5:30 pm [or 17:30]. The sky has yet to turn dark, and the wind happily served to comfort everyone who was outside. At the back of NK high school, a couple consisting of a shota and a loli could be seen. After the boy had stood up straight, the girl pressed one hand on her waist, while the other hand held the modified pointer stick, furiously pointing at him with the rubber finger.

“Why didn`t you come to the backyard as required? I placed the letter in a way that would definitely be pulled out with your shoes!”

“Uhm… I thought it might be misplaced…”

The girl poked his waist.

“Ahaha… Please, I`m sorry!” Kyoya squirmed as the rubber hand touched his sensitive spot. “So… What do you want to see me for, Ueda-san?”

“In case you haven`t known already, I am an alien. From outer space, I reincarnated into a female human`s fetus in order to research the biological system of earth. And you can call me Eirin."

(This girl has some loose screws) He thought.

“Your fellow human has found out about my identity. I was hunted by one of (inaudible) `s incarnations when the (inaudible) celestial event occurred during the 24th of December. It showed my enemies my whereabouts, and they were able to send their underling after me. Since you both have broken my cover as a human, you, human named Sougo Kyoya, have the duty to protect me during my time on this planet, and also become the specimen for me to research!”

“Eh…? Why only me though?” Kyoya played along.

“Um… Anou… Well… Cookies! Ah no! It is because… Because you are… uhm unpopular, yes! Your inconspicuous presence will not attract any unwanted attention, thus my true identity will be safe!” Eirin widened her stance as a red blush appeared on her cheeks.

“Your hair dye has already attracted plenty attention you know? It`s too shiny. Moreover your contact lens make your pupil unusual, in turn making you stand out even more.”

“Those are my natural features! A-As an alien, I cannot fully replicate the genes of you humans, and some previous qualities of my species will inevitably display. However! If it`s the eye color, with a little bit of genetic engineering, I can make my eyes become normal!”

(Is this what Takumi called Chuunibiyou?) Kyoya was completely bewildered.

“S-So! You will have no option but to accept your fate! Become my specimen and support me in my goal to fully understand the biological system of Earth! And your first mission is: make me some cookies! Or else… I will… I will…”

“Sure” Kyoya smiled “My sensei taught me that it is a man`s duty to protect women. I`d gladly help you, Eirin-san. What kind of cookies would you like then?”

Taken by surprise, the girl stammered inaudible things before her cheeks turned bright red. She looked down and softly mumbled:

“C-Chocolate cookies…”

“Uhm. Where do you live? I`ll deliver it to you during spring break. I have quite some free time, so don`t mind.”

“Really!?” Star shapes flashed in her eyes, and Eirin quickly took out a piece of paper to write down her home address. Afterwards, she ran away, her dazzling silver hair swung from side to side. Her house was close to Takumi`s.

That evening, the three of them had their daily workout session. This time they focused on techniques. Kenichi taught Takumi about the basic stances.

“So there are three stances that is applicable in real fighting. The front stance, neutral stance, and side stance.”

“Each has its own strength and weaknesses. The front stance is suitable for people with an aggressive in-fighting style. It supports punches as well as grappling and takedown defense, while only being able to perform one single kick: the front kick. The stance also limits your range and makes moving back difficult.”

“The side stance is a very fast and reaction oriented style. It enables you to move quickly in any direction, especially head movements. The side stance supports all circular attacks, from round houses to spinning fist. When combined with a low guard it becomes a bait to lure your opponent in, and surprise them with the speed of the style. Linear attacks are unlikely to hit, however the stance is extremely vulnerable to takedowns and restraints in general.”

“The neutral stance is in the middle: very versatile. Many attacks need to be performed from a neutral stance, so switching into this stance is compulsory. However it does not peak in anything, like a jack of all, master of none." 

 They kept on training, with corrections made from time to time. The session ended early. While Kyoya went to buy drinks, Takumi and Kenichi chatted. 

"... At first, I thought he was going to give up. But Kyoya didn't. He might be small, but he has a lot of fight in him. I mean a lot. Kyoya is really sensitive when it comes to women. He would react in a very aggressive way. But he was just emotional. He can't stand seeing others getting hurt."

"Gets a little emotional you say..."

From Kenichi's tone, Takumi realised how strong the martial artist was. An aura of killing intent as horrifying as Kyoya's would deter most enemies, while he just treated it as if a puppy was getting mad.

Kyoya returned with drinks, and the relaxing evening wind helped cooled them down. Although he seemed to be distracted by something, but is was surely a pleasant event.
