Luke's p.o.v

I wake up at noon, the sun shining through the blinds slightly lighting up the room. My head is still a little woozy from the night before.

Summer is nuzzled up against me. She looks so peaceful. Her mouth partly open and her face in a partial frown. Her hair all over the place.

I run my fingers through her beautiful brown and blond hair. I love her hair, it's like a blanket of protection around this little girl.

I pull my hand back and admire her some more. I kiss her head before I grab my phone from the nightstand. The brightness from my phone sending a shock of pain from my eyes to the back of my head. I squint my eyes as I turn down the brightness.

I look through my notifications. My eyes land on Erika's name.

*How are you feeling?* - Erika

*I'm alright.* - Me.

*mmm, I know something that can make you feel better.😉* - Erika.

I leave her on read. My head feels so weird. I put my hands up to my face trying to relieve the weird feeling.

Summer got me medicine but I'm afraid I'm going to throw up. So I'm just going to wait till after.

*C'mon. I'm not that bad* - Erika

*sorry. I have my eyes on someone right now...* - Luke

*Summer? You're kidding!* - Erika

*wdym?* - Luke

*You can do waaaaaayyyyy better.* - Erika

*No, I really can't* - Luke

*you're kidding. She doesn't even like you back.* - Erika

*And I'm going to change that. Goodbye now!* - Luke

I shut my phone off. My head pounding even more from the previous text conversation I just had.

Is this girl on something? I look over to my right at my favorite girl. Still in the same position.

The more I sit around the more sick I start to feel. I keep drinking water first to try to help. I'll turn to the Gatorade later.

I turn on the tv and watch Breaking Bad. The tv cut to commercial and there is food everywhere. I start to feel even more sick as my saliva keeps filling my mouth.

I start drinking the Gatorade. That didn't seem to help because I am now running for the bathroom.

I reach the toilet and let all the alcohol out of my body. While I'm in the process of catching my breath I feel a small hand on my back.

I look up to see my favorite girl. She's holding a box of tissues, water, and medicine. She sits down next to me and rubs my back soothingly.

"Are you done?" She asks.

"I think so." I breath. I lean on the wall behind me as Summer flushes the toilet.

She hands me the box of tissues to wipe my mouth. She then runs her fingers through my hair, lightly massaging my head at the same time.

"I thought you didn't drink that much." She looks st me with her head tilted towards the side.

"I drank enough to be tipsy but not enough to not remember anything."

"So like, a lot but not too much."

"I guess so."

"You should brush your teeth." She scrunched up her face. I smile at her.

"You want a kiss?" I lean towards her making kissy noises as she puts her hand against my chest pushing me back.

"No, I'm good." She leans away from me. In the middle of trying to gross Summer out I immediately lean over the toilet bowl again. Her small hand rubbing my back as I heave more alcohol out. "Yeah, it's a good thing I didn't go for a hug either."

I laugh at her when I'm done.

"This sucks." I groan.

"That my friend, is why I stay away."

"Miss goody-two-shoes."

"That's me!" She smiles proudly.

She hands me more tissues as she flushed the toilet.

"You should take a shower too." She looks me head to toe.

"Will you join me?" I smirk.

"Haha, no." Her face goes blank.

"Then I won't take one!" I tease.

"Luke! If you don't take a shower I will literally stay two feet away from you!"

"I was just kidding! I'll take one."

She smiles and stands up. She pulls me up from the floor. I smirk at our close distance as she just blank stares me.

She turns around and goes into her small closet filled with towels, period stuff, shampoo, conditioner, soap, all the things you need in a bathroom. She throws me a towel then leaves the bathroom.

I take off my shirt being careful not to hit my throat too hard. I then strip off the rest of my clothes.

I get in the shower and immediately turn on the water. I tense up when the freezing cold water engulfs me. Then relax when the water starts to get warmer.

I love but hate showering. I love that It relieves all my stress from anything, but I hate that I think about everything on my mind.

I think about my favorite girls beautiful hazel brown eyes, and her brown ombré hair. Her soft lips and her vanilla scent.

I need to stop, I can't do this thing called "love". That's not who I am. But I can change...but it's how I cope.

I rub my face roughly, I want these thoughts out! They lead up to who I don't want to think about.

What if Summer can help me?

But I'm not ready to open up.

I can't keep sleeping around, I'll end up being like him.

But it's the only way I know that will help me.

"Damn it!" I slam my fist onto the shower wall as the corner of the tiles slice my knuckles. "Shit!" The small cuts start dripping blood.

"Luke! Are you okay?" I hear Summer's faint voice through the door.

"Yeah! I just um..." I think hard for an excuse. "I just almost slipped!"

"Oh, okay." I can hear the slight panic in her voice.

All these thoughts in my mind that are whirling make me feel sick. Not sick to the point where I'm going to throw up.

I finish up in the shower and step out. My whole body shaking from the cold air in the bathroom.

I dry off then wrap a towel around my waist. I pick up my clothes and walk out of the bathroom. Summer was sitting on her bed looking at me with curious eyes.

"Why does your towel have blood on it?" She asks as she studies my towel resting on my hips.

"Ummm, why are you looking down there?" I smirk when she starts to blush.

"Uh...don't change the subject!" She points her finger at me. "Go put some clothes on!" She waves me off.

"You and I both know you'd love it if I kept my shirt off." I wink at her before walking into her closet.

"Shut up!" She shouts throwing a pillow at me but I shut the door before it could hit me.

I slip on some underwear and grey sweatpants. And as promised I kept my shirt off. I throw my other stuff in the corner.

