《Jezoi》Chapter 10 - I'm a big piece of metal.

My name is Richard and here I am, ready to meet an old Champion. One of the two that are still alive from the last God’s Game. Is an Elf, the other’s a Draconic.
I’m meeting him ‘cause I’m a Champion too. And an Elf.
But let me explain a bit how I arrived here.
Two days ago I was still living peacefully on Earth.
I went to a convention in Paris, yeah in France, after all, I’m French.
So the convention, it was the Japan Expo. There I chatted a lot with a guy I met there. To be honest I make a lot of fun of him. The guy was cosplay as a dwarf, I like dwarves, but he did it with pink. Who put pink in a dwarf cosplay? On my side, I was cosplayed as a drow.
So I made fun of him. And argue that elves were always better than dwarves. Frankly, I don’t care, I like both, and it depends on the universe. On Middle Earth, I found the elves better than the dwarves. In Naheulbeuk, it’s the opposite. There are worlds like those of D&D or Warhammer (not 40k, the medieval one), where I found they are both excellent in their part and are equivalent at the end.
I digress, let’s focus. At the end of the convention, I saw the pink dwarf waiting for the subway. I waved at him, he raised his middle finger at me, I made some little jumps like the retard I can be when I make fun of people. I don’t often make fun of the others, but when I do, I can go full retard. And I went. Retard enough to jump, and slip.
Yeah, I slipped. Right under the incoming subway. I died, like a moron. I died cosplayed as a drow, making fun of a dude cosplayed as a dwarf.
But, as you already guessed, it wasn’t the end.
I met a strange guy, with at least three broom stick stuck in the ass. Arnold, that was his name. He explained to me I’ve been chosen to become the Champion of Ioustilininianios the Elf God, God of all the Elves. God of All the Elves, like all of them, the good, the bad and the ugly. Not like there is any ugly elves, but they are some very strange ones. Like me, but I’ll tell you later.
Going back on the story. Arnold, he explained to me the situation. I’m dead, a God took a liking on me, and I’m transported to another world to compete on his name. Why did he choose me? Apparently, because I was dress like an elf and making fun of a dwarf at the moment of my death. It seems there is a lot of dwarf on Jezoi, and Ioustilininianios likes to make fun of his brother, the God of all the Dwarves. Strange right? The Elf God is the big bro of the Dwarf God. But once again, I digress. I must focus on what I’m telling you.
So, once Arnold finished with me, I had to choose a race and some other stuff. I had a lot of points, but not so many choices. No, that’s wrong. I had a lot of choices to make for my race, but they were all some kind of elves, it’s normal when the Champion of the Elf God. Most people just call him the Elf God, because Ioustilininianios is too long and too bothersome to pronounce.

I looked at the different choices I had and choose. After that I had to choose my Skill Trees, and because I had chosen one of the costlier race I didn’t have a lot of points to continue. I could have bought all the Skill Tree, but I would not have enough points to do what I wanted to do on the last step. I decided to choose the only one without a plus in the name. Those with the plus were those I knew I already have, my race and my condition has a Champion.
At the last step, the one about the Skills I managed to bought almost all of them. Even now, I don’t know what some of them do. In fact, I know, the names are pretty descriptive and the elves have told me a little bit about them. But the detail of the Champion Skill Tree is unknown to them.
And that’s one of the reasons I’m meeting with the old Champion. He’s named Louis, and he was the Champion of the Elf God one thousand years ago. For what I understand, he didn’t win, but he managed to survive it and to stay alive until now.
For helping you wait, I’ll show you my status. That’s a thing in this world. It’s like a video game, with stats and levels and all that. But no HP or MP. There is mana, but it’s not quantified in the status.
In it, you’ll see my race. You’ve been waiting, right?

Yeah, I’m an Iron Elf.
It means I’m an Elf, but I’m made of iron. Well, I’m not completely made of iron of course, but there is a lot of it in my body, especially in my skin and my bones. It makes me able to take some strong hit in the face, and not bat an eye. Like last night, when I peeped in Leonara’s tent while she was changing, she slapped me, and she’s the one who felted pain.
Who’s she? You want to know? She’s one of the elves who escorted me to the meeting. She’s a little ranger, and the cutest girl I’ve ever seen. I really like her, and I didn’t want to peep on her. That’s right, I only wanted to have a little chat. But I’ve learned my lesson, you ask before entering in a tent.
Aaaand I do it again. I digress.

