Book 3: Chapter 4: Must We Fight?

Hina’s POV

“Mistress, it is time for the match.” –Joseph

“I’ll be there shortly, be sure to keep the Champions in the middle of the Coliseum for my grand entrance.” –Me

“Yes Mistress.” –Joseph

What a loser. If he wasn’t useful I’d probably end his existence just so I don’t have to look at him anymore!

Anyways I guess it is time to deal with these Champions, though for some reason my Quest hasn’t updated. I’m sure by now they are delayed enough, guess I really do have to kill them or something. Not that I really care.

As I make my way to the Coliseum I review what I know about these Champions. For simplicity sake I’m going to simply call them the name of their Gods, that will make life easier in my head.

Ares is clearly a retard. And considering he is at least the Demigod rank, that is weird since his intellect stat should be more than high enough to learn a thing or two. That means the problem isn’t the brain but the one using it! I guess pumping a retard with high int won’t stop him from being a retard, only give him more memory.

Well at least retards are easy to deal with, now the real problem is probably Athena as she looked the smartest. Thor on the other hand is just a random blond headed blue eyed bimbo. Sure she may be attractive, but that doesn’t make you strong! But I did recall seeing Mjolnir in her hand, which I call hax since the Gods are not supposed to give their personal weapons to their Champions! Well I don’t really know the rules so maybe that is allowed. Either way I’ll ignore her until the end, no telling what that Hammer is capable of.

In order to make an entrance I make sure to arrive in the center of the Coliseum via flight. And with a bang I land on the ground.

*BANG*

“Greetings citizens! Today we will have a match to see which is stronger. A Champion or a Hero!” –Me

*APPLAUSE*

“Greetings Champions, to make my life easier I’m simply going to refer to you by your Patron’s name. Side characters have no need to be introduced in any other fashion after all.” –Me

“Bitch when I get done with you, you will be screaming my name!” –Ares

“Yea yea whatever. So here is what’s going to happen. We are going to fight, if you win you get to leave. If you attempt to leave without fighting or try to destroy the audience… well you don’t want to see me mad.” –Me

Oh it looks like little Thor isn’t even scared and Athena just winced when I said that about destroying the audience… probably a softie.

“Before we start, let me unlock your cage so you have free movement. I wouldn’t want to have an unfair advantage. I will also walk back over to the other side to give you time for last minute strategies.” –Me

And I did just that. Curious that no one attacked me while I walked to my spot since my back was to them. I guess even the muscle head thinks he has honor or pride of a warrior, the two girls definitely wouldn’t attack but I thought I could end the fight quickly if Ares did.

Once I got to the other side and turned around I saw the Athena girl whispering to the other two, apparently she is their strategist and has a plan. Eventually she ignores Ares and looks over at Thor and they both nod.

“Are you ready?” –Me

“Yes.” –Athena

“Good, start whenever.” –Me

And before I could even finish my breath the two girls sprinted in the opposite direction and stayed up against the Coliseum wall. I figured they may try to fly away but it appears Athena understood my real threat. That is, if they try to run away, I will destroy the audience.

“*TSK* It looks like the two girls are smart and only the muscle headed idiot is left. Though I am curious why you did not run away yourself.” –Me

“I’m more than enough to take care of you, their plans are stupid and full of flaws!” –Ares

Ahh so that is why they nodded, they are clearly abandoning Ares. This may lead to some interesting developments.

I used this moment to walk back to Ares and stand right in front of him. I don’t fear weaklings after all.

“So what do you plan to do to little ole me?” –Me

“Die!” –Ares

Before I could even finish my statement, he already swung his huge ass sword at me in a vertical chop. But what really startled me was my danger sense did not trigger until the sword was a mere centimeter away from touching me.

Originally I planned to simply stop the blade with my fingers or even parry it with my dagger. But my danger sense told me to move so I did. At the very last second I became one with the shadows in order to move behind him. But what happened next really startled me even more.

SWORD BURST! –Ares

Apparently his sword is also an artifact and most likely Ares’ real sword! Getting hit by an artifact would hurt even me!

What happened next is hard to explain as the area where the sword interacted with my shadow, simply became dust as the sword exploded in every direction centered on that one spot. This pissed me off a little, so I took my dagger in my right hand and infused it with all the Darkness and Water element I could, this allowed me to create the strongest poison that I knew of.

