《MC's Viking Warriors- Rogue #5》Katie

Dad left me at his house in the compound a few hours ago, the Viking Warrior had travelled too close to our compound, so him and half the men had left to stop him.
Even though I hate what that means, I don't ask or protest. I learnt a long time ago that my father didn't talk business with me, or listen to my complaints.
Sighing, I switch off the tv, I'm bored of Jane the Virgin for the time being, instead I move over to my small window seat and pick up my book.
Curling up under a blanket, I settle against a cushion and read my book. Every few moments movements outside the window catch my eye and I break the pattern of my reading.
Finally, I hear my father's voice in the compound grounds and I look up, pressing my face against the window to see him. I always worry when he's gone without me, there's always that knowledge that he's all I have.
I watch my father as he strides across the compound with a young man being dragged from the compound after him. I gasp and press my face further against the window to look at the good looking boy.
Even with a bloodied face, occupational hazard when you meet with my father, he is breathtaking. I forget myself as they walk right past my window, the boy glances up and catches my eye. He smirks and winks at me, making me squeal and fall backwards off the window seat.
I land on my bottom with a bump, after a few seconds, I peer back over the rim of the window and watch as my father pushes the man towards a bike.
Biting my lip, I slide down the wall and press my face into my knees as I feel a blush forming on my cheeks, he winked. He winked at me. A warm squirming appears in my stomach and spirals it's way down to a strange throb between my legs.

Confused, I stand up and try to walk off the foreign feeling. After a few moments, the feeling is gone and I sigh in relief. Then I think about the wink and the feeling flashes through me again.
Panicked with this strange feeling, I head over to my phone and call the one person I can talk to about this sensation. I know for a fact that this is not the kind of conversation I want to broach with my father.
Hey dad, I have a strange tingle in my downstairs when I think about your mortal enemy winking at me, but please don't slab him... yeah no that isn't going to work.
"Grace," I call when she picks up the phone.
"Omg! Katie, I'm so so sorry. I swear I will never do this again, please can we have a Disney night together?"
Sighing, I gnaw on the dead skin of my lip as I pause for a moment. My father always tells me that I'm too forgiving, but I miss my best friend and she made a mistake.
"Yeah," I laugh lightly, "I could really do with a Disney night too... could you do tonight?"
"Yes!" Grace squeals down the phone, I wince and pull it away from my ear slightly. Grace is the loud friend, I'm the quiet one, it's how we work.
"I'll be there in 14 minutes."
I begin to tell her that's perfect, until I remember that I'm not at my house, I'm at the compound.
"Perfect, I'll text you the address. Dad and I had to move for a bit, water damage." I lie quickly, and Grace takes the lie with no complaint.
We hang up with smiles and I feel a weight lifted from my chest, I hate conflict and missing Grace has been hanging over me.

My father doesn't come back home, I guess it's easier to get work done in person. It makes me feel bad that we don't live at the compound, his life would be so much easier without me there to complicate things.
"Katie!" I hear Grace calling out as she knocks on the door aggressively. I always wonder how so much aggression and noise can fit into such a small girl.
I thunder down the stairs and open the door to a beaming Grace.
"Hey!" She grins and throws her arms around my, "I've missed you so much, and I know it's my fault and I'm so sorry."
"It's ok Grace," and I mean it, it is ok, "you didn't mean it and I shouldn't have been such a crybaby."
We both laugh as Grace walks into the sitting room and flops down on the sofa.
"So, how long have you been keeping this place secret?"
"Oh, it's not our place, it's one of my dad's friend's places. We're just renting it for a while whilst the water damage gets fixed."
"Huh, that must suck." Grace articulates before reaching for a remote and turning on the tv. "So, what film should we watch first?"
"Ummm," I shift my feet anxiously from side to side as I try to find the words to ask Grace the burning question she has, is this what attraction feels like?
"Katie," as always, my best friend can read me, "what's wrong."
"So... there was this guy here today..."
"Oh," Grace's eyes light up and I have her full attention within a second, "a young guy?"
"Yeah... about my age..."
"And." Grace encourages.
"He winked at me!"
Grace squeals with a deafening volume and jumps up on the sofa and clutches at my hands.
"Katie! Finally!"
"But, I think something weird happened."
"What?"
"I..." I flush in embarrassment, "I have a tingle."
Grace laughs, but it sets me at ease.
"Oh my sweet, innocent Katie, you're just attracted to him. That's your vagina letting you know she wants a wink from him as well."
I gasp and squeal in surprise at her crude way of putting things but we both fall back against the sofa laughing together.
We settle on Mulan to begin our marathon and curl up under a blanket together.
Grace breaks our silence with her thoughts, it's clear she hasn't let this whole winking thing gone.
"So, are you going to see him again?"
"I-I don't even know his name." I bite my lip in disappointment as I realise the mystery guy was unlikely to ever walk back into this compound.
"Oh," Grace tries to mask her disappointment for me but she doesn't do a very good job.
"Well, try not to worry, I'm sure fate has something planned for you two... especially if your vagina has anything to say about it."
"Grace!"

8 244How to Wed A Devil
"Do you even know what will happen if this marriage doesn't happen?" he asked me."Your father's company shares will fall. Your father and brother would be bankrupt by the end of this month. And there is a good chance that he will end up in jail."I looked at him shocked."Don't look at me like that. I am not the one who insisted on this deal. Your father insisted on this so that your sister won't have any trouble with this marriage. He was sure that my family won't let this marriage happen. He made this deal so that my family cannot stop this marriage. The legal documents are already in court, so no one can stop the consequences if this marriage doesn't happen. He did it in such a way that my family can't turn their back on your sister as well as this deal gives financial support to your sister so that she doesn't have to depend on me or my family" he fumed at me."Now your sister ruined her own marriage and left everyone in this chaos. So stop your drama of being me your sister's love and so you don't want to marry me. Cut all this crap, get ready and come to the mandap if you don't want your family to pay", he commanded me and left the room. I just stood there gaping and realized that I don't have any choice other than to marry the devil.*********Best Rankings#1 in Generalfiction#1 in doctors#6 in Wattpadindia#7 in marriage#1in Headstrong#4 in Wife
