Arya's POV -

"Arya! You're okay!" James yells making me giggle as he rushes towards me, almost dropping the tray in the process.

He places it on the table before giving me a hug.

It must have been too long for Rome because he's soon shoving James away from me.

James only rolls his eyes and turns back to me. "How are you feeling?"

I've been asked that so many times.

"I'm doing okay." I smile, eyeing the food on the tray.

"Oh! Here you go, I didn't know what you liked so I got a bit of everything." James exclaimed, placing the tray on my lap once I was comfortable and under the covers again.

I stared at the food in shock, there was so much here.

But what caught my eye was the crepe on one of the plates.

James made me one.

I automatically wanted the crepe and reached for my knife and fork, only to be stopped by Rome.

"What?" I questioned, confused.

He raised a brow and took the knife and fork out of my hand.

I was about to protest, but he moved the tray closer to him and began to cut the crepe up for me.

I shrunk into my shoulders, a small blush coating my features.

Soon the tray was back in front of me, fork in my grasp, and I didn't waste anymore time in digging into the food.

There was a smirk on James' face, he probably knew I'd go for the crepe first.

I kept sneaking small glances at the man that hasn't spoken in the room. Elijah.

He was leaning against the doorway, a blank expression on his face as he looked at me.

I didn't know what he was thinking. I hope he didn't hate me for some reason...

Soon the crepe was gone, and I gratefully accepted the glass of water that Rome offered to me.

Taking a few small sips, I was already full and leaning back.

"I don't think so." Rome says making me look at him.

"Huh-"

"You need to eat more, that's not enough after you've been asleep for that long." He says making me glance back at the food.

"I'm really full I swear, I can't eat anymore."

All 3 pairs of eyes stare at me and I find myself getting embarrassed.

I want to disappear under these covers.

My main focus was on Rome as his eyes continue to observe me. He seemed to be thinking about something.

He glances down at the still full tray of food, "How about you just eat the yogurt also, and then you can be done?" He offers with a small tilt of his head.

Now how can I say no to the look he's giving me.

"Okay, I'll do that." I answer, grabbing the cup of vanilla yogurt and the spoon lying on the tray.

There was literally a buffet on this one tray.

As I take the yogurt and spoon into my hand, Rome takes the tray away, satisfaction shining through his eyes.

I liked that look.

I dip the spoon into the yogurt and bring it to my mouth.

As I take the first bite, I hum in approval.

For vanilla yogurt, it was really good.

I continue to eat as they wait for me to finish in silence.

It wasn't an awkward silence, it was a calm one. One that was soothing.

But what I still didn't understand was Elijah who was still stood at the doorway.

He hadn't said a single word since he's gotten here.

I swallow another spoonful of yogurt before looking at Rome.

He raises an eyebrow and I give him the 'come here' gesture.

He smirks lightly before leaning down so I can whisper in his ear, "Why's Elijah just standing there? He looks kind of angry." I mumble.

Rome pulls away, amusement dancing in his eyes, and he glances towards his friend.

"La mia ragazza qui dice che sembri arrabbiata." Rome says, still looking at him.

(My girl here says you look angry.)

It's no surprise that I have no idea what he said, but then Elijah's eyes move from Rome to me.

Rome told him what I said?!

My mouth opens to apologize, but Elijah speaks for the first time.

"I'm not angry. This is just how I normally look." He says with a cold voice that could send shivers down anyone's body.

"O-Oh..." I reply, covering my face with my hands.

When I look back up, I swear I saw the smallest smirk on Elijah's face before It's back to the same look as before.

After about 5 more minutes, I finish the yogurt and hand the items to Rome to place back on the tray.

Rome makes Elijah take the tray away, which he does with a glare on his face.

"So princess!" James says, rubbing his hands together like he's planning something.

"Sta zitta, deve prima prendere la sua medicina per il dolore." Rome says sternly making James look at him in disbelief.

(Shut up, she needs to take her pain medicine first.)

"Arya he just told me to shut up, scold him please!" He commands and I pout at Rome.

"Don't be mean to your friend!" I say making Rome grunt and grab the pill bottle from the table.

He pops it open and pours two tablets onto his hand, then the glass of water from earlier.

"Open." He commands making me comply.

He places the tablets on my tongue and then raises the glass to my lips.

I take a few gulps of the cold water before softly grabbing his wrist to make him stop.

He pulls the cup away and places it back on the table before giving my forehead a kiss.

"Well isn't this just something," James says making Rome sigh and me laugh.

"I've never seen him so soft, he's completely different with you." The blonde continues and I watch as Rome clenches his jaw but says nothing.

After about an hour of just catching up, James leaves by giving me another hug and promising he'll be back tomorrow.

It's now just Rome and I since Elijah never came back after taking the tray.

"You know what's funny?" I suddenly ask making Rome hum as he stares down at me from his chair.

"Your last name is Black! I didn't even know and now everything just clicks into place!"

"Kicks into place? What does that even mean?" He chuckles, holding onto my hand.

"Most of your room is black, your favorite color is black, and your last name is black which just tops it all off." I say with a small laugh, and he grins down at me then shakes his head.

"I guess you're right, I've never really thought about it." Rome shrugs.

My eyes begin to feel slightly droopy, "Rome, what time is it?"

He checks his phone, "Almost 10, are the pain meds kicking in?"

I nod and attempt to pull the covers up to my shoulders but I end up getting help from Rome.

"Are we in a hospital?" I ask the question that's been on my mind ever since I woke up.

He shakes his head, "Nope, you're actually in my house, we have our own infirmary."

My jaw drops, "That's so cool, you've got your open personal hospital. Does Wyatt work only for you?"

"Yes, he's the personal doctor. He doesn't live here like Elijah, James, and I do though. He has a house nearby and only comes here for work.

I hum in understanding and grip onto Rome's hand tighter, wanting to keep his touch close to me forever.

"Tomorrow's Monday" I mumble, closing my eyes.

"It is." Rome says.

"I have school..."

"Well you're definitely not going."

I groan, "What am I going to tell Izzy? Speaking of, where's my phone?" I ask with my lids still closed.

"Just say you were sick or something. As for your phone, I'll get you a new one since It's cracked."

"But-" I say but then shut my mouth.

There's no point in even trying to argue knowing It'll be pointless with the stubborn man.

I hear shuffling and my eyes snap open as Rome gets up. I painfully watch as he walks to the door.

But he only surprises me by turning off the light, leaving the room in darkness besides the small glow of one of the lights in the corner that remained on.

He comes back to me and sits back in his chair, gripping onto my hand again.

I smile at him and he leans in, giving my nose a peck which makes it scrunch up.

He chuckles softly and kisses it again before leaning back and watching me.

"Go to sleep, baby."

Shutting my eyes once again, I let myself slowly fall asleep, the pain meds kicking in 10 times more now.

Rome's hand traces over my knuckles, lulling me to a deep slumber.

But before I can, I speak the last question that's been haunting my mind.

"Rome?" I question making him sigh quietly.

"I thought I told you to sleep, yes?"

"I just have...have another question."

"What is it, hm?"

"What am I going to do?"

"Do about what?"

I pause before responding.

"What am I going to do about my parents?"

He doesn't answer, and if he did I didn't hear it because as soon as I ask the question I've fallen asleep less than 10 seconds after.