Then I gave a tiny nick to his right and dominant arm. Then I blurred back into shadows and returned to my original spot as if the sword did no damage to me at all.

This all happened so fast that no one watching really saw anything, especially not with the dust. Eventually the dust did settle and when the crowd saw me standing there unharmed they started to scream and yell.

*CHEER*

“What that? How is this possible! No one can survive my secret move!” –Ares

This caused me to float back a bit since the ground I would be standing on did not exist in that current spot anymore. Once I was back on flat ground a mere 3 meters away from Ares I started to play my little game.

“I guess your evil vanquishing days are over! But before I kill you, I’m going to stand here and tell you all my evil plans before hand. It’s not enough to kill you, I must gloat first!” –Me

“What? What do you mean? I’m confused! Why would you tell me your plans? Also, you are going to die anyways! You may have dodged my first attack, but that was a fluke and you will surely die my second one!” –Ares

This even caused Thor to shake her head while Athena was doing a double face palm and I just stood there stunned at how stupid a person could really be. This stunned me so much that I forgot the rest of my monologue and started to improvise!

“Wait, do you really thing you are stronger than me even after your strongest attack did nothing? Are you really that stupid? Your strongest attack not only didn’t touch me, but it also caught me off guard! If you can’t touch me while I’m surprised, what are you supposed to do while I’m paying attention?” –Me

This caused him to pause for a second as his confidence dropped. Athena off in the corner had a look of total and utter disdain on her face and Thor just stood there stoically.

“Hah, I see what you are doing. You are trying to scare me so I can let my guard down and you can… ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG.” –Ares

“Oh I guess my evil monologue slash stall tactic actually worked. Even though I never finished my speech.” –Me

“W wha what happened to my right arm? Why do I feel sick? What’s going on… ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRG.” –Ares

First, his right arm fully turned black and started to corrode, then it fell off which caused the first scream. The it moved to his heart and that caused the second one. By the time he could even ask what was happening it was too late and he was dead.

*DING*

Quest Completed!

Well that explains that. Apparently the other two girls aborted their mission but since this idiot didn’t, my didn’t update until he died.

“Well that was anti-climatic. I was trying to do my grand finish with the monologue but no, he had to be dumb and interrupt me!” –Me

While saying this I started to walk to the other two girls, both of which were clearly not in a fighting stance at all. This confused me so I simply asked about it. As it is clear that Athena has a solution or something.

“So Athena, what is the plan? My quest completed so I no longer have to fight you if I don’t feel like it. You clearly understood my threat, but at the same time we are here in the Coliseum and fighting is what is supposed to happen!” –Me

“We surrender. We cancelled our quest long ago, only Ares the fool as you call him, wanted to continue this farce! We are not your opponent so you gain nothing for fighting us.” –Athena

“What about you miss Thor? I know you are itching for a fight. I recognize Mjolnir anywhere!” –Me

It was at this moment that I forgot all about Ares’ artifact sword. This caused me to glance behind me and at that moment I noticed it disappear in a bright light and shooting off into the distance. Clearly retrieved by its original owner.

Anyways back to Thor. She looks stronger than Ares and with her Hammer she should be able to put up a real fight. So I waited her response.

“Must we fight?” –Thor

And for the second time to day and second time total while on this planet. I was surprised! What she said made sense! As of now I have no quest to kill her and thus no reason to do it.

“What do I gain for not killing you?” –Me

“We promise to never go against you and even help you if you need it in the future.” –Athena

“I agree to these terms.” –Thor

“Fine fine I’ll keep you alive, you are welcome to be a guest in this city or even the Palace for all I care.” –Me

Then I raised my voice and yelled to the audience.

“The idiot Champion Ares is dead, apparently he had enslaved the other two and they are not here to fight, so as the Hero that I am, I am freeing them and giving them a home here in this fine city!” –Me

*CHEERS*

And like that I washed myself with this stupid quest and went back to Kiki’s room to see her progress.

‘Hey Sally, when will Loki’s Champion get here?’ –Me

‘At this rate, probably around when Kiki will come out of her cocoon, so two weeks?’ –Sally

‘Okay then what is her name so I can welcome her.’ –Me

‘Alice and she is around 5’5” in a slutty black leather outfit with black hair and light blue eyes. She also has a large C cup which might help the idiot guards recognize her.’ –Sally

Her description felt familiar but I just ignored it, many people look like and have similar proportions after all. Fortunately, Joseph was in the room with me so I gave her the description and name so that she will be sent to me when the time comes. Also to prepare nice rooms for Thor and Athena or whatever their real names are.

