《The story of Willenstark Kraft》Chapter-11: A sign

Will drew attention everywhere he went. Even a few people tried to pet him. He was starting to wonder how easy his job as a mascot was going to be. He constantly thought of how peoples treatment towards him had changed after he returned from Lunsford's academy. They no longer treated him as if he didn't belong. Will arrived at the academy after a few senior citizens tried to pet him again. He ran directly to Kyle's office. "So, how do you plan on teaching me magic?" Will asked as soon as he entered Kyle's office. "Before I get started teaching you, we first need to take a photo to send to a person I know that is great at making symbols that we can use, the photo will also be used on the academy's and the cafe's webpages," Kyle said as he snapped a picture of Will. "What next, a tissue sample?" Will said flatly, due to his excitement of learning a spell. He would watch as his mom would cast spells to entertain him when he was young. "Yes, but first let's go to your office," Kyle said as he stood up. "My office?" Will said as he forgot about that part of their previous bet. "Yes, and here is your student ID and academy credit card." The headmaster said as he led Will out of his office to the other side of the main building to where they arrived at a door with Will's name on it. "Is this it?" Will asked. The room was the same size as Kyle's and had a similar desk. "Yes, so what kind of spell do you want to try to learn?" Kyle asked as he sat in a chair in front of Will's desk. "Are there any spell's used for increasing speed?" Will asked. "There are no direct ways of increasing your speed with magic. You can use wind magic to manipulate the winds around you to increase reduce or increase wind resistance. You could also use as a booster in the middle of a fight but continuous use will drain your mana and concentration." The headmaster said as he looked at Will. "Can't I just learn both?" Will asked. He was confused as to why Kyle was making him choose. "You can but you would make the best progress if you focused on one at a time," Kyle said as he looked at Will. "Okay, I would rather learn the boost spell first, and after I can use it decently in a fight then I will attempt the other." Replied Will after thinking it over. "Well before I can teach you the spell I have to explain how spells work. When you go to speak the spell incantation you have to also manipulate your inner mana to follow certain pathways such as your arteries, nerves and other such. So it usually takes between one to three years to master a spell enough to use in actual combat. The traditional tournament between other nations will be held within two months." Kyle said as he was about to speak of the wager between the alliance and the king, he stopped. "And if we lose we go to war against the Neo-monolithic alliance, and possibly be used as live sacrifices to their gods. " Will said before Kyle had a chance to. "Yes, that is correct and since you still have yet to hit the age of twenty, you can participate. I want you to train your hardest for these next few months. " Kyle said as he looked at Will seriously. "On a different note, here is a diagram for the pathways you need to send your mana through for the boost spell, it is called the Luftschub spell," Kyle said with a sad smile. Will took the diagram. "What is the incantation?" "zegenende wind," Kyle said as he left to return to his office. "All right, let's get started," Will said as he looked over the diagram and attempted to manipulate the mana like he was supposed to. The diagram said for him to push his mana out of the nerve ending's on the area of his body that he would like to get boosted. To put it simply he has to clad the area that he would like to get boosted with mana. At first, he was only able to feel his inner mana and not actually move it, it took him the better part of the day to make any slight progress. He was able to slightly clad his right index finger with mana. His phone started ringing when his left index finger started to become clad in mana. "Was there anything you need, dad?" Will asked as he answered his phone after reading the caller ID. He bought a simple flip phone at the Academy store. "I have a surprise for you when you get to the café," Shawn answered with a mysterious sounding chuckle. Will hung up his phone and ran to the café while gaining quite the number of stares with his wagging tails. When he arrived he stopped and did a double take. The café finally got a sign, it was one of Will drinking from a coffee mug while standing on the corpse of a vermillion deer. "What is this?" Will couldn't help but ask. "You haven't seen anything yet," Shawn said as he ran inside to the counter and flipped on a switch. Will was so shocked that he nearly fell on the ground. The sign's tail started to wag. "Why? Why did this happen?" Will asked himself as he tried to regain his balance. "It is your job as the café mascot to represent the café," Shawn said with a smile. "I know that but why did it have to include the deer," Will asked with a drooping tail. "Well, somehow the story of your battle against the deer got out earlier today," Shawn said as he remembered Kyle calling him and telling him about the announcement he was going to make. " Was it Kyle?" Will asked as he looked at the sign. "We are short-handed, would you mind taking orders?" Shawn asked as he avoided Wills question. " Sure, but I will embarrass Kyle at the first chance I get," Will said as he walked into the café. Will spent the rest of the day taking orders at the café. The customers were delighted at being serviced by the cafés mascot. Some even petted him, which was quite awkward for Will. At the end of the day he closed up the café like last time but nothing unfortunate happened as he walked home. He ate dinner with Shawn and Melany like normal then headed to his bedroom after taking a shower after dinner. He lied on his bed and began to think over what had happened that day. I am so close to performing my first spell that I can't sleep. I need to focus on my sword and spell training now that I am above the S Rank. I also need to embarrass Kyle. Will then brought up the celestial system: Tabs: Injuries Skills Maps Main: Name: Willenstark Kraft-Will Race: ??-Tailed celestial fox Strength: 14 Agility: 13 Intelligence: 15 Charisma: 5 Luck: -19 Mana: 34 Mana Manipulation: 13 Vitality: 17 Endurance: 20 Willpower: 23 Light manipulation: 6 Willpower: 16 Spirit: 11 battle Lust: 12 Mana Cladding: 2 What, Why does my luck keep decreasing? Did my ancestors bully the gods of luck? How am I suppose to better myself if my luck keeps getting worse? And why do my stats keep increasing when I have done next to no training in the last few days? Is there a way to increase my luck? Maybe if I pray to the gods of luck for forgiveness for my ancestors' transgressions the maybe they will leave me out of their feud. I really need to work on my swordsmanship and see if I can actually win the tournament so right now I don't have time to worry about my ancestors' stupidity. Will thought as he fell asleep. When Will woke up he ate breakfast with Shawn and Melany like normal. "Dad, I won't be able to work at the café for a while," Will told Shawn as he tried to sate his constantly increasing appetite. "Oh, so you are going to enter the tournament?" Shawn asked as he looked at Will with excitement. "Yes?" Will answered, wondering why Shawn suddenly got excited. "Good, this is a perfect time to advertise for the café. Do your best Son." Shawn said happily as they finished breakfast. Will began the day by putting weights on his forearms and legs while he went through the stances for the sword style he uses. He then showered and started practicing mana cladding while sitting on his bed. It could be said that Will has amazing talent in spell work based on how fast he grasped the theory behind the Luftschub spell. He finished his daily training in time for dinner. "How was work today?" Will asked as he looked at Shawn. "A couple of the customers asked about you. When I told you were preparing for the upcoming tournament, they said to wish you luck. "Shawn replied with a bit of pride. After Will ate dinner, he showered again and went straight to sleep. He was too tired to even think about checking his stats on the celestial system.
