《Adventures of a Reluctant Pacifistic Monster》Ch. 6 The Conclusion of Mr. Pines First Great Adventure

He couldn’t move. It felt as if gravity itself held him down, as he looked up at that terrifyingly elegant monster. While he desperately tried to breathe, the owl continued to quietly look at him. After some time, it started to feel bad for the weak little creature and eased its mighty presence from his body.
As he was finally able to catch his breath, his mind came back online.
‘God, I thought I was going to die! It was just looking at me and I couldn't breathe! What if it were to attack me?! I don’t think I could do anything about it!’ He couldn’t help but have those thoughts as the owl continued to look at him.
As they stared at each other, he saw the owls feathers slightly twitch and it magically disappeared from in front of his eyes. He was shocked, until he heard a loud ‘Hoo’ right in front of him. Then he was terrified. The owl now stood on the branch right in front of him, still staring at him.
‘Motherfucker! What the hell was that! Did he fucken just teleport or something! Please don’t tell me he’s that fast!’ As his mind once again became chaotic, he didn’t notice that cute little squeaks would emerge from his mouth as he swore.
The Moonlit owl couldn’t help but find the little creature entertaining. Alas, it had already wasted enough time teasing the little thing and had to go. So, while he was still confused and squeaking the owl just let out some amused hoots as it lifted its wings and disappeared into the distance.
He was dumbstruck as he watched the owl fly away, ignoring him completely. Some time later, he calmed down and let the joy of survival wash over him.
‘Ha-ha, I’m ok! Thank the heavens! “Ahem” I mean of course I’m ok! I don’t know what I was so worried about, didn’t I just reread the effects of the adorable shield skill. I knew from the beginning that that was the perfect skill for my adorable self. Mr. Lunatic is a great visionary!’

After shamelessly ignoring all his past comments he couldn’t help but reexamine his past goals.
‘I mean, who needs to go out and explore hidden scenery, the scenery looks good from right here.’
‘Also, why risk myself in some unknown dangerous adventure, that’s not like me at all. I’m the type of person that must be way over leveled. When I played a game I always grinded in the first area way longer then I should have, just to demolish the first boss.’
‘That’s the strategy I should be using! I have all these acorns and there might be more, since the tree was picked clean and there’s no way that they all fit in here. There’re probably more acorns in other nooks in the tree, all I need to do is look around.’
‘Now, that’s a good plan. I’ll just slowly find all the acorns and amass lots of points. I can even try to level up my skills! If I repeatedly use my skills, they should level up right? It could be a little dangerous if I run into an enemy while the skills are on cooldown, but the chance is low since I’ll just be going around the tree looking for more acorns. Ok, perfect!’
Feeling proud about his new perfect plan, he started to feel hungry. He took that as a sign that it was time to get started on his new goals. But before he could do that, he had something important he had to do.
‘It’s time for the first adventure of Mr. Pine to end!
‘I had an incredible time! I traversed long and harrowing landscapes, ascended a colossal gargantuan tree trunk and epically battled against the creature at its peak, the winged calamity of insanity! It was a legendary battle, fit for the storybooks. But in the end, I prevailed and marvelously struck down the beast only to then claim its treasure as my own! And was that the end of my great adventure… NO! While I rejoiced in my spoils and victory, a being of unmeasurable power looked upon me, wanting for me to submit to its will! BUT I WOULD NOT YIELD! I glared back at that beings’ eyes and did not flinch! Unable to endure its own shame and failure, it withdrew in misery and I knew… I HAD WON.’

‘To end my first adventure on that note is right. Let’s see, if I had to grade my adventure, I’d have to give it… an S rating. Wait… I did get slightly injured in my epic battle so… let’s say S-. That’s fair.’
After, finally, concluding his first adventure, he started to look through all the acorns in the nook. He sorted the acorns, looking for the tasty ones, that would give him points, and moved the other ones out of the way.
He didn’t forget to activate his two skills while he was sorting.