Nick’s POV

Finally after 7 long boring weeks we are at the end of this journey! I don’t care if this Overlord is the nicest person or evilest person, he’s going to die for no other reason than this journey sucked! –Nick

“Okay we are underneath the Overlord’s main chamber. You are up.” –Gobrok

“Solaria make some room.” –Nick

“Roger that.” –Solaria

And just like that Solaria turned into the sun and shot straight up creating a huge 3 meter radius hole that ended up inside of this weird chamber that only an egotistical maniac would use.

Nick quickly rushed in after her to be sure to stop her from any wanton killing before he got to monologue. This time Nick is for sure going to get his monologue done before getting slapped away or attacked or anything else, he can’t have a repeat of his first wedding!

Inside the first thing Nick noticed besides how stupid the room looked was an Angel sitting on a fucking throne! Why is there a throne here? How pretentious can he get! (Nick is just jealous that he doesn’t have a throne).

“You must be the Overlord, any last wishes?” –Nick

“Yes that is my name, but who are you and what are Humans doing on Sedge?” –Overlord

“Hah I knew it! No way there would be multiple factions on this planet unless the goal was to kill everyone as time runs out! This means you are not from Sedge but from some other planet that actually has Angels as I doubt they are from here.” –Nick

“Ugh, it was the Human thing that gave it away huh? After all, no one here has ever actually seen one of your despicable race. After all, you guys are just Angels but without wings, really the same race just a lower form of evolution.” –Overlord

“Hah I suppose this is true, and I’m guessing you can make your wings disappear if you want meaning you would look just like us without them.” –Nick

“Yes yes, but answer my question, why are you here?” –Overlord

“We are the ones that killed the Elves and now we have sided with the Goblins to end this war and destroy you.” –Nick

“You and what army? I’m a Peak stage God, I’m way stronger than the regular denizens of this planet!” –Overlord

At this Nick had to grab Solaria’s arm and slowly shake his head at her. Since he already set up Mind Link ahead of time for the journey it was easy to explain what he meant with just a look.

‘Leave this one to me, no reason for you to dirty your hands my love.’ –Nick

‘Okay.’ –Solaria

Though her face was already red, she seemed to blush even further after this exchange.

“Ahh how cute, the little humans thing they can stop me, I’m an Archangel! The highest form of evolution for your kind! I’m a single step away from ascension and joining the rest of my family! Once this world explodes I will use the insight gained from all the Gods energy to ascend!” –Overlord

Finally, my turn! –Nick

“Yes, and your plan might have worked, if it wasn’t for the fact that you ran into the true Embodiment of Evil, The Harbinger of Chaos and the Sower of all things Bad. You my friend, have run into Nick Cage! Prepare to fight!” –Nick

Then Nick gave his most evil pose and grin. This caused Ruby to smirk, Solaria to blush, Maya to have an orgasm and Lily to faint from lust overload.

It was at this moment that the Overlord noticed Nick’s costume and wondered if maybe Nick had some type of technology that could actually kill him. Of course he just laughed internally as he has a plan for this small thing to occur. Being a being that knows about technology, of course he would have countermeasures!

“Hahahahahaha, that sounds good and all.” –Overlord

Then he took a device out of thin air.

“But must we fight?” –Overlord

Then he mashed a button and the most obvious and cliché thing happened. An EMP went off.

This caused both Solaria and Ruby to laugh, even Maya caught on after awhile. Lily was still on the ground squirming while fondling herself.

“Please, that is the oldest trick in the book. Do you think that the Master of Evil Monologues would be caught by such a simple trick?” –Nick

“Hahaha, laugh all you want, but your technology won’t work anymore! So now that I am in the prime position I’ll ask again. Must we fight?” –Overlord

Then Nick activated the power in his costume to max and responded.

“Yes we must!” –Nick

Then with the speed that transcended the mortal realm, Nick moved his body while at the same time relieving the overlord of his head and heart. As Nick has been fooled before. He then tossed both head and heart to Solaria.

“Take care of these for me would you love?” –Nick

“Yes honey!” –Solaria

FLASHBURN! –Solaria

And just like that the reign of the Overlord was ended.