Back to me. One of my Skill, the one about my stomach, it allows me to eat metal. Isn’t that great? I’ve tested it with a copper coin I’ve found on the ground. After cleaning it, off course. And it worked, I gain a bit of experience in the Skill.
And as you can see, I didn’t gain a lot of experience in most of them. It’s because the elves don’t let me train as I want. I understand that. I would be throwing fireballs everywhere if I was to train how I want. The only Skill I can train peacefully is the Extradimensional inventory Skill. It’s kind of a mini and private dimension. I can store whatever I want inside as long as I touch it with my skin, it can contain up to one cubic meter by level of the Skill, and I can put outside whatever is inside with the part of my skin I want. I could literally shit gold pieces, if I had some of those… I’m certain there is, but the elves don’t want to talk about economics, politic or how the System really works. Not until I met with the old Champion.
Anyway, I train the Skill by putting in and out a wooden spoon the elves gave me. At first, I was doing it with my shirt, but they got bored of seeing me bare-chested. It’s a fine shirt, a bit tight, but of good quality. It’s tight, like all the clothes they gave me. I arrived naked, and it seems I’m really bulky for an elf, but not for an iron one. They are rare, but usually, have more muscle than I have.
Oh! It just got to me! I didn’t tell you how they found me!
Well, it’s rather simple. They were waiting for me. The old Champion, not that they talk about him as ‘the old Champion’, they said ‘the Great Champion’, I’m the one calling him ‘old’. Well, he must be, he was there one thousand years ago, for the last God’s Game.
When I arrived on Jezoi, it was in a temple, in the middle of a strange symbol. I’ll describe it to you later, it’s the symbol of the Elf God. The room had only one entry, with a corridor leading to a place where I found my friends.
At first, they were wary of me. But I arrived from the inner chamber, I was a very rare kind of elf, and they were awaiting a Champion to come over there. So they cast two spells on me. The first to immobilize me, I was like a naked big iron statue of a bulky elf. The second spell was a translation spell, it allowed me to speak a language chosen and spoken by the caster for a period of one day. For what I saw, a day is 24 hours, like on Earth, but the case is still open.
Thanks to Lamariac, that’s the name of the caster, I can talk with the elves that accompany me. There is five of them, and they are like a full elven team of adventurers, the kind of team from the stories and games. With a caster, a ranger, a healer, a swordsman and a tank.
The mage is the chief. Is name is Lamariac, as you already know. Is a tall man without any muscle on his body. Blond hair, a face that seems to have been sculpted with sharp tools to look even sharper than the tools themselves. It’s the kind that makes you think he despises everything and everyone. He orders the others around by short and effective words, and they obey immediately. He wears a blue robe and uses a wooden staff with a blue gem on it. He also has a backpack and a purse on his side.
The ranger. It’s Leonara, I already told you a bit about her. The cuteness made flesh. Red hair, not red red, red orange, you know? Like a Weasley. And strangely there are some strands of green hair on each side of her head, behind her ears. Sometimes when I look at her and her small and fragile body under her leather clothes I wonder if I’m a pedophile, but no I’m not. I made a fool of myself the first time I talk to her, I thought she was a kid. But it seems she’s a grown adult, and the subject of her lake of feminine advantage is quite sensible. Like every ranger worth her salt, she has a short bow, arrows in her quiver and a pair of fine daggers. And she’s the only one without a backpack, she needs to be agile when she scouts ahead of us, and a backpack would hinder her movements too much.
The other woman of the group is the healer, Wilenia. If I get it right, she’s a priestess of the Elf God. That would explain why she always looked at me and avert her eyes every time I look at her, she blushes a bit each time, and never talk to me. It’s kind of cute for a full woman to act like that, and it put a lot of pressure on me. I have a feeling I must do something great in my life or I will disappoint her. But when she’s not looking at me I can see a beautiful woman, one who could put shame on Earth’s most beautiful women. Her dress is more colorful than a rainbow and the stone of her staff shines with a lot of colors.
The two warriors. Not much to say about them. The swordsman uses two swords and is named Kulirion while the tank has a shield and sword and his name is Joralen. They both wear chainmail upon leather armor.
Enough with the presentations.
It’s time for me to meet my predecessor. The old Champion of Ioustilininianios is about to let me in his office.
And I will have answers to a lot of questions I have, and maybe some answers to questions I don’t have yet.

The Tower Must Fall - Combat Gardener
If you're interested in a conceptual, ground-up rewrite leave a comment and tell me what you loved about it. I've got a pretty good idea of what everyone hated so there's no need for expounding on that. Gardener? A support class? This can't be! What was all my hard work for? Forget this world. Forget the System. Even if I'm a lowly support class, I'll take on the Tower and take them all down! Since the System appeared one hundred years ago, humanity has been divided into three: combat classes, intellectual classes, and support classes. Assigned at the moment of high school graduation, one's class determines their future. Rowan wanted the most out of life. A combat class, an intellectual class, either would be fine. When he is instead assigned a support class, Gardener, he notices the System is completely rigged against support classes. Refusing to give up on his dream of realizing his future by his own terms, Rowan challenges the Tower, the seat of the System and home of the Hero-King, in hopes of bringing the entire System to its knees. Season One complete. Permanent Hiatus, Pending Rewrite. Important notes: -LitRPG fantasy -Rowan is not perfect. He's got flaws, emotions, and personal issues to work through. If you want a perfect, overpowered MC who makes the right decision every time, this is NOT the work for you. -This story opens with a negative situation and an emotional growth arc for the main character. Please don't review until chapter 30 because the arc is not complete until that chapter. (Chapters are short, that's an average RR book's chapter 10) -No harem, no rape, no isekai, no romance -Questions? Please ask!
