《Bounty Cats》Book One: Chapter 22

Luna grabbed the railing and slowly lifted herself up onto her feet. Her wound closed, and the pain stopped. But it didn't prevent her blood from staining her dark leather pants. Oh well. She could always get her clothes washed at the laundry mat. Rei better kills the target though.
After she recovered, Luna held up her rifle. “Pistol!”
“Pistol!” She charged across the bridge as her gun returned to its handgun form. She kicked the door open and rushed through a corridor with pipes covering the walls.
Luna hoped her partner didn't get the chance to kill the target. She wanted to be the one killing the damn shark for hiring the pain in the ass hyena. If it wasn't for the shark, she wouldn't have lost her bounty. The shark must pay by her own hands.
Through another doorway, she entered a large with rows of water tanks. The facility's water storage, Luna assumed. Dark as ever, but still clear in Luna's night vision.
She tiptoed through the center of the rows. Then she stopped when two figures appeared toward the end of the chamber.
Luna widened her eyes as the figures approached her into her clearing.
Baby Shark approached Luna while he was holding Rei with a gun on her head. "Drop your weapon!"
Luna aimed her T-gun. "You drop yours!"
"Do you absolutely think I would listen to your demands?"
"I absolutely think you won't, chump! But I can pull the trigger faster than you."
Baby Shark growled with his sharp fangs exposed. "Who the hell sent you? The yakuza? The Pints?"
Luna smiled. "Only the law hired us."
“So you are bounty hunters. Damn you! You ruined my exchange!”
“And you ruined my last job!”
Baby Shark squirted his eyes. “Huh?”

“You heard me. You sent an assassin named Gonzo to kill Mr.Edger, the CEO of Ares Corp. Remember him?”
Baby Shark raised an eyebrow. “That greedy son of a bitch? Yes, I remembered him. I offered him a seat within my business, but he refused. He said corporate business is better than the black market industry. When I heard he was secretly trading weapons to criminals, I realized he was a hypocrite. So I iced him for pissing me off. Was he your daddy? Lover?”
Luna laughed. “He was my prey, and you took him away from me. That pisses me off too!”
“Too bad. It’s called competition, sweetheart. You win some, you lose some.”
“If I lose some, I would be sleeping on the streets already.”
“Then why don’t you work for me instead? I can give you anything you want-”
Luna pulled the trigger, shooting the shark’s head before he noticed. Rei fell from his arms as Baby Shark fell to the floor while his eyes widened.
Luna approached his body and shot him again and again.
Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam! Bam!
After she stopped, she lowered her gun, smiling at Baby Shark’s face, full of bleeding holes. “No, thank you. I don’t work with pieces of shit like you. I’m a bounty hunter, dumbass.”

Triquetra: A Multi-Class Isekai or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Accept the End of the Multiverse
Triquetra: An Multi-Class Isekei Adventure I know, I know, you have heard it all before. Yes I was hit by a truck. Yes I ended up in a Fantastical World suspiciously similar to one of my favorite RPG’s. Yes I had access to cheats no one else possessed. Yes it was a world of classes and levels and magic powers. Finally, yes I was an overweight middle-aged loser failing to live up to my potential. Given my eclectic reading habits I should have been better prepared. Unfortunately I was not. Sure I could multi-class with reduced penalties, but my starting class was Scholar! No combat abilities and very limited spellcasting. My HUD interface costs mana to use, and my universal translation seemed to be outsourced to Giggle Translate. I’m supposed to be an OP MC! Not a slice-o- life struggling to survive in the wilderness. Not to mention the Arch-Magus who summoned me, mistimed everything, I arrived 300 years too late, after the fall of the Empire I was supposed to save. The surviving remnants have devolved into Murder Hobos. What’s worse is that the Great Devourer, Ancient Calamity, and Spawn from the Void Beyond Time, Space, and Sanity is now aware of a new world to plunder, a world called Dirt! (Told you this translator sucks) Warning Extra Crunchy Authorial Vebosity! Lots of infodump in the early chapters, but I learn my lesson and it does get better, eventually. I do not own the Cover image, found it on a free image site.