This time he felt two different energies effect his body, one was familiar but the new made his body feel tougher. He was just going to wait for the one-hour cooldown to be over and reactivate the skills, after a while something might happen.
After reusing the skills once more, he was almost finished looking through the acorns in the nook. He piled up all the tasty variety ones and, after he was done sorting them, he counted them.
’96, 97, 98, 99! So, I found ninety-nine of them, I guess I’m lucky! If I add the two points, I already had, that should be enough for the second package in the exchange center. And with the special bonus that should get me twenty-two pristine points, but that’s still not enough for the life elixir.’
He was slightly upset that he was missing some points, but knew there was nothing he could do, for now.
‘I shouldn’t worry, at sunrise I’ll go out and look for the rest of the acorns. Now I should just worry about eating what’s in front of me, I mean how long is it going to take me to eat ninety-nine acorns? I was almost full when I ate those two normal acorns in the afternoon.’
‘Let’s just get started.’ With that thought he grabbed some acorns and began eating. They were still as tasty as advertised, but after finishing up the fourth one he noticed something; he was still hungry. To confirm a theory, he kept on eating, and after the twentieth acorn he felt it right to confirm it.
‘It seems like special vegetation doesn’t deplete my hunger, and it also doesn’t take up room in my stomach. Great! Know I can eat all the tasty acorns I want and then have two normal ones to satiate my hunger.’
After finishing up with the acorns, he knew that it was impossible for him to get the third package deal without risking his life exploring more areas. So, he decided to get the second package now.

After reading the confirmation, he was happy.
‘Man, all that counting was exhausting. There should be a few hours left before sunrise. I should go back to sleep to start off the next day fresh, since I’m going to be busy looking for the woodpeckers hiding places. Alright, let’s just check my stats and then it’s sleepy time.’

The Limits of Limitless
Author's Note: So, new author here, nice to meet you from this lovely one sided conversation lol. I was so tired of waiting for the perfect story for me so I decided to write a few of my own. These are basically just to make me happy, but if you enjoy them too that would make me happy as well lol. ______________________________________________________________________________________ So once upon a time, there was a convienent, and slightly cliche, plot device used by a somewhat lazy author.... Which in turn, created an easily made story of how a lucky high schooler posing as a hardcore gamer dies only to resurrect in a fantasy reality, meeting beautiful women, powerful dragons and ancient beings, an assortment of insanely escentric fellows, and a certain over powered ring. Journey with them as they explore the wilderness of twisted imagination. Or for you old timey folk who like their synopsis a bit tame, here you go: Jason, a senor in highschool, is slowly failing school due to not giving a fuck. Like many people now in the year 3056, he is obsessed with the wonderful invention most lovingly called, 'True Virtual Realities'. now by using his obsession with his favorite Virtual Reality game called 'Reality Controlled', which is the first and so called best Virtual Reality ever made. it was basically the all around escape humanity wished for, and he with heaven defying luck came across one of the three cheat items the game developers left for themselves: The Limitless Ring. The ring was a support type item and had the ability to grant wishes, store worlds, clone items, grant skills and easily learn abilities. But those are just a few of the things it could do. Using the ring he successfully became the "best player" and had a herd of fans following him everywhere. It was a dream come true. Until, he was killed from a power surge that fried his brain which was hooked up to the Nerve Capsule, an unsafe prototype of the Dive gear that he bought do to low funds. The end. Or so you would think.... ______________________________________________________________________________________ Author's Note: I was, to be honest, wanting to do a collab, because to me it is sooooooo incredibly boring to write by yourself since you always know what happens next, however no one enjoys a bit of friendly cooperation *sigh* so I'm forced to journey these roads alone.... 'Tis but a sad fate tha' 'is here young'un has t' bear. The cover isn't mine, all rights and stuff goes to its artist and such.

The Exodus Project
This is the original version of Origin before I rewrote it. It's much more simpler, some names and personalities are a little different. THere's nowhere near as much back story or character development/interaction. But the story is essentially at the end of book one. I wrote this 15 odd years ago, and with a bit of polish it doesn't look too bad. The story like Origin is about a group of college students who find a ship that is the last remnant of an ancient human space faring civilisation, they fix her up and go back into space. Along they way they'll meet alot of aliens, religious fundamentalists and conmen.
