《King of The Vamps》Innocence

Amaryllis shrieked in surprise as a hand grasped her upper arm. She quickly looked up and gasped as she was met with the body of a vampire.
She hadn't seen this man yet during her stay. He was not as big as the King, but he was very large none the less, one of the biggest men she had ever seen. He could easily snap her like a twig or drain the blood from her body.
"Hey, don't be afraid," the man said in a strong, yet gentle voice. He must've noticed the scared expression on her face.
His words soothed her, but she was still very tense and on edge.
"My name is Thierry. I am Ulric's second in command, basically his second-hand man," he said with a soft smile gracing his lips. He seemed nice and his smile met his eyes, but Amaryllis was still wary of him. She knew how deceptive vampires could be.
As Amaryllis calmed down a bit more, she looked over his features. He had blonde, almost white hair that was very curly atop his head. She knew he was a royal, but not of the King's bloodline. He also had a very muscular physique and was quite tall. He was handsome, but she wasn't attracted to him. For some reason, King Ulric had captured all of her attention.
Thierry held his hand out, but Amaryllis hesitated to grab it. "Please, I want to help you," he said softly.
Amaryllis nodded and grasped the man's hand, allowing him to pull her up from her position on the floor that she assumed after having her panic attack.
"I will clean this up for you," he said, reaching down to grab the cleaning supplies.
"No," Amaryllis exclaimed. "The King said I had to," she said. She didn't want to clean the blood filled room, but she didn't want to face the consequences if she didn't.
Thierry smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about Ulric. It will be fine, the rest of these cells are clean, so you can go back to your room."
"No, really, I can do it," Amaryllis said, reaching to grab the cleaning supplies out of his hand. He moved his hand so she couldn't grab the items and shook his head.
"No, I will do it, now go to your room," Theirry said, still nice but with authority lacing his tone.
"Thank you," Amaryllis said and turned around to go back to her cell.
She left the door to her cell open in case Thierry wanted her to come back out. Even though he was a vampire, a very high-up vampire at that, she wasn't really afraid of him. In fact, she hoped he would be her friend during her time there.
A little while later she heard a knock on the door. She looked up from staring at the floor and saw it was Theirry. Thankfully it wasn't the King.

"What are you doing in the cells? Why aren't you in the human quarters," he asked, confusion lacing his voice.
"Oh, this is where the King said I would stay," Amaryllis said while she looked down, ashamed of herself.
"He did?" Theirry asked.
"Yes," Amaryllis nodded.
"That bastard," Thierry cursed, looking angry.
Amaryllis didn't know what to say, so she clasped her hands together and stood awkwardly, staring at her feet.
"Well, I will see you around. What is your name?" He asked.
"Amaryllis," she said.
"I will see you around, Amaryllis." With that, he gave her a small smile and walked out before she could even thank him again for helping her. He smiled at her, but this time Amaryllis didn't think it was too sincere.
What had I done? So much for having a friend here.
Amaryllis walked into the hallway and looked at the little clock hanging on the wall. She noticed it was almost time to go to dinner, but she was too exhausted from the day to go up there.
She walked back into her cell and laid down on the uncomfortable mattress. She thought about her best friend and how obsessed she would be with Thierry. Nicole had a soft spot for blondes and only ever slept with blondes.
Amaryllis smiled at the memory of Nicole trying to convince her to lose her virginity to a blonde boy about a week before the Harvest, but Nicole failed miserably.
"Come on Amaryllis, just lose it already," Nicole groaned as Amaryllis, Sophie, and herself sat in the back room of the grocery store they all worked at during their lunch break.
"There is this cute boy I met who is perfect for you. His name is Logan and best of all, he is blonde!" Nicole shrieked as she clapped her hands together.
"No Nicole," Amaryllis groaned back, tired of hearing her best friend drag on about the topic.
"Why? There is nothing wrong with having a little bit of fun," Nicole said.
"I'm not losing my virginity to a random dude. I happen to think that being abstinent is perfectly fine. Just because you have one night stands doesn't mean I have to. Besides, no guys like me anyway, I've been single my whole life," Amaryllis added, defending herself.
She was never the girl to flirt with boys or wear revealing clothing. She was the modest type of young girl who didn't care about dating. Sure, she wondered what it would be like to have a boyfriend, but she wasn't obsessed with the idea like Nicole was.
Even if she wanted a boyfriend, her father would never let her leave the house to visit one. He was too overprotective, too afraid that a vampire would hurt her in some way. After all, young human girls were popular amongst male vampires.
Amaryllis wasn't the type to warm random men's beds either. She wanted to find the right person who she would marry, start a family with, and live happily ever after. That would be the man that would claim her, and no one else.

"There is nothing wrong with her waiting until marriage, Nicole." Sophie defended.
"I know, I know," Nicole moaned.
"I don't think that people should wait until marriage if they don't want to, but I do think that the world could use a bit more modesty," Amaryllis said.
"Fine. You'll always be my innocent friend." Nicole sighed.
Amaryllis rolled her eyes. "Just because I'm a virgin doesn't mean I'm innocent," she said, referring to the gore and bloodshed that she, as well as every other person in this town, had seen when the vampires took over.
"I meant sexually," Nicole whispered as Amaryllis' words cast a gloomy mood over the group.
"I know," Amaryllis sighed, feeling bad about creating negativity in the room.