I walk out to my favorite girl. She sitting in the same exact spot in the same exact position playing on her phone. Her top half leaning on the headboard and her bottom half on the bed with outstretched legs.

"Summerrrrr." I whine.

"What!"

"I feel sick!" I lay on top of her legs. Placing my head on her belly.

"Maybe you drank more than you thought." She says running her fingers through my hair.

"I was thinking too much." I sigh. I place my hands next to her butt. "And that made me feel dizzy." She picks my head up in her hands.

"You do look pale." She studies my face, rubbing my cheek with her thumb.

I close my eyes as she soothes me with her soft and gentle touch. She places my head back down and continues to play with my hair.

I listen to her breath as I drift off. Exhausted for some odd reason.

____

I wake up in a different position. I'm on my back sleeping over the covers. Not a trace of Summer anywhere but I can hear her talking to her mom downstairs.

I always found it weird how all sources of noise from the outside is muted when she shuts her door but when you open it a crack you can hear everything.

I feel myself relax at the sound of Summer's voice. I didn't know I was tensing up.

"What did you guys do last night?" I hear her mom say.

"Nothing..." Summer says.

I get up out of the bed and go into the bathroom to brush my teeth. I feel way better and a little refreshed after that nap.

Once I'm done brushing my teeth I splash my face with cold water. I feel weird. I feel nice and refreshed after that nap yet I feel exhausted at the same time.

Maybe I'm just having withdrawals. I haven't slept with anyone in a while. I can't do that to Summer.

I shake the thoughts out of my head then walk downstairs. I find Summer leaning against the counter eating popcorn while playing on her phone.

I can see her mom and duke outside through the sliding glass door.

"Good afternoon." I say as I walk towards Summer.

"How was your nap?" She smiles.

"It was great. Best nap I've ever had. It would've been better if you cuddled with me though." I pout.

"You look terrible." She laughs.

"Wow, thanks." I grab a handful of popcorn and shove it in my mouth.

"Well good morning Luke!" Jill says as she drags Duke back inside. "What did you two do last night?" She gets right to the questions.

"Uh, sleep?" I answer truthfully.

"So no making out?"

"Mom! No!" Summer says embarrassed.

"Are you sure?" Jill pushes.

"Okay, we kissed goodnight. That's it!" Summer says.

"I'll take it!" Jill says before walking into her office with Duke following.

"Summer, do you want to go play in the snow?"

"No."

"Did I hear a yes?" I start to walk towards her.

"No!" I wrap my arms around her shoulders and push her towards the door. "Luke stop!" She screams.

She uses her feet to try to push my towards the kitchen as her arms wrap around my waist. This has no affect on me since she has socks on and she's tiny compared to me.

"You're going in the snow!" I say as we get closer to the door.

"No! I don't want to!" She screams.

She turns around when I use one arm to open the door. She then proceeds to push me with her backside. Once I get the door open, I spin her around to throw her over my shoulder, I try to pay no attention to the fact that my hand just grazed her butt.

"What do I have to do to stay out of the snow?" She says as I throw her over my shoulder.

"You have to cuddle with me to a movie of my choice." I say.

"Deal!" She yells when I step out of the door.

I set her down on the porch. Her hazel eyes playfully glaring at me. She then smirks at me and runs past me inside.

"Hey!" I yell running after her.

I'm hot on her heels so I reach my arms out and wrap my arms around her waist. I pull her towards me and pick her up.

"You got me." She says.

"What are we going to watch?" I ask.

"Um, Mean Girls."

"No." I set her down on the couch.

"Um, Bring It on!" She jumps up excited.

"No."

"I don't know!"

"Well we both have to agree to it."

"Baywatch!"

"I can deal with that." I say grabbing the remote.

I get onto amazon prim while Summer grabs a blanket and gets comfortable.

I get Baywatch started and Summer is on the opposite end of the couch, not in my arms.

"Summer..." I get her attention. She turns to look at me. I open up my arms. "Cuddle." I smile.

Summer groans as she makes her way over to my side of the couch. She sits on my lap and I wrap my arms around her body and rest my chin on her shoulder.

She won't be taking her eyes off the screen when Zac Efron comes on.

_____

We're towards the end of the movie and we are both laying down. Summer resting her head on my chest with her arm over my torso.

"Zac Efron is so hot." Summer says for the hundredth time. "I just wish he wasn't so old, I can marry him. I want a guy that looks like Zac."

My body sag's when she says that. I have brown hair Zac has dirty blonde hair, I have brown eyes Zac has blue eyes. I'm the complete opposite of what she's looking for.

"You'll find someone." I tell her. She looks up at me.

"Who do you plan on talking to after this bet?"

"Probably just going back to my old ways."

"Ew." Her face wrinkles up in disgust as her curious eyes turn into judgmental ones.

"Am I going to loose you when I go back to my old ways?" I ask her as we both sit up. My back resting on the couch arm while she's resting on the back of the couch, her legs placed on top of mine as her feet hang off the end of the couch's

"We obviously won't be as close. We would probably go back to how we were before this."

"Guess we still don't know what to call this." I tug at my hair a little frustrated.

"What happens when neither of us fall in love by the end of the season?" She asks after a long pause.

"We continue till one of us confess. It takes time to fall in love, it takes one look to fall in lust."

"So this..." she motions between us, "is lust." I can see the lightbulb go off in her head. "There's no doubt we're attracted to each other, I do admit you're hot. But we're obviously not in love."

"You're right!" I clap my hands together like a little boy.

"You're so cute." She smiles at me.

"Does that mean I get a kiss?"

"Nope, now shush Zac Efron is about to punch someone." She says crossing her arms.
