《Being a Villainess is No Joke》28. Radish & Rose

I stared at the ceiling with angels and cupids painted on it. It was past midnight.
And I can't get a wink of sleep...
...because of some certain memories.
'Shitty Emperor...'
'I pity this empire and it's people..'
'You suck!
'Shut the fuck up, you water boy!'
(never actually said that but my brain loves to exaggerate shit)
*Flips the Empire's Crown Prince off*
Uwaaaa!! How can I say that?!?!?
Even though I was that angry I can't say things like that to a kid. Especially if that kid is the future emperor of a huge ass empire, who also plans on killing me in the future.
Even I wouldn't trust myself in that condition. He never trusted the original Adailia, neither should he. How weird it would've been if your archenemy suddenly comes to you and tells you to trust them in something. That's straight up shady. Besides he had so many things on his mind at that time that it wasn't possible to take in everything I said.
But I was an inconsiderate bitch and cursed him. Ughh!
What even sucks more is that one wrong word against royalty can get you in jail for 3 months. And the number of curses and rude hand gesture I did can make sure I never see the blue sky for 2 years.
I closed my eyes and tried to calm myself down.
Don't worry. The Archdude will get me out of jail.
That thought calmed me down...
..only for a second.
But what if he can't??
That thought again sent me on a spree of self-loathing and I again blamed my stupid mouth for losing control.
After what seemed like hours, I got up, locked the door, got changed, grabbed my ring, said the magic words and then POOF!
"Why would you call me in the middle of the night?" The reaper asked.
"I can't sleep."
".........You want me to sing you a lullaby or what?"
"Nah, just drop me off to that bar and bring me back home once I pass out. This way I get to sleep." I explained. This was a shit reason but my brain was too panicked to care.
He looked at me incredulously.
"But we already went there last week." He complained.
"Just do it this once. You won't see my face next month." I said.
"You always say that. Even though we agreed on meeting two times a month, you end up calling me three times at the least.", He grumbled.
"Well, you need to repent for your mistakes. I died because of you. It'll be better if you shut up and cooperate with me. Maybe I'll forgive you a bit sooner." I argued (though I was not planning on forgiving him any time soon).
He pondered on it for a second.
"Okay. I'll drop you there. Don't forget your wig." He said.
"Oh right!" I said and grabbed my wig placing it on my head and adjusting it.
He held out a hand which I took then whoosh and we were standing in the same alley from where the bar was just around the corner.

"I screwed up!! So fucking bad!!" I whined and gulped yet another glass.
"I called him Shitty and then flipped him off! I'm going to rot in jail!!!" I started crying at this point.
"Just apologize to him. He ain't that bad of a kid. He'll probably forgive you." Ajhussi said, handing me a napkin.
"But he hates me!" I cried, wiping my tears.

