Unknown Cave Within the Unknown Forest
We made in time to the cave. Lom gently dropped me in the ground, helping me to fix my disheveled attire. Of that we began to enter the place, I found the nobles lay unconscious. I moved closer and checked their conditions. I noticed their abnormal breath and severe pain in their body. Before I gave them a medical operation, I ordered my little servant to patrol the area within one kilometer away from the place and reported immediately if he encountered some groups such as the previous enemies. He obediently followed and leave the cave.
As I continued the medical check up of the nobles, scratches and wounds in their bodies surrounded their head, arms and legs; results of the previous battle and viscous assaults of the vampires could be the main reasons.
Hmm, what should I do? I don’t have any kind of bandages or any medical kits. If I have those things, I can give them a proper medical treatment quickly.
I noticed that the young boy shook in cold. His face showed a symptoms of infection. Checking his pulse and breath, it might possible he experienced an illness known as fever. He was sweating so much. I need to seal his wounds immediately, but how?
“Oh damn, what should I do? His head is so hot, I think it average to 40.5 degrees Celsius. What should I used? I need to treat him immediately or else he might die in this illness.”
But how can I even do that, I could use my clothes to become a substitute towel but I don’t know where could I get a water. Also, I don’t know where could find a source. There’s definitely a river nearby but if I leave them behind, there’s a big chance there are monsters will smell them here and eat them alive! Damn it, this is not like what I’ve did to my Auntie when she was still alive. Damn it!
I wished I had a skill to recover or heal any kind of wounds and cure any kind of illness whether a cancerous one or unknown diseases that humans or demons can’t do.
[Wish Confirmed: Starting to commence forbidden skill]

A blue light illuminated from my hands, crossing to my veins. Witnessing the abnormal light passed through to my body, I stood up in fear.
“What’s happening? Uuugh my head, it’s hurt. What’s really going on inside my mind? God, I want to know my ‘status’!”
As I said that, a big screen came out from my eyes and showed up in front of me. I averted my eyes but the screen had never disappeared.
[[Skills Acquired: Recovery Magic]]
“.…Wait w-what? R-Recovery magic? Seriously, this is so unexpected! Oooh," I scanned myself, "The pain is gone. What was that all about? What’s this ‘recovery magic’ used for? I pray for a kind of ability to heal wounds not to recover something… Urgh, my eyes, s-some..s-s-something coming out from my eyes. Urgh!”
Few seconds later, the screen disappeared and something crossed to my blood vessel. The skill I gained had began engulfed my whole body.
The blue light came out, burning in my whole skin but no pain to be felt. In twelve seconds, it disappeared like a bubbles exploded. I felt an enormous energy inside of me. My eyelids and pupils unrealizable turned into bloody scarlet.
“Show the world your first Neo commandment…,” a strange voice commanded me to do so.
My body forcefully walked outside the cave, leaving the nobles in their current state. I started to enchant some rarities and phrases against my free will. A black emblem appeared and entered my head.
Few minutes later, I was now raising my hand, pointing to the nobles. I couldn’t do anything and unable to stop
“For the words of God, he gave his beloved son to sacrifice his own life to forgive those trespasses. He let him heal the world from its vain and sorrow. Let his word come true and be reminded by the world. Let him be the return to his throne as the new king of the world. I command thee, heal these people as I am the last key for the salvation of the world. Heal….” I said, unleashing an unknown magic spell.
A pierce of light struck down towards to our position, involving the place near within one kilometer. Lom witnessed the glimpse of the powerful tier magic and praised his master for the successful move he made.

