《King of The Vamps》Dream

Amaryllis shot up in bed as she abruptly woke up. Her heart was racing and her breath was coming out in fast pants.
She looked down at her body seeing that she was still clothed. She looked at her body in confusion. She felt no pain between her legs and she wasn't bleeding. Her head no longer hurt and she wasn't on the floor.
It was all a dream.
She almost cried in relief. Her innocence was still intact.
After having regained normal breathing, Amaryllis stood up from her bed, cringing as the cold concrete met her feet.
She walked across the small, dark room and opened the door. She needed to leave her room and breathe for a moment. She also hoped to find a bathroom for her mouth was quite parched.
Amaryllis was still in the clothes she had received the day before. She hoped she would get sleeping clothes because her's were filthy from cleaning the dungeon floors.
From what she saw, there was no bathroom in the dungeons. She headed for the stairs as chills broke out on her skin both from the chilly air and from the thought of being down there with psycho vampires.
As quietly as she could manage, she walked up the winding concrete steps until she reached the top. Amaryllis was met with pristine granite floors. She gulped as she took a tentative step onto the granite. She didn't want to taint such a perfect surface.
She didn't see anybody walking around, nor did she hear anyone. She was glad; she did not feel like being confronted by a vampire.
The castle was dark as most vampires were asleep, in the rooms, or out enjoying the darkness of the night. Enjoying the darkness also included hunting.
Amaryllis wasn't sure what time it was, but it still must have been night time.
She saw doors lining the hallway and Amaryllis hoped one of them was a bathroom. She held her breath as she opened the first door, afraid of opening a door to a vampire's bedroom.
Thankfully it was just a closet of some sort. The next door she opened was the jackpot. She quickly entered the bathroom and locked the door. She didn't dare turn the light on because she didn't want to attract a vampire.
Amaryllis couldn't see, so she felt around with her hands to find the sink. Finally, she felt a counter and then a raised bowl. She assumed the bowl was the sink so she felt around for the faucet.

Finding it, she turned the water on bowed her head. She sighed as the cool water met her tongue. She was badly in need of water. She hadn't drunk anything since the day before at breakfast.
After drinking up some water, Amaryllis sighed and sat down on the floor. She didn't want to go back down to the dungeons. She crossed her legs and held her head up with her hands. Her elbows rested on her knees.
She yawned as tiredness seeped back into her body. She knew she had to leave the bathroom eventually before she fell asleep, but she really didn't want to leave.
Fifteen minutes later, she pulled herself up from the floor and unlocked the bathroom door. She quietly pulled the door open, hoping she wouldn't see anybody out in the hallway.
She cracked the door open and looked around, seeing no one. She was about to take a step out, but then she saw a figure moving toward her. She couldn't tell who it was because it was so dark, but then tingles broke out on her skin. Something called to her, telling her to open the door and go to the person.
It was King Ulric.
She held in her gasp of shock, and quickly but carefully closed the door as to not make any noise.
She stood tensed and not breathing behind the closed door as she waited for the King to leave the area.
She waited a few minutes, positive that the King had to have left. She cracked the door back open, double checking to make sure no one was in sight. She then stepped out of the room and closed the door.
She started to head back to the dungeon, but then jumped sky high as she felt a large hand wrap around her upper arm.
Fear encased her entire being, but so did tingles.
I hate the stupid tingles.
Right?
The hand tightened against her arm, and she winced. "Turn around," King Ulric's calm voice pierced the air.
Amaryllis turned around, focused on keeping her eyes on the ground.
"What are you doing up here little human?" He questioned, his voice dark and sinister.
"I needed a drink," Amaryllis responded in a quiet voice, but loud enough for him to hear.
"Ah. And did I say you were allowed to leave?" He asked, but it was more of a statement than a question.

"No, you didn't." She said, on the verge of tears. She was scared of what the King would do to her. She gulped as she thought of the dream she had.
"I am sorry, King Ulric," Amaryllis said, hoping the king would have mercy on her.
"Oh, you are sorry? You did something in my castle without my permission, and I should just forgive you?" The King said with a laugh, but without humor.
Amaryllis didn't know how to answer, so she awkwardly shifted her weight from foot to foot as she stared at the floor.
"Answer me!" The King's deep voice rumbled through the castle, causing Amaryllis to jump.
"No, you shouldn't forgive me!" Amaryllis said, scared for her life. She wished more than anything that she was at home with her brother and parents.
"That's right. I shouldn't have to forgive you."
Amaryllis nodded. Why did I leave my cell, she thought to herself.
"You know what, I think I need a drink as well." The King smirked.
He pulled her arm to make her follow him. She wondered if the King was going to drink her blood.
After walking down several hallways, they finally exited through a door. They were outside. Soon she felt as if she was flying through the air. And she almost was. The King was using his ridiculously fast vampire speed to get down the mountain.
Soon they were practically flying through the town before he slowed down in front of a brick building. When they entered, there were many male vampires feeding off of skimpily dressed female humans.
She saw the bloody necks of the girls, seeing bloody, raw puncture wounds all over their skin. She wanted to throw up at the sight. She wanted to help the girls, but she had no idea how.
Is the King going to let these men do to me what they are doing to these other girls?
She tensed up in fear as the King pushed her up against the wall. Here it goes, Amaryllis thought to herself, he is going to kill me.
She was surprised when the King didn't touch her but grabbed a dark headed brunette who was about Amaryllis' height and sunk his sharp, long fangs into her neck.
She didn't know why, but she felt a tinge of jealousy. She didn't want to see the King feed off of other women.
Why do I even care, Amaryllis thought to herself; wondering why she felt things for the King that no one else had ever made her feel.
Amaryllis felt bad for the girl as her eyes rolled to the back of her head. The King was draining the blood from her body. She wanted to tell him to stop, but it was as if she was frozen in the moment.
When the girl's body started to go limp, Amaryllis pushed off of the wall. "Stop! You are going to kill her," She exclaimed as she walked toward the King.
The King rolled his eyes but released the dying girl. He pushed the girl into Amaryllis' body. Amaryllis almost dropped the girl on the floor as she was wasn't prepared for a body to be flung into her arms.
"Then revive her yourself," the King said with a smirk on his bloody lips. His tongue then moved across them, wiping the blood away.
"I want you at breakfast in the morning," the King said and then walked out of the building.
Amaryllis couldn't believe that the King did something so awful to this young girl. She also couldn't believe that he left her in this building, surrounded by bloodthirsty male vampires. She would have to walk through the little village and all the way up the mountain to get back to the castle.
She looked around hopelessly, she couldn't save the girl. With the amount of blood the King took from her, she would need a blood donner.
A vampire stood up from a chair a few feet away from her. The hairs on Amaryllis' body stood up as the man approached. She hoped he wouldn't touch her.
She was surprised when the man took the girl from Amaryllis' arms. He bit into his own arm and placed the bloody punctures against her lips. The girl sucked on the man's blood and within seconds she was up and walking again.
"She was good in bed," the man shrugged and walked away.

