"That's right! That's the legendary Fox Sin Of Greed, Ban, of the Se- I mean, Eight Deadly Sins!" Cennette exclaimed, pointing at Ban.

"How'd you guess?" I asked sarcastically, still focusing my attention on the two men in front of me, who were both staring intensely at each other.

"What's with the atmosphere between these two...?" Hawk muttered, looking fearfully at the two of them. I smirked slightly. "I've got a bad feeling about this..."

"Yeah..." Said Diane, staring at the two boys as she sat down. She was leaning back on her hands while her legs rested in two large arches. She looked over at Cennette and Hawk. "You two probably want to get behind me."

I jumped up, landing on Diane's knees. I crossed my legs, resting my elbow on my knee with my chin on my palm. I glanced over at Hawk and Cennette, who had not moved an inch. Oh well- it's their decision.

"BAN~!"

"CAPTAIN~!"

The two yelled one after the other, closing the gap between themselves in a double-high-five. The did this repeatedly, shouting 'Ho!' everytime their hands made contact and moving at a speed that made their every movement a blur.

"Those two sure get along well," Hawk commented, his voice still suspicious.

"Yup," Diane and I said at the exact same time, watching the two do their 'handshake' that they did everytime they saw each other after being apart for some time. It never got old.

Ban then punched Meli as hard as he could, sending him flying through several walls. My eyes followed the blonde's body, seeing him shift in the rubble he was laying in. Both Hawk and Cennette squealed, backing up slightly.

"C'mon Captain!" Ban shouted excitedly, waving both his hands at the aforementioned man. "My turn~!"

Meli flew forward, punching Ban back. The immortal flew into the the wall he was in front of, slamming through several layers of cement, just as the captain did. Both of them began laughing quietly to themselves, most likely having the time of their lives.

"What the hell?!?'" Hawk shouted, turning towards me and Diane.

"Just leave them be," Diane said, watching Ban, just as I was.

"They do this everytime- it's routine," I added, seeing the tall man begin to rise from his laying position, still chuckling.

"What the hell? I thought you'd be sluggish by now!" Ban shouted, shooting himself forward, toward the captain. The wall he pushed himsef off of crumbled from the sudden pressure, causing the building to shake slightly.

"You're pretty energetic yourself!" Meli chuckled, holding his shoulder as he turned his arm in circles to loosen his muscles.

The two grasped one of the other's hands in their own, staring at each other with the stupid grins they always had on their faces. Simultaneously, they asked the other if they were ready, then slammed themselves on the ground, their arms locked together in an arm-wrestle position. I rolled my eyes, smiling a small smile. These two are too much trouble...

"GO!"

The entire ground cracked into webs beneath us, getting increasingly weaker under our weight. Hawk and Cennette shrieked, uselessly backing away from the cracks, which had already spread to the corners of the room.

Several of the lamps on the walls crashed against the floor, the sound of glass breaking and cement crumbling filling our ears. The floor began to give out, and Hawk shouted something I couldn't quite understand.

"Those two have always been like this," Diane sighed, smiling as she watched the two arm wrestle.

"Like what?!" Hawk shrieked back, loosing his footing and beginning to free-fall with me and Diane. I was falling just above her knees, where I had been previously sitting. Her weight caused her to fall faster than I did- Giants were also strangely aerodynamic. It was weird.

"Childish," We said in unison, and I grinned, adding afterward; "But it's more fun this way."

"Our record was 351 out of 700, my favor, right?" Ban yelled over the crashing of the surrounding room.

"You sleeptalking?" Meli retorted, grinning. "I'm the one with 351 wins!"

"I'm pretty sure that was me~" Ban replied, his voice sing-songy.

"The captain's serious face is so cute!" Diane squealed.

Hawk shouted, "I don't want to be flattened pork! Someone help meeee!"

"They're such idiots," I smiled, watching the two as fond memories of their other arm wrestling matches ran through my mind. How did I get put into a team with such weirdos?

Ironic, coming from me.

The whole building was coming crashing down, and I could already hear the structures that were below us coming into contact with the ground. It took only a few more moments for us to reach it as well, surrounded by dust and the crumpled cement that used to be Baste Dungeon, home of the Weird Fangs.

I looked up at the sky. "Huh, it's dusk already? That took way longer than I thought."

"No wonder I was starting to get hungry!" Diane replied, smiling.

"You're always hungry," I laughed, causing her to huff in embarrassment, moving one of her pigtails in front of her mouth.

"How did I survive that?!" Hawk yelled before turning to Meli and Ban. "You two are ridiculous! You could've killed me!"

"Anywaaaayy," Ban said, ignoring Hawk entirely as he stood at his full height and turned toward the captain. "I'm happy to see you again captain~" he then turned toward me and Daine, "and you guys too, I guess."

I stuck my tongue out, blowing a raspberry at him in response, while Diane shouted "You're mean!" We all laughed as Hawk helped Cennette up. She had been rather surprised by the sudden destruction of the building, so she was a little stunned. She had gotten a few cuts and bruises, although, like Elizabeth, it was nothing too serious.

