《The Queen's everything gxg》Chapter 5

Aerilyn woke up from her sleep, hoping she was anywhere but here. This room was horrible, basically prison.

She stretched her arms above her head and looked round to check on everyone, they were still here, she could relax slightly knowing none of them had been killed yet.

Breakfast soon came, Ev and Aerilyn made their way over to eat the same gruel they had been having everyday since they got here. It was lukewarm and tasted like crap, but if it kept them alive they would eat it.

Aerilyn looked at Ev thinking about what happened last night.

"You know we need to ask Saryn what is going on today' she lowly whispered so no one could hear her.

Ev took a moment to think. Eyeing her.

"We can go and ask him after breakfast but I don't think he will tell us what he knows' she whispered.

"There is a resistance, we know that much, he could be a part of it. Things like that are top secret, I'm sure he would only tell us what we need to know at the time to avoid it falling apart' Ev continued.

Aerilyn nodded, they had been travelling in search of a camp with him when this happened.

They all finished their breakfast and put their plates away before hesitantly making their way over to Saryn. He was sat with Aerilyn's brother.

"Morning Saryn' they both said.

"Hey where's my morning" Eli scoffed. Aerilyn just knocked his shoulder and laughed. He pouted back at the two girls.

"Morning girls" Saryn spoke.

Ev and Aerilyn looked between each other, trying to get the other to speak.

"What is it?" Saryn asked. His eyebrows furrowed in confusion as to what was to be said next. He waited patiently.

Ev spoke up as usual, she is the braver out the two of course.

"We know that you know what is going on and who those people were last night"Ev bravely admitted.

Saryn's face turned sour and his demeanour changed straight away, he tended up.

"Those aren't people they are monsters and it's better that you don't know what I do. That way you can't be tortured, I don't want to see any harm come to you both". He spat.

Aerilyn shook her head.

"It's too late for that, we are here now, we need to know" Aerilyn insisted.

Saryn sighed, rubbing his temple with his fingers.

"All you need to know is, is that I'm going to find a way out. Those people last night were very high up on the chain of command. Stay away from them, they are dangerous". He spoke more calmly.

"Yes, I saw that women taking too much of an interest in you Aerilyn" Eli spoke worriedly. He had obviously been watching the interaction.

Saryn's head snapped to my brother at the mention of it. "Why did you not tell me this straight away" he pressured.

Eli stood up straighter, looking back at Saryn trying to search for answers.

"I just thought it was because her blood probably smelt nice, everyone has been talking about it after all". Eli muttered.

Aerilyn didn't like being spoken about like this and snapped.

"Guys stop!!"

Saryn looked at them for a second then looked away.

"I need some time to think, I'll talk to you later" Saryn said before walking away.

"Eli what do you know" Aerilyn gasped.

He looked at Saryn walking away.

"Nothing much, but I do think he knows who they were and he's not happy about it, we'll have to figure it it out by ourselves, I can't see them keeping us here much longer anyways. Saryn mentioned an auction"

Their eyes widened.

"What did you just say" Ev and Aerilyn both almost shouted.

"A human auction, you can hear can't you"

"Did you not think to mention this before" Aerilyn punched his arm.

She pondered what would happen, would they be split up from her only family, would she be used as a blood bag, would she die. The thoughts raced round her mind at the possibilities.

"I'll always look after you Aerilyn, I won't let anything happen to you" he said protectively, wrapping his arm around her.

Aerilyn some how knew he wouldn't always be able to fulfil that, but it wasn't his fault.

The next few days passed by, more slowly than Aerilyn cared to admit, there was nothing for any of them to do and it was hard to keep themselves entertained.

The guards weren't allowed to talk to them unless they had been told to do so and they were bored out of my mind. It's not like they had much technology anymore, that had all gone.

But still, Aerilyn was alive and that counted for something, she woke up and followed the same routine, of waiting in the queue to get her food, making small talk with everyone and then brushing her teeth. She had kept an eye on Eli, hoping he wouldn't do anything stupid.

Saryn on the other hand had been quiet, too quiet.

'Morning' Evelyn passed by her.

'Morning Ev' Aerilyn responded.

'Roll on another boring day' Evelyn rolled her eyes.

'I know, they could at least give us something to do' Evelyn had short brown hair, brown eyes and was slim and tall. Her clothes were ragged, but she wore some loose trousers and a top.

At this moment Nilsa approached Aerilyn, cautiously as ever, not coming too close.

'Morning, so I have been allowed to take you to the food store to get food supplies' Nilsa huffed.

'Why me? Take someone else' Aerilyn groaned and carried on eating her food.

As much as she wanted something to do she didn't want to spend her day with the people who kept them enslaved here.

