You, " I pointed a finger at him, "are going to be one hell of a shitty emperor who will ruin his empire with this lack of trust and rash decisions."
Everyone gasped and Mari started, "Lady Adailia, do you even know what-", " Shut up Mari! I'm not talking to you!" I shouted and he flinched.
I was flaring with rage, so I finally spat my last words to Traashid, "I pity this empire and it's people cause you suck!" Then I flipped him off.
I grabbed Choco's hand and started moving forward, "Send half of these guards to the west, half to the east through this tunnel, block other exits and look after the children. If you believe me, that is." I said looking at Caiden who was silent all this time. He curtly nodded and I started walking towards them, "MOVE!" They all flinched and moved away, making way to the exit of the tunnel.
I climbed up helping Choco to climb up too and then we were out on the street. The orphanage was still on fire so I decided to take her home for today.
Today was one hell of a day.

Falling for a Star (Complete)
I had never paid much attention to celebrity gossip or what was going on in Hollywood because that was so far from the lifestyle I lived as a poor college student, working as a barista to save up for my own house after graduation. What I found when I got there and met Dylan was the total opposite; a man that was humble, hard working, easy to talk to, and down to earth. Spending a week in Paradise in the guest house of Dylan Chase's Malibu mansion right on the beach, attending a movie premiere on his arm, shopping on Rodeo Drive and eating at five star restaurants was like a dream come true, but sleeping in his bed and falling for a guy from a completely different world than me was never part of the plan because we could never end up together.
