Evening soon came around, from what little light there was outside, it was hard to tell. There was lots of noise with everyone talking, but still Aerilyn kept to herself, she watched Eli make his way around the room, trying to figure out how they could escape or what he could do.
There were a few sky lights Aerilyn was enjoying looking up at, she could make out the sky when it was there and now she was looking for the stars. She was in my own little world, just for a moment.
That was until she honed her hearing, she could hear a woman's voice and another man, they sounded a bit different to the rest, almost more refined. Not so common. They had a twang to their voice, but only so slightly.
Aerilyn grew curious and looked up, scanning the room for these intriguing voices.
Across the room there were a few men huddled together talking and playing cards. There were more guards than usual and prisoners scattered about, there was nothing noticeable on a first glance.
Aerilyn made her way across the room again because she could not locate the voices. Scanning her eyes back towards the door, only the man she had heard was talking now.
Aerilyn eyes stopped.
She noticed a blonde haired woman.
But she was already looking at Aerilyn from across the other side of the room with a stoic expression. Her face looked poised and focused. Their eyes met and Aerilyn didn't know whether to feel fear or pleasure. The way the light hit her eyes made them shine brighter.
Her intense gaze made Aerilyn want to cower and look away, but she couldn't.
She had blonde mid length hair, a muscly frame which you wouldn't know straight away as it was under her clothing, but Aerilyn could tell.
Her clothing was a thin layer of armour, black and gold, with a cloak. It looked expensive and fancy.
She looked like someone who held power.
The blonde looked down at the ground as if in deep thought, breaking their eye contact, what could be on her mind? Aerilyn didn't understand why she was looking at her of all people.
The blonde lifted her gaze back to the people she was with and replied to them.

In that moment Aerilyn looked away, growing angrier by the second that they were trapped here but curious about the blonde across the room and being mad at herself for being curious about a vampire, which she so clearly was.
After that encounter, Aerilyn didn't take much notice as they passed around the room, she kept her eyes down as that was the safest way to encounter a room with vampires.
One wrong look and she could be toast.
Aerilyn kept herself busy, talking to herself inside her head, thinking of ways to pass the time in this room like prison.
After about an hour, she looked up to see what was happening, breaking out of her trance.
She was still sat on the ground with her back against the wall.
Aerilyn found the blonde cautiously approaching her with Nilsa.
They both crouched down to Aerilyn's level, so they could take a closer look at her.
The blonde on closer inspection was far more beautiful than Aerilyn had expected, her skin looked smooth, her hair like silk and her eyes a shade she had never encountered before.
She looked like she was holding her breath, it was hard to tell, as though she was in pain, this brought Aerilyn back to the conversation between Nilsa and the guard about her blood, was she affected by it too?
'This is Aerilyn' Nilsa said to the blonde, who was nodding to the brown haired girl in acknowledgement without taking her eyes off of her.
Aerilyn was paying Nilsa no attention. She stared back for longer than she wanted to admit, part of her wondered who she was and why she was here.
'How is your stay here?' The first words to come out of the blonde.
Aerilyn scoffed at the question.
Her voice was softer than expected, but like Nilsa, Aerilyn thought she probably knew how frightened she was and was careful with how she spoke to her.
'You've got to be joking' Aerilyn muttered, having had enough, her stay here had been awful so far, not that she would have cared.
'I am Solenne' Aerilyn saw a flash of red in her eyes but as soon as it came it had disappeared, they were back to golden brown. Aerilyn just nodded uneasy, it felt like she was radiating something, but she wasn't sure what.

Solenne noticed the way Aerilyn reacted to her, almost with disgust, but there was a hint of desire also.
Nilsa looked between them like she was figuring something out, she stood up before Solenne.
Aerilyn had a feeling she hadn't gone round the room introducing herself to everyone in this manner and that she had broken protocol for some odd reason.
Nilsa seemed uncomfortable with it but had backed off, sensing she needed to get away from them.
Solenne, holding her eye contact, carried on looking at Aerilyn, which felt like forever, in reality it was like a a few minutes, to which she stood back up without saying anything.
Normally you would be told off for looking at a vampire directly, especially one in such a high power but she let it slip for some odd reason. She had a slight smile on her face as she passed Aerilyn and carried on.
After they had left, Aerilyn stood up and made her way over to her bed. One of the friendlier guards brought her to a halt just before.
'So you met Solenne then huh' he was amused.
Ren appeared from the side. 'Don't use her name' he commanded.
'And' Aerilyn commented.
'Who is she?' she asked, having figured she must have been important to have been allowed in.
'Oh she's important, you'll find out soon enough' the guard said.
'She's your worst nightmare' Ren responded and shoved Aerilyn out the way.
She brushed herself off and stood back up, ignoring them both after that.
An hour or so later, some food was finally brought to the group. Not nearly enough to fill the hole they had created but at least it was something.
Aerilyn spent the rest of the evening keeping to herself, not wanting to mingle, she didn't see the point. Why get attached when they don't know what's going to happen. She got into bed just before lights out and looked over at Evelyn, she smiled and asked if Aerilyn was alright.
Aerilyn nodded.
'What do you think they are going to do, nothing has happened so far, this doesn't make sense, they processed us ages ago' Evelyn pouted.
'I know and showing us off to those so called important people, might as well said they went food shopping' Aerilyn retorted.
Evelyn let out a muffled laugh.
'We really shouldn't be making a joke out of it, they could take us at anytime, we need to figure a way out of here, we should be coming up with an escape plan'
Aerilyn knew all plans of escape were pointless, the vampires were far too intuitive and would realise straight away what they are up to. She didn't fancy being tortured.
'I heard some of them are making weapons out of old metal here, maybe we can go and ask them' Evelyn continued.
Aerilyn shook her head and looked down in contemplation, weighing up how that would go.
'That's a bad idea, I don't want to be involved with that, if they find out we are through' she was scared and had good reason to be.
'You didn't hear it from me, but your brother is involved' Aerilyn sighed, of course he was. He was the type to think he could escape and never really thought things through.
'Thank you for telling me though, I'll keep an eye out on him'.
'What did you think of that woman and man? They seemed important' Evelyn questioned.
Aerilyn shook her head, recalling how the evening went.
'I don't know, but I think Saryn knows more than he is letting on'
Ev nodded her head in agreement.
'We can ask him tomorrow'.
The girls smiled at each other, Aerilyn turned away getting comfy into bed before turning the other way. It was hard to fall asleep.
She missed the sun on her skin, the fresh air hitting her face as it had done in the car, being locked up like this was not how she had seen her life going.
They had to see what the next move from the vampires was then take it from there.
