《Life of the dark god》Chapter 14 Boss fight

“Welcome to my domain invaders. You have reached the end, splendidly done. I am the Dungeon Master of this Dungeon and I challenge you to a life and death fight.”
The Monster that said this was another Skeleton. But this time it wasn’t a simple Knight. It had a deep black aura, not comparable to my black mana but it could frighten quite a lot of normal people.
“Am I right if I categorize you as a lich?”(Kylie)
Nice going Kylie. I actually had the same thought and wanted to ask him. I stared into his non-existent eyes. I couldn’t read the enemy at all.
“Welcome to my domain invaders. You have reached the end, splendidly done. I am the Dungeon Master of this Dungeon and I challenge you to a life and death fight.”
He said not moving.
“Didn’t he say that before? Is that the only things he can say?”(Me)
“Shut up and focus on the fight. I will think about it.”(Kylie)
“Don’t order me around.”(Me)
Unwillingly I stepped forward. I activated [black form] and the lich frowned. Finally it showed a normal reaction. After it realised that I accepted the challenge it stood up and summoned a black sword out of thin air. I wasn’t surprised because I did the same.
The fight began. I didn’t let my guard down but I didn’t want to do the same with him as I did with the Yeti. As long as I could win otherwise I would refrain from using so much mana. We exchanged quite a lot blows and I had some light injuries.
I used a [fireball] to distract it. It defended but when it did I had already beheaded it. I turned around to Kylie indicating that I won the fight. When I looked at her face she wasn’t happy or relaxed at all. She pointed at the lich and when I turned around it already finished chanting a spell.

Suddenly a circle with some weird inscriptions appeared on the floor and I could feel a lot of mana coming from inside of it. The ground started to shake and the lich started laughing. Kylie was a little frightened but she cooled down when she saw that I didn’t even bat an eye during everything.
“You are the first person I am using my Ace against. Feel honoured.”(Lich)
“You should probably finish your summoning first before you say something like that.”(Me)
I was excited. I didn’t want the fight to end so quickly. I would let him finish his summoning and would fight against him with all I had. In the worst case scenario I would use up all of my mana and if that didn’t work we could still escape somehow.
The ground didn’t stop shaking. It was so strong that some stones fell down from the ceiling. When the summoning ended we confronted a huge Skeleton Monster with 2 wings.
“The S class Monster Bone Dragon!?”(Kylie)
I read about it in the Dungeon guide. In general every S ranked Monster was on a Danger level of a catastrophe. The Bone Dragon was no exception. It was an undead with no heart and as long as it had mana and as long as its core was intact it would not die. What surprised me was that the Dragons are the race with the most pride. They would never lower themselves to another.
I had no time to think anymore because the 10 meter high Bone Dragon started to move forward and attempted to attack us. We both dodged rather easily. It rammed into the wall of the hall and the whole room started to crumble. The wall collapsed and the portal was visible. Kylie tried to get to it but again there was a barrier keeping her inside.

“No choice but to fight then.”(Kylie)
“That was my plan from the beginning.”(Me)
“Just make sure you don’t lose. I don’t want to die in a Dungeon.”(Kylie)
“Sure.”(Me)
I answered and smiled at her. After the Bone Dragon crashed into the wall it turned around and faced us again.
“Can you distract the lich for a while?”(Me)
Kylie answered with a nod and I summoned a sword for her to distract the lich while I would fight the Dragon. It was my first time fighting a Dragon so I wanted to be able to give it my all fighting it.
The fight was really weird. The Dragon attacked me with all it had, I dodged and it stormed into the wall behind me. It moved like it had no control over its body. As it had no chance harming me I had a similar problem because every time I hit it with my sword or magic and destroyed a bone or cut its leg or wing it would regenerate almost instantly.
First I thought it would be a fight to see who had more stamina but when I got close and cut its wing, I saw that it regenerated but noticed something. The mana for regeneration didn’t come from the Dragon. It came from the lich.
“We have to defeat the lich so the Bone Dragon can’t regenerate anymore. Let’s ignore the Dragon for now and focus on the lich!”(Me)
I came over to help Kylie. The lich didn’t predict that I would focus it too and was surprised. I took this one second to cut its right arm which held the sword. Before the arm fell down I swiped it of its sword and stored it in my white space.
The lich didn’t like that I stole its sword and gathered a lot of mana to attack us with magic.
“Now I am mad. Give me back my sword and die.”(Lich)
I could feel a strong aura from the Bone Dragon. So that was its plan. It would distract us while the Dragon would use magic to kill us.
“You go for the magic I go for the kill.”(Me)
“Don’t say something so stupid in this kind of situation.”(Kylie)
She activated her [Zero] magic and I took my sword and stormed at the lich.
“[Chaos Breath]!”(Lich)
When I reached it and killed it, it finished its magic at the same time and the Bone Dragon attacked with a breath attack.
“Not good I can’t block it!”(Kylie)
I ran up to Kylie after I killed the lich again. A bright light blinded me, indicating that the [Chaos] magic hit the [Zero] magic. A loud boom echoed through the hall. After some time, Kylie ran out of mana and fell unconscious.
She did everything she could now I had to do the rest.