Diane stood up, wiping off all of the dust that had collected across her body. I did the same, jumping down off the pile of rubble and stretching a little bit. Everyone eventually followed after me and we began to head back toward town, where the villagers had gathered. They were at the very edge of the village, gawking at the sight of Baste being destroyed. Several people were yelling out their thoughts, trying to get some answers, no doubt.

"The entire thing?!"

"I can't beleive it!"

"How did this happen!"

"Was it the Sins?"

"Or maybe the giant we saw earlier, who was with (y/n)!"

"Wait, look! Some people are coming!"

Cennette has run ahead of us, with the other villagers who had been freed from imprisonment. She was the first one the townsfolk noticed. Several people yelled out her name, happy to see her again after her kidnapping. Too bad I hadn't heard about it beforehand, I probably could've gotten her back sooner.... They then noticed all of the people who were being kept prisoner running out, as they had gone ahead of us as well. I don't remember seeing any of them escape.... Eh, it's probably because they went out a different way or something.

The others sins and I gathered together once we reached an area in town where all of us could fit (*cough cough* where Diane could fit *cough cough*). There were several whispers from the townsfolk about us, asking about our identities and our purpose for being here. However, we were focused on a more important issue.

Diane had pulled off her bag and put it down so all of us could check on Elizabeth. She didn't look too hot, but she was more worried about all of us than herself. She was pretty selfless for someone who grew up in the royal family.

She was looking around at the lot of us, resting her eyes on each of us individually. "Are you okay..? Lord Meliodas and Lord Ban... Miss Cennette.... and Hawk got hurt too..."

Hawk let out a serious of indistinguishable mumbles, which were probably meant to be words. Meli smiled, leaning over to Elizabeth so that he was next to her.

"He says, 'Before you worry about others, you should worry about yourself'," Meli smiled, translating the pig's slurs and mumbles. I highly doubted what he said was accurate, but it was what I wanted to say to her, so I kept my mouth shut. "Ban and Cennette came with us too; they're okay."

"And Miss Cennette..." Elizabeth said weakly, "Does she know about.... about Dr. Dana... and what happened....?"

"Yeah," was all he said.

"Please, Lord Meliodas...." she mumbled, "I'll be fine. Go with Cennette.... she will need all the support... she can get...."

"I'll watch Elizabeth, you three go ahead!" Diane said to me, Hawk, and Meli. I shrugged, entirely indifferent in the situation. Ban had wandered off somewhere, probably to go use the bathroom or something.

"Okaaaayyyy!" Meli replied, waving at the two girls before ushering Hawk and I to accompany him to Dr. Dana's office. I trailed behind, following him and Hawk. There was a moment of silence before I spoke.

"Hey, are you okay?" I asked, trying to sound as not-worried as possible. It had been bugging me since I first saw him...

"Whadoya mean?"

"I'm not really sure what happened, but it sounded like you got pretty injured before I showed up," I explained, rubbing the back of my neck. "So, are you okay?"

"I'm fine," Meli said cheerily, pulling down the side of his shirt to reveal his shoulder. A scar, very similar to Ban's, had revealed itself across the entirety of his shoulder, and a little bit into his back and chest. I furrowed my brows.

"That looks like it was a deep wound... how did it heal so fast?"

"I dunno," he shrugged, turning towards the door of Dr. Dana's workplace. I was about to say something, but was interupted by a loud yell.

"Father!"

Meli, Hawk, and I ran up the stairs, finding Cennette hugging her father. She was crying hysterically, as was he. "Cennette! Oh, I'm so happy you're safe!"

"Didn't you say he died?" I mumbled to the captain, who shrugged. Hawk, however, demanded an explanation.

"How are you still alive?!?!" He demanded, staring at the doctor in disbelief. "Were you resurrected?! What is this wizardry?!"

"It's embarassing," the Doctor chuckled, "that even I, a doctor, don't know what happened. It's extraordinary."

"He was definitely stabbed through the chest," Said a woman, who I presume to be his wife. She looked like Cennette. "The other townspeople found him unconscious and brought him here."

"It's amazing! Look at this," He guestured to his chest, where a gaping scar had appeared. It was extremely similar to Meli's. "It's as though the wound closed on its own- and it's the exact same thing that happened to you, Meliodas! Don't you see what this means? The sword wound, the poison... none of them had any effect one you! That me-"

"Enough about that!" Interjected Cennette, causing her father to stop and turn towards her. "I want to know why I was taken to Baste and why my father was stabbed in the chest!"

Her father sighed, looking down into his lap, ashamed. "The Holy Knights threatened me.... They took you as hostage, and forced me to help them kill the Eight Deadly Sins- or at least try to. I was using saving you as an excuse, but I still attempted to kill this young man..."

"No! Father, it's not your fault!" Cennette cried, pointing at me and Meli. "The Se- I mean, Eight Deadly Sins are the most dangerous criminals in all of the kingdom! It's their fault, isn't it? For being traitors?"