'I thought you would appreciate some fresh air' Nilsa quizzed, regarding her a spoilt brat almost because anyone else would jump at the opportunity.

"It's wasted on her, she's pathetic" Ren came over and butted in.

Aerilyn just rolled her eyes.

"Don't roll your eyes at me, human" he gritted his teeth

'I would be happy to..' Evelyn started but Nilsa cut her off by stick her hand in the air, whilst still looking at Aerilyn.

'My orders are for you only, noone else can go' Aerilyn ruffled her eyebrows together, trying to make sense of this information. It was no good asking because she wasn't going to tell her. But she asked anyway.

Ren huffed at this.

'Orders from who?' Aerilyn queried.

'Never mind any of that, come on and Ren, back off" Nilsa gestured staring him down, her eyes turned red for a moment and he seemed to simmer down, but barged passed Aerilyn knocking her shoulder.

Nilsa eyes returned to their normal colour, she turned around and went back to the door, she grabbed a coat from a guard and walked back towards the human girl.

'Here put this on' she handed Aerilyn the black jacket which looked nicer than any of the clothing she had in the past however many years.

Aerilyn put her arms through, wrapping herself in it before putting some sunglasses on knowing the light was going to shock her eyes.

As they made their way out the door and out of ear shot of everyone, Aerilyn turned to Nilsa who was looking straight ahead.

'Can you send a message to Solenne, I want to speak to her'. The brown haired girl paused, stopping in her tracks, she looked at Aerilyn in what she could only understand as shock.

'I'm not sure you are in a position for such a request, you are merely a prisoner or slave here now' she retorted. Aerilyn knew she wasn't in the position to ask but at least tried.

Aerilyn shrugged her shoulders and sighed, she wasn't going to fight her on it, she would either get her to talk to her or she wouldn't. She wasn't quite sure what compelled her to even say it.

As they made their way outside, the cold air hit her face, they had been travelling north when they stopped here. It was autumn and she really did need this coat.

They were surrounded by a few guards to escort them to the food store, Aerilyn wasn't sure what use they had for it, unless it was for slaves. They definitely couldn't eat it as far as she was aware.

There was a convoy of cars to take them, Aerilyn got in the back with Nilsa, there were two guards in the front. That's when she spotted Ren getting in another car. Just what she needed.

They drove for about ten minutes before pulling up, Aerilyn looked out of the window during the journey, wishing she could be running along the countryside.

They got to the food store, which surprisingly looked in good condition. She was escorted in by the guards who were close enough to make sure she couldn't escape. Luckily Ren kept away from her. Once inside it looked like a regular supermarket until you noticed there were no customers or in fact anybody alive with a beating heart.

Aerilyn started straight away, walking around picking some bits up, Nilsa stayed close and had a guard carry a basket.

Aerilyn picked up a lot of tinned food, it seemed they were still making food, so she grabbed bread, rice and potatoes, there seemed to be the most basic foods.

She made her way to the back of the store, looking for something nice to eat, there were some foods here that Aerilyn hadn't seen in years, she was in awe.

Aerilyn stood looking in the corner at the desserts and was too busy to notice her name being called. It was called twice very softly but she was too focused on what she was doing.

A few moments later Aerilyn turned around to be met by Solenne. She was inquisitively looking at her, this was the second time she had seen her and this time she was standing up facing her, almost her equal...almost.

She was much closer than before but she looked irked and was wondering what she was doing here. She waited impatiently. Aerilyn was taken back by her sudden appearance here and how they managed to get the message to her that quickly.

'You want me to take you to my leader' she spoke. Aerilyn looked at her confused, she hadn't mentioned anything about her leader, she knew they had a Queen but hadn't thought about that at the time because she had no idea who she was.

Aerilyn just knew Solenne seemed more powerful than the guards.

'No, I asked to see you" Aerilyn spoke, her head tilted to the side. Solenne had a lot of security with her, Aerilyn could tell that much as she scanned behind her. Her face didn't seem to betray any emotion, she seemed very cold.

'But I didn't expect to see you here' Aerilyn felt self conscious as she hadn't taken her eyes off of her, not once.

'Ah yes, word travels fast here' she stood with a twitch of amusement on her lips. Her wisdom graced her and the way she spoke made Aerilyn think she was not as young as she looked. There was more to her than meets the eye.

'So what am I here for?' She was curious.

She was dressed in her warrior outfit, holding a helmet on her hip and black from head to tie embroidered with gold here and there. Definitely important.

"I just want to know what's going on here". Aerilyn asked knowing she probably wouldn't answer.

She sighed.

'And you couldn't ask someone else' she raised her eye brow in annoyance.

'No one would tell me' she replied.