The Madec Legacy
The dawn of Emotion Based A.I.s is here, John is the fifth test subject to have an AI implemented in his brain, and so far the first one to survive. Blinded by the dream of immortality, the researchers push the tests to inhumane standards. John is obligated to take part in sessions of torture designed to test the limits of the AI influence over the physical and mental health. What was supposed to be a new beginning in life turns into living hell. An (un)lucky twist ends his life. John then reincarnates with his AI in a new world where a System influences the interaction between Magic and Matter. With seemingly limitless potential and a game-like system influencing the world, the hero sets on his journey. --AUTHOR NOTE, PLEASE READ-- I will state here my promises to you, potential reader: 1. No harem! I don't trust myself to make a harem feel natural or healthy, I never met any person who has a personality that can adapt and live in a harem for reasons that are not monetary, so I can't draw inspiration from real life. Sorry!; 2. The enemies will not be bland and illogically mean. Some may feel like that at first, but I will take great care in fleshing them out, trust me. You may end up hating some, but you won't be able to deny that they had their reasons for what they did; 3. I am using a paid (and expensive) automated editor tool, and I take longer to write because I take my time in editing the stuff. I am aiming to improve and I will not shy away from constructive criticism, nor take offense for no reason; 4. Characters will die and will suffer, some will get over the tragedies and improve, others will not be as resilient. 5. This novel has a lot of ground to cover, it is neither a short story, a manual on crafting, or the script of some action scene. There will be both time skips and oversimplifications of some actions for the sake of moving the story forward. Time skips will be more prominent in the first 30 chapters. I will describe crafting processes and fights with more detail if they are essential for the chapter; 6. If I took my time describing something, it's because it is important. I hate novels that waste time describing useless stuff. If you skim over something, the chances are that something in the future will not make sense. I am an adept of "Chekhov's gun" principle; 7. I already have 31k words on my auxiliary documents, I have a plan for the story, and I will not be making changes even if someone ends up noticing some foreshadowing and figures out what will happen. The story comes first. 8. I have a wife, a job that demands 9h every day and courses related to my job (lawyer) three days of the week, it's unlikely that I will be able to do mass releases at all. I will have a healthy amount of chapters to be able to post at least 1 chapter every day continually. Don't worry. 9. I will read all the comments. I will listen to all you have to say and will try my best to accommodate demands as long as they do not hamper the path I prepared. 10. There is an arc that spans the entire novel. Each volume will be an arc in itself while progressing a little bit of the main arc. Every arc will have one or more main antagonists. I think that's it! Thank you for reading it all. Have an awesome time reading my first novel!!

After the End: Serenity
We all want to believe we are heroes of our own story - unless we want to be the villain, of course. At the end of everything, the Final Reaper decided he hadn’t been a hero. Driven by a desire to right the wrongs he was subjected to, he killed everyone who wronged him or his people - which turned out to be everyone that wasn’t killed by someone else first. He'd won - but it was a hollow victory. Eventually, Order’s Voice found a way out. If the only existing being would agree to give up most of his power, the Voice could reset the multiverse to an earlier time with a few minor changes. Of course, the Voice couldn't ask it that way. It could only ask if the Final Reaper was willing to start over from when Earth was first brought into Order. It was an easy decision, and yet it wasn’t. Was he willing to go through eons of pain again to not be alone? Yes. In a heartbeat. Not that his heart beat anymore. Now it would. Perhaps he could even be a hero, this time. When he landed in his old body - more or less - on Earth, the Final Reaper once again became Thomas. He was both and neither. He needed a new name for a new life. Serenity. ------------------------------------------ While this is technically a System Apocalypse story, it's a System Apocalypse that is designed to have a large percentage of the population survive and prosper. There are a lot of problems that come with the appearance of the Voice, and it's entirely possible to lose. Earth has some special opportunities, but also special challenges. The first time around, Earth won the first round and lost the second. Serenity has ten years from when the Voice arrives to prevent that from happening. It will be a group effort; Serenity can't win alone - which is difficult for someone who's been alone for as long as he has. Of course, that's only his second priority. ------------------------------------------- Updates Daily A note on the nonhuman lead tag: He isn't human, and hasn't been human for a very, very long time (or maybe not long at all, depending on how you count it). He still thinks of himself as human, either way. The content warnings are mostly to give me room to write; this fiction is not intended to be edgy, but once in a while a character will swear or someone will get seriously injured. The cover image is a Chandra/Hubble composite image of VV 340 / Arp 302 / UGC 9618. While we're not going to space itself any time soon in the story, people from elsewhere are coming to Earth and Serenity will visit other planets. Plus, I like space imagery.