"Right." Ajhussi said, "But you did save the children and helped him catch the kidnappers. There's no way he'll hate you that much after that."
"But I cursed him!" I whined and then flopped my head down on the bench, my left cheek getting squashed by the table.
"Thank God she passed out! I can't deal with her anymore." Ajhussi muttered and went to pick me up but I said, "Still there."
"Oh..." Was all that he said before he went back and sat down on his chair.
"Now that I think about it I don't know your name." I mumbled.
"Oh, it is 3456782." Ajhussi muttered nonchalantly.
"Pfft. Is that a name or a phone number? Ajhussi sounds more like a name." I said and chuckled.
As I looked around the bar I once again saw people looking at me like I was gone case (like they weren't a drunk goner themselves).
"Hey... Is it just me or are they looking at me weird every time I'm here?" I asked Ajhussi.
"Yes, they are."
"Why though? They're looking at me as if I'm talking to a chair." I mumbled.
"Maybe because you are." I snapped my head up towards him, eyes wide.
"Oh, I forgot to tell you that I'm invisible to others." He said with a smirk.
"You're such a...." I trailed off when I saw who just entered the bar.
The Platinum Trio.
"What the fuck? Am I that drunk or is that really the Platinum trio?"
"Ooooooo! Drama~", Ajhussi cooed.
I still couldn't understand why they were here this late. By the looks of it, they had it pretty rough earlier with the kidnappers, these kids should just go home and rest instead of coming to a bar.
"What the hell are they doing here?" I asked Ajhussi, turning my face away and trying to cover it with my hands in an unsuspicious manner.
"Wait, let me see." Then he snapped his fingers and a book with pink cover appeared in his hands.
Wow, this million-year-old guy is more of a magician than a reaper.
My eyes widened as I looked at the cover.
'A Lovely Girl'
"Aha! Found it! Look here, it was written right here, '' " Ajhussi exclaimed.
"Just a line?!", I exclaimed. Of course, I don't remember anything about them being in a bar if it's just a line!
"Yup, nothing else is mentioned about that." He said, the book still in his hands. Wait......If that's the original book then I can read the other half of the book and see all the events that will happen (since my knowledge about future events is almost over).
"Hey! Gimme that!" I said and held up my palm for him to place the book on it.
But that fucker never did anything I wanted.
"Opps~" He exclaimed sarcastically as he again snapped his finger and the book instantly caught fire and disappeared.
"YOU FUCKING SON OF A BITCH!!" I screamed at him while lunging forward to pounce and beat him senseless (drunk me is more violent) before he again snapped his fingers and disappeared and I crashed into an empty chair.
I heard people laughing at me but I was too drunk to care.
"Miss, are you alright?" Came a smooth voice speaking in Korean and I turned to see Caiden, extending his hand with a worried expression.
Shit! He is going to guess who I am!!
I didn't take his hand and just stared at him in horror, waiting for him to figure out who I was.

