Will awoke earlier than normal so that he could get a head start on his training. He booted up his drones and prepared to begin his endurance and vitality training. He jogged to the trails that would lead him on his path through nirvana. The drones were set to follow and would need to be changed to firing mode when he started his jog. The trail he ran on was five miles long and he normally ran it at least twice or until he passed out. He then ran back to his home where he showered and then ate breakfast with his parents. "How is the training?" Shawn asked as Melany just listened to their conversations like normal. "I think I will be more than strong enough for the contest," Will said as he finished his breakfast and ran to his room to practice mana cladding. He was able to clad his arms from his fingertips to his elbow. He as now halfway to being able to boost his arm movement speed. He continued to progress in mana cladding until he was able to nearly reach his shoulders. The next stage would be to begin working on cladding his legs. His progress would be miraculous compared to anyone else's progress. He then showered and got ready for dinner. "Will, how far have you came in mana cladding?" Shawn asked Will as they were eating dinner. Will cladd his arms in mana and looked at Shawn. Shawn stared at Will with his mouth agape. "How? Why? How are your arms glowing so bright?" Shawn asked completely shocked. "I am cladding my arms in mana?" Will said uncertainly. "The more potent a person's mana is the brighter the glow when cladding mana. The brightest reported would be about as bright as a 3-watt light bulb." Shawn with awe as he was shocked by Will's potential. "Even though if I don't train then I won't be able to bring the most out of my Mana," Will said. "That is correct. We are running low on workers today is there any way you can come in?" Shawn asked> "Yeah, I am far enough in my cladding to take a break and taking a break today will let my muscles relax," Will said with a smile as he finished eating. Shawn and Will walked to the café and began their normal workday. Will this included taking orders and being petted. They worked for around three hours when it was time to close. Will and Shawn were walking home like normal when they heard a loud scream. It was coming from the sidewalk ahead. Will ran towards the scream without a second thought. "Will, come back we need to think this through!" Shawn screamed as he tried to stop Will. Will ignored Shawn and kept running. He saw something weird in front of the light pole. It looked like something that would be sold in the bakery. It was the size of one of the vermillion deer that Will fought. He moved closer to see exactly what it was, but he didn't pay attention to the slash marks on the pole or the human features on the pile of flesh. He reached down and rolled the pile over to see what it was, what he saw froze him in place. It wasn't the fact that it was a dead body or the fact that it was a dead human, what shocked him to his core was the memories of Verrad. A strong wind came through while Will was frozen. He was too far in the memories to notice the sounds of the pole breaking or Shawn's frantic screams. It was too late to notice when the pole struck him and the broken power cables hit him and accidentally in his struggles, turned himself into a mummy. At first, he didn't feel the pole landing on his back and pinning his legs to the ground, he did however awake when the broken power cable collided with bare skin. He felt as if very own flesh was trying to rip him apart and as if his heart was on the verge of exploding out of his chest cavity. In his struggles, he only made his situation worse until everything turned black. When he opened his eyes he saw the same stars as last time except for this time instead of just golden stars there was also stars that were an ice blue that looked so energetic that it could run away at any moment. He continued to watch the stars around him change between that energetic blue and a majestic gold. The stars finally dimmed and Will returned to darkness. He awoke to a pain he had never experienced before. His lower back felt as if it was being split apart inch by inch. His forehead was burning and in agony. He barely was able to maintain consciousness. He struggled to row to his elbows, he then fought through the pain and crawled out of the cocoon he made. And then all turned black as Will fell and passed out again. Will awoke to a hospital bed with his parents sitting in a set of chairs near his bed. "Will, your awake!" Shawn screamed as tears ran down his face. Melany jumped and tackled Will into a group hug, then followed by Shawn. "What happened?" Will said as he was finally able to breathe again. "You were hit by that pole and somehow got wrapped up in those power lines, the doctors said that there was a chance of you never waking up again," Shawn said through his sobs as he and Melany still had Will wrapped in their arms. "Who was it that was under the pole?" Will asked as he recalled the remains that reminded him of the Verrad incident. "They were unable to identify it. You also had another change." Shawn said as he handed Will a mirror. What Will saw left him in shock. His hair remained the