《Being a Villainess is No Joke》26. The Attack on the Orphanage

There is a lot of things and lessons I learnt in these 29 years of my life.

And one of the major lessons was, to not underestimate the time and its speed.

Another month passed away in a blink of an eye and it's already two months since I began my new life in this shitty novel where people get nosebleeds and faint just by looking at person's face.

Life outside the Royal Academy went smoothly. I successfully frightened yet another weird woman who tried to get with Aiden because of his money. The Archdude sucks at picking up decent people as his fiance (cause his idea of decent is weird itself). If I let any of those women become Aiden's wife, I'm pretty sure Aiden's gonna suffer. I can already imagine him dealing with the lady's tantrums and apologizing for her mistakes.

I decided that even though I may not get to marry that piece of delicious ass, I might as well make sure he ends up with a nice person.

Choco and I have gotten enough close for Choco to wish me first and for her to speak more than 5 words which is progress if you ask me.

In the Royal Academy, dealing with whispers is a part of my daily life.

Besides Traashid's failed attempts at flirting, nothing special happened. Which was quite unsettling.

I frowned once again as the carriage continued moving forward.

Seanna and Traashid were supposed get all lovey-dovey by now. But they barely talk to each other. I haven't seen them together at all. There may have been few eyes to eye contact but nothing else.

What about all those secret meetings??

And then, all of a sudden my rationality and logic (which were sleeping for the past month, might I add) replied,

Those secret meetings are 'secret' for a reason sweetheart.

And then as if thunderstruck I smacked my hand on my forehead releasing a deep breath and muttering 'idiot' under my breath.

Of course, I wouldn't get to see them being lovey-dovey! I was the villainess for heaven's sake! The whole point of the secret meetings was to not let Adailia see them and flip her shit.

The things still must be going on as planned (hope so) and I'm just not seeing it.

So basically.... My ship's still sailing and I'm not on it.

Well, fine.

As long as my babies are happy.

The carriage stopped in front of a garden and I hopped out of it with other nobles.

We had a combine outdoor class with the mages today.

The commoners, who didn't own carriages were teleported here through a magic circle(and I so wish I didn't have a carriage).

"Okay, so students," a mage teacher said, "We are going to perform some experiments to test knights and mages. This time it will be knights against mages. Noblewomen here are requested to be the audience, do not worry, we also have a practical study session later on where everybody can participate."

I was kind of sad that we (noblewomen) couldn't participate in a knight vs mages test, but later understood why they did that.

The knights and mages were supposed to fight a dragon.

A fucking dragon who breathed fire.

Norbert*, is that you?

I thought, snickering at my sense of humour.[*

The test was that they needed to cage the dragon (without getting roasted) before the mages.

I thought it was really unfair cause all the mages to have individual Pokemon powers, but turned out they were too scared to do anything.

The knights, however, were too brave and competitive for their own good (I mean, they can get burned alive and still not care as long as they win).

They won in the end.

Few knights and mages were severely injured but the mage nurse (which had powers similar to Seanna) healed them quickly.

The next thing we had to do was potions while the female mages were supposed to try embroidery.

And I was never that happy in my entire life. I was literally smiling ear to ear, eyes probably sparkling as they told us to bring the ingredients and follow the instructions carefully so we could brew a potion that could make plants grow 10 times faster. Though it was not a very magical potion, I was very happy (cause I felt like I was finally in Hogwarts, which was my dream school).

That happiness lasted ten minutes longer before they instructed us to dissect an earthworm and put its heart (or whatever that was) in there.

Nope. Never brewing potions again.

I was lucky I didn't end up puking at the end of the day (unlike Olivia). I swear I almost puked when I saw her throwing up rainbows (she didn't actually threw up rainbows but 'contents of her stomach' sounds so eww so I was like 'rainbows will work just fine')

Our last session was a trick about how to identify fake money from real money.

The Mage professor was telling us something, pointing to a trunk (which had real money) and then at a big pouch (which had fake money).

The professor was about to distribute it to all the students when suddenly a royal guard came running towards Traashid he whispered something in his ear which made Traashid nod and call Mari (who was there while Caiden had another period) and leave immediately.

It was after a few seconds that it click me.

It's that scene!!

The scene where the Orphanage was attacked.

Around some time here, the head of the slavery system in Peruka ordered his men and followers in Obelia to launch a final attack. The capital is heavily guarded and that's why the children's population here increased drastically. They wanted to get all children once in for all, that is why they targeted the orphanage.

The scene was described remarkably by the author. Around early morning, 50 men attacked the orphanage while 25 men stood back and knocked out the guards around the area while keeping an eye for any intruder.

All the children were stacked up and all the caretakers were knocked unconscious. Now they only had to take away all these children unnoticed. That's why they decided to travel through swine tunnels. However this planned possessed a problem. They had to get to east mountains to enter Peruka and the tunnel opening in the east was guarded by the royal guards because at it's opening, there are portals which teleport people and things to the far east of the continent. This was only used by nobles.

That's is why they decided to create a distraction. They burned the orphanage, which needed most of the royal guards who patrolled the east tunnel and surrounding area to rush for the rescue. After their path was clear they knocked rest of the guards with their strength and forcefully opened the portal and travelled to the far east where the carriages were already waiting.

However, Traashid soon realised it was all a distraction and ordered all the guards in the eastern mountain borders to check each and every carriage. Out of 7 carriages 6 were caught and one of them was crushed due to natural calamity and the kids with the kidnappers died.

If Traashid had given the orders late, they would've passed the border.

I was expecting it this month but not so soon. I mentally debated if I should help Traashid or not, but I don't think he'll believe me.

I feel sad that the children will have to go through such an experience, but there's nothing much I could do. I kinda feel horrible that some children may have to die because of this but I really shouldn't interfere with the story's flow.

However, a horrid realisation struck me a second later.

Choco.

She must be kidnapped too.

I totally forgot about the fact that she stays in the orphanage.

"Shit!" I cursed under my breath.

I need to tell Traashid.

I grabbed the heavy pouch of fake coins, just in case, as my mind began planning an absurd life-threatening backup plan.