However, he never did.
"Miss, I am just trying to help you. No hidden intentions or anything." He said.
Of course, he wouldn't have any hidden intentions, he is a pure child.
I took his hand and looked at Mari and Traashid who were behind him.
Mari had a frown on his face (not really something new) while looking at me while Traashid just stared at me.
Are they blind? They really can't guess who I am?
Is this one of the novel world things where the Main Characters can't see through obvious disguise? Hah, good for me.
I thanked Caiden and when he was about to leave, Traashid asked, "Miss, are you alone?"
Why do you care??
"Yes." I replied.
"Do you want to join us then?" He asked.
No.
"Ah! That would be so great! I love making new friends!" Caiden cheerfully exclaimed.
"Sure." I said, only to not disappoint my sunshine child.
Traashid smiled a charming smile and my heart melted. No matter how much of trash he was to Adailia, he was a nice to everyone else. And I don't blame him for being trash to people who are trash.
I joined them and we talked for quite a while, we all were avoiding topic about what we do for a living and about our names or anything. We just talked about mythical creatures and which is the best food shop around here.
"So you finally found a living thing to talk to, huh?" The guy who was serving the beer said, looking at me.
Ugh! This is all Ajhussi's fault!
I didn't say anything and he chuckled, "Watching you drunk talk to yourself was entertaining for all the workers here. Too bad you got a company this time."
Okay now he is just being plain rude.
"Excuse me, but you're being too rude and making the lady uncomfortable." Traashid interjected with a glare, "Just go and do your work, nobody wants to hear your opinion about the lady." He said and something in his voice just made it impossible to disobey. The other guy just huffed and left the table.
He defended Adailia..no wait... He doesn't know I'm Adailia, otherwise he wouldn't have done that.
"Are you alright?" Asked a concerned Traashid (calling him trash after he defended me feels weird).
"Yeah. I don't let words like that to get to me." I replied, smiling a little.
"Sooooooo, I saw this huge snow leopard when we were in the north of Obelia and it was just so big but it was sitting still on a branch and I was like, 'how can the branch not break?'", Caiden said something absolutely random and then started laughing on his own while Mari threw him a weird look.
And then the conversation naturally flowed in.
I never thought it would be that fun to talk with the Platinum Trio. But then again, talking (about the things you love) itself is a fun activity besides reading.
Throughout the conversation, Traashid just stared at me and Ajhussi was nowhere to be found.
Finally, after what seemed like hours he appeared behind the chair where Caiden was sitting.
"Time to go home, Haeun-ah!" He said clapping his hands twice.
"Don't talk to me!" I snaped. I was still angry that he burned the book.
"Oh...... Okay..." Caiden mumbled sadly.
"Oh no! Dear, I wasn't talking to you." I said, giving apologetic eyes to the sad boy sitting in front of me.
"Then who were you talking to?" Mari asked looking behind Caiden.
"Uhh... Actually, I'm a medium who can see souls and speak to them." I lied.
All three of them gasped.
"That's..." Caiden started, his eyes wide, "SO COOL!!" He exclaimed, his cheerful aura returning.
"Yeah, that's pretty cool." Said the most handsome guy out of the three, chuckling cutely.
"Is there a soul behind me?", Caiden asked excitedly looking behind him.
"Yep." I said.
"What's it saying?"
"It says I need to get home, it's too late."
"Oh, then you should leave. Bye New Friend! Bye Mr. Soul!", Caiden cheerfully waved at me and then at Ajhussi (who was invisible to him). Ajhussi scoffed and looked at me, motioning me to follow.
"I'll walk you out." Raashid said (yeah I called him Raashid, after talking to him in disguise, he definitely is the sweetest child after Caiden and I can't be mean to him any longer without feeling like shit).
After he walked me out he spoke, quite shyly, "Umm..so what's your name?"
"What's yours?" I countered.
"Oh, I am Raas-Ra-Ra-Radish!" He stopped himself from telling his real name.
I chuckled and he blushed.
He blushes really easily.
"Hello, Raas-Ra-Ra-Radish! I'm Hermione Granger." I smoothly came up with a pseudo name.
He stared at me with a slightly shocked face.
What? Didn't I come up with a nice name?
Wait... I need to come up with a nice Background Character name!!
Rose or Lily, Choose now!!
"Just kidding! I'm Rose!", I said, smirking.
No!! Lily would've sounded better!!
"As much as I love to see you kids interacting like that, I don't have all day!" Ajhussi whined from behind me.
I mentally rolled my eyes.
"Bye Radish!" I said and he looked at me with a gentle smile.
"You were a fun person to talk to, Rose. See you soon!" He said, sounding genuinely happy.
I smiled.
It was nice seeing this side of him.
As I saw Raashid's fading figure, I blacked out.
I woke up the next day with my door being banged repeatedly.
"Lady Adailia!! You are very late!! You need to get to the Academy. " Seanna's voice came.
"Oh my God! What if she is sick or unconscious in her room!" Came the Archduchess' panicked voice.
"That's it! I'm exploding this barrier." Archdude's voice came followed by Aiden's telling him which explosive will be the best.
"I'M FINE!! I'll BE OUT IN A MINUTE!!" I yelled at the door.
The banging stopped and I sighed, quickly getting out of the bed. I wanted to sleep so bad, but the Academy has some strict attendance maintenance which couldn't be manipulated by anyone besides the royalty. It doesn't matter if you sleep in the class or skip periods, you need to get to the academy.
I must be really late for them to react like this. I washed my face, brushed my teeth, made my hair presentable and got out of the room with my backpack.
I already changed my clothes last night, so I didn't change them again (though I slightly reeked of alcohol).

After getting inside the Academy, I almost bumped into Caiden.
He looked tired but managed to smile and opened his mouth to say something before stopping and sniffing the air.
Why does he look like a cute golden retriever?
"Lady Adailia, did you drink alcohol?" he asked.
"No." Was my instant reply.
"Then what's this smell?" He asked
"Oh, that must be my new perfume." I lied smoothly.
He looked at me thoughtfully and said, "Okay. But you should probably change this perfume, people might misunderstand."
At times like this, I appreciate the author making his character this dumb.
"Sure." I said and when I was about to walk past him he again said, "Oh and Prince Raashid called you in the Student Council Room on the second floor. He has some important matter to discuss with you."
I froze.
I'm going to jail.
"But my classes.." I tried to find an excuse to not go.
"The Prince has already sent the letter to your subject professors regarding your absence the entire day." He said.
Yup. Definitely going to jail.
I shakily nodded and went where he said.