All the living things had began to experience to feel comfortable and relaxed. While the dead resurrected including the goblins and umbra spiders we killed. A crescent moon emblem marked their heads.
The two nobles lay down in pain started to recovered. The wounds and scratches had healed and disappeared in a glance, including their clothes repaired as well. Afterwards, my control to my body had return. Totally surprised.
Of everything happened, this overpowered skill amazed me so much. I didn't know who or where that unknown voice came from but I thanked him for the great job. Yet, for some reason, I didn’t like his idea of unwillingly used control by him against my free will. He shouldn’t do that anymore!
I checked the conditions of the patience. The recovery spell I cast was successfully resolved my problem. Thank goodness for the great success.
Sunrise
Lom came back carrying an his hand-made bucket of water. He found out the two patience looked clean and in good condition. He fetched some water for our drink.
“...It seems master did an amazing job to these people. Hmm, but they are not people deserved a special blessing. They are just some low-life creatures. I must tell him not to interfere in this world or else it would trigger an another disaster.” Lom murmured, slowly dropped the bucket in the ground.
The young boy opened his eyes and rose his upper half body. Wandering his eyes, he saw his sister embracing his upper body. Couldn’t resist from overwhelmed joy, he cried.
“.…Sis! Y-Y-You’re safe! Wuha--”
But his mouth was covered by the servant.
“Oh you low-life creature, I know you’re awake but please be keep your voice down..” he said in full of rage. He didn’t want to awake his master by his cries.
“...Uwhaha..”
“...Sshh, you little bug, you should keep quiet or else your sister and my master will be awake in wrong timing by your worthless cries. What? You rarely see my appearance? Although I don’t sense any kind of engagement against me, you won’t stand a chance to defeat me in your current condition. Because in reality, you’re just a kid. So stop crying and quietly shut your mouth.” Lom flicked his forehead, making him to cover the part he hit.
The young boy obediently nodded. He wiped out his tears and held his sister’s hand gently instead.
“…Don’t worry, little bug. I have no desire of killing you both. Be blessed and thankful that my lor-, uh, I mean, uh, my master have saved you both from your assassins.” Lom sighed and said.
“...R-R-R-Really, you guys did that?”
“Am I the type of machine, I mean, person who’d lied in front of our guest?”
“..N-No no no no.. I mean you strangers did that even though you don’t know who we are?”
Lom moved closer to him, irritably stared his eyes.
“Hmm, you’re really pissing me off, huh? Do I have to spell in front of you about this simple matter.”
“... I-I-I’m sorry, I’m sorry, please I’m begging you. Don’t hurt me and my dear sister. I’ll do what i can in order to repay you guys.” He replied, bowing his head four times in a row.
Lom sighed and flipped his forehead for second time.
“Stupid little bug, I’m just testing you. I apologize for that matter. Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you and your sister.”
“..W-w-what?”
His sister had finally opened her eyes. She rose her upper body, genuinely yawn and wandered her eyes around searching for someone. She found her younger brother holding her hands, she quickly embraced him so tightly that he almost popped out his eyes. He managed to recoverer when she realized he was almost lose his consciousness. But she never stopped to check him. She scanned his whole body, patting with her eyes in careness.
“...I’m so sorry, Elizabe-… Eliza, I’m so useless. I thought I was going to lose you too!”
“No no no, sis! I’m the one to blame, I’m the reason why Uncle and everyone had died. I’m the one whose fault for these unforsaw event. Forgive me!”

‘Great, no… splendid. It was for naught.’ ‘Naught? Depends. If your desire is to send an army of killers our family’s way, yes indeed. If it’s plain survival you seek, then no.’ ‘They don’t coexist?’ ‘What… don’t tell me you’re still all groggy from the fall. Perhaps in novels, but real life is much tougher–––many more times a drag than anyone can possibly imagine. If dusty history is not a reliable teacher for you, then the pandemic surely took that place. At least that one has the advantage you needn’t be literate to savvy how reality always trumps imagination.’ ‘Whatever you say, whatever you say. So… what now?’ ‘Now? Isn’t it obvious? Now we shall survive. And live a good life.’ ‘Ohh… pretty much everything here has something against this little weird wish of ours. Might you consider?’ ‘Then pretty much everything here is a goner.’ ‘Hm, I don’t like the sound of that. Too much trouble, you see. I’d prefer laying low somewhere safe.’ ‘…nobody told you it’s mutually exclusive, no–––or did you forget about that too?’ ‘Fine, then I wish my future enemies all the best.’ ‘They are undeserving of your pity.’ ‘Of course not. That unlucky bunch won’t ever comprehend the reason behind their demise. Just let me smoke in peace and offer my condolence in advance.’ ‘Idem, let me study alchemy, unobstructed by all, if possible. This also includes you. By the way, are you sure you smoke to offer condolences? It seems like an excuse to me.’ ‘I-it is none. Plain truth, you see?’ ‘Seriously, why did I even ask...?’
8 261Recovery of a Life
The prince of a kingdom was erased from the world. His very existence an enigma. Follow Xopil as he forces his life into a world that refuses to acknowledge his presence. I tried to write a novel without including all the standard things you find in certain genres, or if it is included, I hope it's at least a fresh take on it, this includes me breaking the fourth wall, probably too much. I'm wondering if that helped with humor at all, and also reconsidering if that should be a part of the story. I'm going to be rewriting every chapter at this point... and that chapter I'm extremely disappointed with could likely be deleted if not redone entirely. Now that this story is marked 'completed', I'll be going through each chapter and fleshing out the story a bit, as I found it severely lacking, and I've been saying to myself "I could have done more with that." way more often than I should be. And that speaks to my own dissatisfaction with my writing. I make no warranty-express or implied-as to the quality of these chapters, or the story as a whole. Cover art by Roman Valeyev