Dungeon Core Chat Room.
This is a slower-paced "experiment and dungeon building" web novel that tries to use the idea of peer-to-peer communication with Dungeon Cores instead of Dungeon to slave monster communication to break up the detailed dungeon building. Rank 1 description: (minimum met for system initialization...detailed description as follows) Each race was given a system by the gods to make up for their shortcomings and balance their place in this world. Humans: Abysmally bad at understanding and using magic unable to use more than the lowest of magic were given the "Skill System" magic in the form of premade skills with use, study, and mastery tied to experience. Elves: Intuitively understand magic and have long lives leading to vast knowledge and skill in their chosen fields. However, as a species, they have nearly zero sex drive and less than low fertility, so they were gifted the "World Tree System" with experience gained through the care of natural areas – gifting the chance of children to increase their numbers without dirty copulation. All “natural” or “wild” monsters are given an "Evolution system" designed around killing and consuming as many creatures as possible, slowly increasing strength and, at thresholds, allowing mutations to alter them multiple times. Dungeon cores are different. Unlike humans, they can see, manipulate and live off mana. Unlike Elves, they naturally crystallize after extended periods of time in high mana level areas. However, they cannot easily move or communicate and typically go insane without companionship. As a species other than the odd eccentric they are unimaginative. Brute forcing solutions without the drive to truly innovate. Thus they have been gifted with the "Dungeon Connection System" a magical version of the internet accessible by their peers that allows them to barter and sell: bait, traps, monsters, and knowledge, as well as entertain each other with “adventure streams” using exciting recorded battles and humorous reels of arrogant chumps biting off more than they can chew to often fatal effects. This is the casual story of a dungeon unluckily spawned far from potential adventurers forced to innovate beyond its peers to find its place in this world. Rank 2 Description: Justification. I've been on a dungeon core kick for months and while I love the genre – it's sparse with entries. Often the forced conflict gets repetitive and frantic solving of threats "power levels" the protagonist to god levels to progress the plot – taking away the nice steady progression fantasy I'm looking for. (Progression in this story is linked to how strong of monsters/traps/whatever he can create not his "level"...this is demonstrated by some of his newer monsters beating his older monsters not with discrete "this monster has 10 attack this one has 40") Additionally, the focus on 3rd parties with their drama takes away from the reason I’m reading dungeon core novels in the first place – I'm looking for magical crafting, experimentation and kingdom building – not defence from higher and higher levelled enemies looking to steal/destroy/control the MC. This novel is kind of just me writing the story I wish I could read. I like thinking about the experimentation that can be done in fantasy settings using 'mana' as an excuse to make up rules and try to keep them internally consistent. IE once I define how a rule works, I'm going to commit to keeping it – no breaking hard truths I've given when it's convenient, even if it backs me into a corner. Hopefully, that should make the story interesting to read even if it's SOL and less action-oriented. There will be problems to solve and a clear progression in strength (of created monsters and knowledge) however due to not wanting to force conflict for the sake of conflict the general theme will be closer to slice of life with few action sequences and no overarching goal so please keep that in mind when picking this up as the genre is not for everyone. Finally, I have a clear goal of what I want from this story (not an endless romp but a series of arcs and then a conclusion that's a couple of dozen medium-sized chapters long) I want to commit to finishing it or at least bringing it to a point of rest. I hate all the engaging stories that stop with a “hiatus” indefinitely so in the event I lose motivation I'll work to end this even if the ending becomes rushed/unsatisfying just to give a sense of closure. I’m planning on including several polls in terms of direction and taking feedback heavily into account if I get enough readers (but may choose to ignore it if it deviates too far from the direction I want to take this as in feedback like: “The MC needs a cartoonishly evil arch-enemy that wants to enslave him and force the mc to pump out magic items” or “the MC needs to make a body and learn teleportation then live with humans” will get shot down without consideration.)
