《The Babysitter✔️》Chapter||24

"Mom? Dad?" I asked when I got home.
"Alexis!!!"My mom shouted as she threw her arms around me.
She was so short and slim, but she had one hell of a hug.
My dad came around the corner shortly after her and threw his arms around us both.
"How have you been sweetie?" My mom asked sweetly.
"Fine. How was the case?" I asked.
"Long. Very long." My dad answered, ruffling my hair.
"And we missed you and Tyler so much." My mom cooed.
"I missed you guys too, but remember when I told you about how I was babysitting for the Johnson's?" I asked hesitantly.
"Yes..." My dad answered, his brow furrowed "You never told us how it was going. Is the oldest boy treating you ok? I hear he's bad news."
What.
Do I tell them about jace and me?
What will his reaction be?
Oh boy definitely not.
"Oh he's really not that bad. He's actually really sweet," I assured my parents.
"It looks like the Johnson boy has our daughter wrapped around his finger," My dad chuckled with my mom, "I don't trust him, how much time do you spend at that place anyways?"
"Uhh I usually spend the nights and..." I was cut off. The smile wiped clean off my dad's face. "You're spending the night at their house?"
"Yeah, it just makes it so much easier for me to get the kids ready for school in the morning, and I sleep in the guest bedroom, and I promise I'm responsible."
"Dan, honey, give her a break." Mom said.
"Lola dear, I'm just making sure that-"
"No dan, no buts. Lexi is very trustworthy. It's Tyler you should worry about."

"Tyler isn't like that anymore mom." I sighed.
"Oh does he have a girlfriend now?" Mom asked.
"No..." I still need to talk to Ben for whatever Tyler needed.... that could definitely wait.
"Exactly my point." Mom said defiantly.
"Do you know what college this Johnson boy is going to? And I want to meet all of the kids considering you live their now" My dad continued.
"We haven't really talked about colleges. And I can bring the family over tonight if you want."
"We would love that," My mom said answering for the both of them.
"Well, I got to get back to the house and make snacks and stuff like that. See you later mom and dad, love you."
"Love you too sweetie." They chorused as they walked me to the door.
...
My dad opened the door to greet me and the Johnson's.
I had prepared Jace for my father. He totally understood when I told him that my parents didn't know about our relationship yet... considering it might effect our living arrangements.
"Come in darlings!" My mom shouted, "Dinner's on the table."
At the table, somehow Jace ended up between my dad and Tyler while Hallie and my mom were busy bonding about something random and Cal was scarfing down the food on his plate.
"So, Johnson boy." My dad said in a low voice.
I saw the triumph in Tyler's eyes as he took in Jace's sunken posture and terrified look. Tyler had agreed to keep my relationship with Jace a secret, but there was no doubt he would enjoy this dinner.
"Yes sir?" Jace asked with raised eyebrows.
"I understand my daughter is living at your house," my dad said questioningly.
"Uhh yes, it's pretty convenient for her to get the kids ready for school when I have an early soccer practice," Jace calmly explained.

"Is that so?" My dad questioned acting interested.
Jace and I tried our hardest to avoid eye contact through out the dinner. I'm pretty sure if we looked at each other we would burst out laughing.
As the dinner started to wrap up, my mom took Hallie away from the table to get my old Barbie dolls from the attic.
Soon it was time for the Johnson's and me to go home.
...
After I read the letter I felt butterflies in my stomach. College was getting closer and closer.
2 days had passed when I finally got a call from a random number at ten oclock at night.
"Hey is this Alexis?" the voice asked.
"Yeah that's me," I said.
"Ok great, I'm Michael and I'll be your peer leader."
"Ok," I said nervously.
"If you have any questions feel free to ask me, and at the start of the semester we can find a time to meet," he explained smoothly.
"Ok," I said again awkwardly.
"Remember to enjoy your last month or so of highschool. You'll be hearing from me soon," he said cheerfully.
"I will, thank you," I said before he hung up.
"Who was that?" Jace asked as he walked into the room and began making one of his health smoothies.
"Jace, we've never really talked about college. Do you know where you're going?" I asked.
"I had an early acceptance to Duke last year for soccer.
I sighed "Why didn't I know that?"
"You didn't answer my question. Who was that?"
"My peer leader, Michael." I replied, realizing my mistake a bit too late.
"Michael?" Jace asked.
"Jace relax, I love you." I replied.
"Yeah, but Michael better be a fucking girl." Jace growled.
"Michael is a boy." I said timidly.
"Fuck off Auburn." Jace exclaimed, taking deep breaths in and out.
"If you hang out with him, I will be there." Jace said possessively.
"What, you don't trust me?" I challenged.
"No I don't trust boys around my girlfriend." Jace said through gritted teeth.
"Jace, I get the whole possessive thing is supposed to be hot, but take it down a notch." I said.
"Lexi, you're my girlfriend." Jace tried to reason.
"But I'm also your equal Jace. If you want to be there when I meet with Michael, then how do you think I feel when you talk to other girls?" I asked.
"It's different." Jace sighed.
"it's not different. They like you. They think they can seduce you into cheating on me. Guys don't touch me, but the second I talk to one on the phone you go all jealous possessive macho boyfriend."
"But lexi, you're the one for me."
"And you're the one for me Jace, but you have to trust me."
"Ok." Jace said quietly. "Ok."
"Now get the popcorn, I'm in the mood for a movie." I commanded.
"Netflix and chill?" Jace asked smirking.
"In your dreams." I retorted.
"Aww babe, how'd you know?" Jace cooed sarcastically.
"Oh Jace." I sighed with a smile while shaking my head
