Arya's POV -

My eyes peeled open slightly, only to close less than a second later due to a bright light.

My ears were ringing. What was going on?

I groaned and tried to move my body, but it felt so numb.

I felt like I was in some sort of dream. Why couldn't I move a muscle?

As my senses began to slowly come back to me, I could hear an odd noise.

There was a beep, then a small pause, followed by another beep.

My head shook slowly back and forth, my eyes desperately trying to open.

I heard the beeping machine start to slightly increase, but then the sound of a door opening.

There was a small amount of chatter before it went silent again.

"Arya? Can you hear me?"

A voice I didn't recognize spoke to me.

"Arya?" They continued and I groaned again.

"Call Capo."

(Boss.)

Darkness dragged me back to sleep once again.

The next time I felt myself wakening, I had a bit more energy.

My eyes were able to open easier, and I glanced weakly around the room.

That dang beeping sound was still going which made me automatically look towards it.

There was a weird computer thingy standing up near me with some lines and multiple numbers on it.

I had no idea what that meant.

But what caught my attention was the wire attached to it.

My pupils followed the direction of where it lead to, and I saw an IV stuck in my arm. My eyes widened slightly.

Before I could go and yank it out of my arm, the door opened.

In walked a man with a doctor's coat on, clipboard in hand.

His eyes were a light gray, and when he looked my way he did a double take.

"Arya, you're awake. My name is Wyatt and I treated your wounds from when you were asleep. How are you feeling?"

"I-" My mouth opened to say 'I'm fine', but was I really?

"I'm okay...I think." I responded, my throat slightly croaky. He walked over to the machine and checked it before slowly taking the IV out.

"That's good, I'm just going to call Mr. Black in here since he had notified me to let him know once you've awaken."

Mr. Black?

Who the heck was that?

The doctor must have noticed my confusion, "Rome."

Rome?

Rome was here?

Wait, where even was here?

Where am I?

"I can see a million thoughts forming in your head, and we'll gladly answer them. Let me just get him, okay?"

I couldn't form any words so I simply nodded. When Wyatt left it was then that I began to feel pain on my stomach and back.

I winced slightly and pulled off the covers from the hospital bed I was in.

However I was surprised to see that I was in a big t-shirt. Lifting it slightly to show my stomach, my eyes almost fell out of my head at the huge gauze wrapped around my stomach.

It was slightly red.

I was bleeding.

I felt my throat constrict, the urge to scream was nearly there but the door opened for the 3rd time so far.

My eyes stung at the image of the presence before me.

He immediately rushed to me, green eyes burning with worry as he crushed me to his chest, arms wrapping around me tightly.

It sent pain throughout my top half, but I was so focused on hugging him back and crying silently into Rome's chest to notice.

"Shh," He cooed, running his fingers through my hair as I shook.

He sat on the bed and pulled me onto his lap, my legs automatically wrapped around his waist.

All the memories started flooding back like a tsunami, and It only made me cry more.

"It's okay baby, I'm here." Rome said softly into my ear before pressing a kiss to my temple.

I'm not sure how long I sat there and cried over what happened.

Mama literally threw me into a table.

A glass table.

Papa...he got home as soon as it happened.

There was so much screaming.

Yelling.

So much pain.

It hurts.

"R-Rome," I cried out, clutching his black shirt in my hand.

"I'm here darling, I'm here." He said quietly, holding me tighter and trying to take away the slight tremble in my body.

Tears continued to pour down my cheeks and I sniffled loudly, trying to snuggle closer to him.

My head began to pound for who knows how many times now.

"Non lascerò mai più la tua parte." I heard as I started to become unconscious for the third time now.

(I'm never leaving your side again.)

My grip on Rome's shirt became lighter as he began to stroke my back.

I felt myself being laid down back on the bed, my head hitting the pillow softly.

I immediately went to protest, I didn't want Rome to leave.

"I'm not going anywhere sweetheart, I'll be right here when you wake up."

His fingers slowly interlaced with mine, and he brought them to his lips, kissing my knuckles fondly.

A small smile made Its way to my face as I fell back asleep, knowing I was safe and under the protection of Rome.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next time I woke up had to be hours later, because it was a lot darker in the room.

Looking towards the window confirmed my thoughts, the sun had set and it was turning night.

I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, and then glanced at Rome who had followed his promise.

His eyes were closed as he sat in a chair next to the bed, his head was tilted back slightly with his arms crossed.

Even when sleeping he looked so intimidating.

Weakly reaching out, I lightly tapped on his shoulder to try and wake him without freaking him out in the process.

I didn't feel like getting hit again.

Too late for jokes, Arya.

He stirred slightly before his pretty eyes opened and he looked towards me.

A gorgeous small smile made its way onto his face as he grabbed my hand in his.

"How are you feeling? You've been asleep for a while now."

"So have you by the looks of it." I giggled making him glare at me playfully.

"I wasn't really sleeping, just resting my eyes." He replied and I smiled.

His eyes turned a bit darker, "Seriously though darling, how are you feeling? Any pain? I need to get Wyatt anyways to check over your injuries."

My hands shook slightly at the mention of my wounds, and I know he felt it by the way his thumb ran over my knuckles, trying to soothe my shaking.

"I-It only hurts a little right now. My stomach and back." I murmured and he nodded.

He stood up to his full height and quickly leaned down to peck my forehead.

I was really starting to love the affection from him.

Love...

"Let me go get Wyatt, and then I'll have James get you something to eat. He's been freaking out ever since you woke up the first time."

James...I had missed him.

"Okay, that sounds good." I reply quietly and his hand runs through my hair once more before he turns away and heads for the door.

I sighed and leaned back in my pillow as he closed the door behind him.

Nervously glancing around the room, it only takes about 2 minutes before Rome's returning with Wyatt behind him.

"Hello Arya. Feeling better?" Wyatt asks and I shrug, "A little, but I still feel some pain."

"That's normal." He says with a nod, "After James finds something for you to eat, I'll give you some pain meds to help."

"Thank you," I say, watching Rome as he sits back down beside me and gives me a reassuring smile.

"Do you mind if I check the bandages?" Wyatt asks and I nod shyly, getting into a lying down position.

Rome's hands reach for my shirt, his eyes flitting up to mine to get silent permission.

With a small nod, he's lifting the shirt up to right below my bra line.

More blood then before was showing through it, and I swallowed before deciding I didn't want to look anymore.

My head plops down onto the pillow, and my heart swells at the affection Rome gives me when he brushes my hair back from my face.

There's silence in the room as Wyatt carefully works on the bandages, taking them off and getting new ones.

It only takes a few minutes for me to be wrapped back up, and Rome lowers my shirt back down.

"Luckily there aren't too many cuts or anything critical, you'll just need to keep them wrapped for another day or two before you don't need them anymore." Wyatt says and I reply with a weak 'okay.'

I watch as Wyatt writes something down on his clipboard before meeting my eyes once again,

"Since It's getting late, after you eat and take those meds I want you to head straight back to bed, I'll check the wounds again in the morning."

I reply with another 'okay' and Wyatt hands Rome a bottle with what I'm guessing are the pain killers.

"She can have 2 every morning and night..." Wyatt begins to explain something about the pills to Rome but I'm hardly even listening.

Soon Wyatt is leaving with a small wave, and as he exits the room 2 new figures enter.

I feel a smile start to form on my face at the sight of James with a huge tray of food on top of it.

Oh lord, what did he bring?

But what startled me was the person that was next to him.

It was someone who I didn't expect to see at all.

Elijah.