Amaryllis felt tears well up in her eyes at the thought of her two best friends, but she willed herself not to cry. She had cried enough since she had been there.
Amaryllis soon fell asleep, her only shelter from the cold air in the dungeon a single thin cover.
A few hours later she was awoken from her sleep by the creaking of the door, indicating it was opening. Amaryllis' heart rate spiked as fear consumed her.
She squeezed her eyes shut and willed the person to go away, but she knew they wouldn't. As the person walked into the room, Amaryllis immediately knew who it was. King Ulric. Her body shivered every time he was near, and she had this need to touch him when he was close.
She kept her back turned away from the door and didn't move, trying to show that she was still asleep and hopefully the beast of a man would leave her alone.
"I know you are awake, little girl," Amaryllis heard the King say in a deep, menacing voice. She felt fear race through her body once again at the tone in his voice.
What was he going to do?
In less than a second, Amaryllis was ripped from her bed and thrown onto the cold, hard floor. She groaned in pain as her head hit the concrete.
The King was on top of her within seconds, straddling her waist.
"What are you doing," Amaryllis yelled as he began to shred her clothing with sharp, long, black nails that grew out of his fingers.
"I know what you did," the King said darkly, making Amaryllis want to cry.
"Please stop," she screamed as the King removed her tattered jeans from her legs, scratching her soft skin with his razor sharp nails in the process.
He then tore her shirt and bra off of her body in one swift movement, quickly doing the same to her underwear. The King ignored Amaryllis' pleas to stop as he pinned her arms above her head to stop trying to hit his hands away.
Amaryllis was crying as her clothes, as well as her dignity, was stripped away from her. She begged him to stop, but he refused to listen. She was terrified of what was going to happen.
Her heart almost stopped as the man began to unbutton his own pants, and soon his bottom half was naked above her own bare body.
She screamed, hoping someone, anyone would hear and come to her rescue, but no one did.
She pushed at his chest, but her hands were roughly grabbed and pushed above her head. "Stop, stop, stop," she begged, her voice hoarse from all of the screaming.
She was terrified, terrified that the beast was going to viciously rip away her innocence. Something that was meant for the love of her life, not for him.
She continued screaming even though her throat was sore and in pain. She continued thrashing on the ground, trying to get away, but it was no use. She finally stopped her movements when her legs were spread open and she felt a searing pain in her core.
It felt as though a knife had been forced into her opening, cutting her from the inside out. All Amaryllis could do was lay there and cry silent tears as her virgin body was being taken advantage of.
She was frozen. She couldn't scream or move. She was just frozen in fear and in pain.
It seemed to last forever, the searing pain went on forever. All she could feel was hot, red pain in her core and all over her body. She felt the pressure of his body on top of her. She felt every time he pulled out and then viciously thrust back in.
Finally, Amaryllis felt hot spurts of his seed enter her. He pulled out quickly after and stood up, putting his jeans back on, and leaving the cell.
Amaryllis laid on the cold floor with tears streaming down her face as she watched her rapist leave the room.
After a few minutes, Amaryllis reached in between her legs. She groaned in pain as her fingers met her raw core. She pulled her hand back and saw a white liquid on her fingers mixed with her blood.
She felt his seed and her own blood run down her thighs. Soon she felt the liquids dry as she continued to lie there.
Amaryllis laid on the floor for hours, crying on the floor in pain as she thought about how her innocence was taken away from her.
She felt disgusting, ashamed of herself. She felt tainted and dirty. She felt no one would ever want her.
She wanted to die.

A Standard Model of Magic
The world ended, and magic came back. The part our parents didn't expect, was for Science to break on reentry. Twenty years after the apocalypse, with our nations dismantled and hidden continents unearthed, a new generation has grown up in the wreckage of 21st century civilization. For us, the fantastic is at our doorstep and we have had no choice but to fight back. Meanwhile, the laws of nature bend and break at the whims of immortal gods, all of which are now dead and none of which are content to stay that way. But we cannot afford to give up. We are the stewards of a rewritten century, in which a little luck and a whole lot of magic might make anything possible – maybe even a world better than the one we lost. A Standard Model of Magic is a complete overhaul of my old story A Storm in the Fall. I'm afraid I was unhappy with the LitRPG elements, which I don't mind reading, but I apparently loath writing. Sorry. Once I'd made the choice to decouple the story from the OF that inspired it and reconfigure the magic system to my satisfaction, little of the original plotline survived. I will be salvaging most of my original characters, and I will keep some elements which are endemic to the genre, but that is all. I don't have an update schedule which I can commit to yet, but I will try to maintain a weekly pace.(This is currently RoyalRoad exclusive, since I'm lazy. If you find it posted elsewhere, it wasn't me and it wasn't with permission) If you're interested, I've set up a discord.