same. His eye changed again, instead of the golden flecks there was also flecks of that energetic blue color that he saw in his dream. The most shocking thing was what was on his forehead slightly above his temples. It looked as if a set of ebony nails were starting to poke through his forehead, something that will only assume were horns that were starting to grow. "Will, I am quite shocked that you are awake. Especially considering the damage that was sustained to your nervous system." Said the doctor that came into the room as Will finished looking at his new physical changes. He then began to do a full check on Will to see if there was any lasting damage. "There isn't any signs of damage." The doctor said in shock. "So will he be able to come home today, doctor?" Shawn said as he looked towards him. "I would like to keep him overnight to see if there is any damage that I overlooked. Let's let him get some rest.' The doctor who still didn't introduce himself told Shawn and Melany. "Wait, how long was I out? " Will said confused. "Five days." The doctor said as he led out Will's parents. Will was shocked. What kind of change did I get this time? Will thought as he pulled up the Celestial System: Tabs: Injuries Skills Maps Main: Name: Willenstark Kraft-Will Race: ??-Tailed celestial fox Strength: 15 Agility: 19 Intelligence: 16 Charisma: 6 Luck: -23 Mana: 40 Mana Manipulation: 15 Vitality: 15 Endurance: 22 Willpower: 25 Light manipulation: 8 Lightning Manipulation: 5 Willpower: 18 Spirit: 12 battle Lust: 13 Mana Cladding: 5 At that moment Will finally gave up trying to learn how the system works. Did I get any more skills from this? Will thought as he pulled up the Skill tab. Skills: Movement: Grace (Passive) Light magic: Healing light (Active/Passive) Lightning magic: Lightning Blood (Active) Wait, What is this? Will asked confused. "Lightning Blood - Uses mana as a conduit to increase response time." Will was shocked to see this life-saving skill. This is exactly the kind of trump card that I need for the tournament. With this, I will be able to use it to increase my reaction speed and further my adaptability to any challenge. Will thought with a smile as he fell asleep. The next morning Will woke up and after a few hours of testing, he was able to return home where he sat on his bed and marked down the days to the tournament. "I should be able to master the boost spell and begin working on the resistance one. There are five weeks left until the tournament begins. This is going to be fun. "Will said with a laugh.

Decompose!
Dear diary. When you read stories about some people missing and returning after years of absence claiming they were living in another world, your first reaction is to scoff and dismiss a story as a tall tale, right? I know I did. All the time. Until it happened to me and I no longer did. That day was today. Some god of thunder smote me. If it were Chris Hemsworth, I wouldn't mind but it was some barbaric Hitite god that abaondned Earth some four millennia ago. Yes, what can I say? I love the seventh art. I have more hours watching movies than any other activity, including sleep. What? Do you think I'm exaggerating? Maybe I am. I'll really miss hollywood the most. And my biggest regret is that I never got to visit the holy city of cinema. I did not come to another world to be a hero even though there was hints that they hoped I'd save it. I did not come with overpowered abilities able to, dunno, leap tall castles in a single bound, faster than a speeding crossbow bolt, be more powerful than a eight-horse carriage, the bounds. No. After the asshole god that murdered me brought me to his world, he gave me some boons from his discount bin and "The Power of my Soul (tm)". Forgive my french, I hope you understand I am rather upset at dying. And he somehow decided that my power is to recycle stuff. How awesome is that? Not much at first, I must admit. At least I got all my camping stuff and equipment with me. There's no lycra in the other world. I'll make it someday, but that day is not today. So here I am. In another world, in the middle of nowhere. I'm no heroine. As the song goes, I'm your basic average girl. And I'm assumed to be here to save the world. But almost everything can stop me, because I'm not named Kim. Wish me luck, diary. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ This novel is going have the following features: slow-paced slice-of-life No GameLit / LitRPG elements. Movie references. Sandra likes the seventh art. Journal / diary style crafting (includes chemistry, engineering and metallurgy) low magic technological advancement (for Sandra, at least. She is not against sharing though) personal relations clash of perception between the modern and ancient customs. bits of tension, fighting, and plot here and there. I won't repeat myself though. Once she crafts a good batch of soap, for example, she'll just note, "I crafted soap again." Once it is estabilished how she obtains compound X, compound X2 that is obtainable from the same process will also just be mentioned. I'll try to be as realistic as I can with the crafting, chemistry, and technology. Cover: Public Domain Image by StockSnap from Pixabay. No attribution required but we do it anyway.