"No, listen to me!" Her father interjected, "These people- this young man- didn't blame me. He even rescued you when I wasn't able to do so! How many people in the kingdom would stand against the Holy Knights without hesitation? Do you know of any besides these 'criminals' that we have become acquainted with?"

"Father..."

"I refuse to believe that they are bad people, therefore..." he turned toward us, "When are you leaving town?"

I looked at Meli, who immediately spoke up. "Tommorrow, or the day after tommorrow, at the latest. I doubt the kingdom will stay quiet after Baste got leveled."

"Very well then," he said conclusively, "Let us thank you for saving my- and my daughter's- lives with a meal, at the very least."

"Sure," Meli said happily.

"No poison this time, though," Hawk said from between Meli and I. Both of us knocked him upside the head, to which he huffed and muttered quiet protests.

"Thank you, Sir," I replied, curtsying slightly.

"It's no problem, (y/n)," he smiled. I grinned back.

It had been couple of hours, and we were now well into the night. Stars littered the sky and the moon was full, showing off its beauty to the entire, sleeping world. We were out on the roof of the Dr. Dana's house, on a comfortably sized porch-like area. Diane was leaning against the wall, I was sitting on the edge of the roof, Elizabeth was laying in a bed so that her body could heal easier, Meli and Ban were next to her, and Lord Hawk was walking around, watching Meli carefully.

We were waiting for Dr. Dana and Cennette to finish the meal that they had promised us. I was rather glad to be eating some proper food. While I could cook decently, I hadn't had a good meal in a long time- around fifteen years, I think. Mostly alcohol and bar food- nothing too healthy or delicious. Under the influence of alcohol, the food was a little more tolerable, but not by much.

"So, I guess I should introduce you formally," said Meli, guesturing toward Ban in front of Elizabeth. "Elizabeth, this is Ban, the Eight Deadly Sins' Fox Sin Of Greed."

"'Eellooooo~ Nice to meet'cha, princess," Ban purred, smiling from atop the ale barrel he was sitting on.

"Where'd you get those clothes, Ban?" I asked from the roof where I was sitting. He shrugged.

"I couldn't be naked when introducing myself to a princess, now could I?" He asked, and I nodded, laying back down atop the roof. He dodged the question.

"Fair point," I agreed, "But how'd you find clothes like those? I don't presume you had any money to buy them with?"

"I just found 'em lying around," he answered dismissively, waving his hand as though he was shooing me.

"Ah," I laughed, "so you stole them."

"Maybe," he replied with a chuckle, then turned toward Diane. I was rather close to her, so he was facing the both of us. "Come to think of it, it's been a while since I've seen either of you, hasn't it?"

"And I would've been fine not seeing you for another hundred years!" Diane huffed, crossing her arms and turning away from him, causing me to laugh once more. I closed my eyes, letting the cool, nightly breeze drift over me.

"It's always interesting when you're around, Ban. I'll give you that," I replied, smiling as I sniffed, smelling the delicious scent of the food the Dana's were making.

Elizabeth giggled, before allowing herself to be introduced. "I'm Elizabeth. I apologize for not being able to greet you properly."

"Nah, don't sweat it princess," Ban replied nonchalantly, looking over at the girl. "We Sins don't really care for introductions or politeness. So let's just get along, the five of us."

"There are six," huffed Hawk.

Ban looked up, slightly confused, before laughing. "Don't be silly captain, there aren't six of us."

"You are one freaky bastard, I'll tell ya that," Hawk said, prodding over to Ban. "You let yourself get caught and thrown into a dungeon just cause you're bored, leaving your allies. Then, once you hear your allies are regrouping again, you level the whole dungeon! You missing a couple screws up there?"

"Who the hell are you?" Ban growled, staring down at Hawk.

"It's me!" Hawk said proudly, snorting lightly. It took a moment for Ban to react.

"THAT PIG CAN TALK?!?!" He shouted, pointing down at Hawk with wide eyes and a slack jaw.

"What's your deal? Why're you freaking out?" Hawk asked, sounding slightly uncomfortable and confused.

"THERES NO WAY! WHATS THE POINT OF A PIG BEING ABLE TO TALK LIKE A PERSON?!?"

"I always thought it was to be Diane's food," I chimed it, sitting up and dangling my feet off the edge of the roof.

"Why are you guys always insisting on making me out to be a food pig?" Hawk asked angrily, causing everyone except Ban laugh; he was still in awe of the fact that Hawk could talk. Hawk cleared his throat, turning to Ban once more. "But, of course, I am not just any pig! I am Captain Hawk, Leader of the Knights in the Order of Scraps Disposal!"

"Wow... I've never heard of anything like that," Ban replied, his voice showing that he was either in awe or very confused. I'm going to guess it was a little bit of both.

"Now the pig is starting to believe his own delusions," Meli muttered, and I heard Elizabeth giggle lightly.

"Everyone!" Called Dr. Dana, causing all of our attention to turn to the door of his home that lead to the porch area we were on. "Dinner is served!"