“Love it when magic trumps technology. Makes fighting idiots who have neither, very easy and satisfying.” –Nick

“H h h h h h how did you kill him so easily? I didn’t even see you move and then he was dead!” –Gobrok

“I already told you, magic. Your planet doesn’t have it at a high enough level, and Angels don’t need it, but they do fear technology so he only had a single device to get rid of technology. My drooling wife over there on the ground is from a planet that has mastered magic and all of us have trained in it to the Godly realm. I simply boosted my physical stats by a factor of 2 and killed him before he could respond. Very simple stuff really.” –Nick

Nick makes it all sound easy, but if it wasn’t for the ability to make technological devices that were powered by Aura and then the use of magic to make it even stronger, he would never have been able to make a suit that went over a 10.0 Aura. His current suit went to a 40.0 Aura so one can image the power gap between him and the Overlord.

“So now what?” –Maya

“Now we find out how long until Voarag wakes up. Sally when is that again?” –Nick

‘Should be in a few days.’ –Sally

“So now we wait the few days for Voarag to wake up then go to our new coordinates!” –Nick

“Yay! Let’s have more fun!” –Maya

And fun they did. Nick and crew teleported back to Gobrok’s home to drop him off then went back to their temporary dwelling to wait for Voarag to wake up. Only Lily was still in a lust coma and there was only one way to wake her up. Thus for the next few days they simply had tons and tons of sex to remedy the situation.

Alice’s POV

Finally. After two months of tempering myself, I’m finally able to finish this stupid quest! All the blood sweat and tears were shed on the path that I tread. Of course all the blood and tears were from my enemies, but that isn’t really important. Also I didn’t break any sweat either so I guess that was from my enemies too.

‘Okay fucker I’m here and soon the Consortium will be finished. But why am I even doing this? I don’t even fear them now!’ –Me

“You need it to be stronger! It will make sense later. You aren’t even stronger than the average Champion right now, no way you could win any War!’ –Loki

‘Fine fine whatever. Time for stuff to die.’ –Me

I took this moment to survey the not so hidden hideout or rather castle of the Consortium. I guess now is a good as time as any to say hello. Stealth is fun and all, but I need to destroy everything!

“Denizens of the dark, come hear your mistress and do my bidding!” –Me

COMMAND UNDEAD! –Me

Soon a horde much larger than even the one the Lich back in the crypt summoned was in front of me waiting to do my bidding. Unfortunately, I can only summon creatures of 1 rank below me or lower. Thus, in front of me is a horde of 9th rank and Saint rank undead. Fortunately there are plenty of mages and knights or I’d be screwed. There were also about 10 dragons which was nice.

“Mages destroy the walls, Knights defend them. Dragons? Why don’t you just go say hello and destroy the entire castle. Everyone else kill everything you see, especially if it is hidden in the dark! Nothing can hide in the dark from the dark!” –Me

*ROAR*

This caused the dragons to roar and the mages to start casting spells while the Knights got in position and the rest ran in and started killing without abandon.

I feel extra special I summoned a throne of bones with two bone poles to hold it up. I then called four undead Ogres to carry me forth to have a better view of the destruction. I’m the Mistress of the Dark, there is no reason for me to actually fight anything at this level!

Eventually all the buildings were destroyed and all but one room of the castle was destroyed. At this point I could only sense one lifeform left. But this one lifeform was enough to send chills down my back.

*BOOM*

Finally the last room was destroyed, but it wasn’t by my minions, no it was destroyed from the inside. And out came the strongest existence I have faced since seeing the 7 Goddesses at the very beginning of my journey.

What walked out was a short old man that was hunched over so didn’t look much over 5’7” but since he was hunched he was probably 5’9” or 5’10”. But the scary part was he looked old and decrepit. And as a Mistress of the Dark I know what this means. As those who follow the dark get stronger the weaker and older they look. He was so strong that he didn’t even have to become a Lich! That means he is alive and did not go down the path of magic but that of a rogue! He is definitely at the God rank.

Knowing my creations could not fight them I simply dismissed all but the 4 Ogres holding me. Finally, the old man spoke.

“You must be Alice. I heard great things about you.” –Old man

“You may refer to me as the Mistress of the Dark.” –Me

“Hohoho, the young these days. Think they get a little bit of power and then can take over the world or whatever it is young immortals do these days.” –Old man

“I’m not here to take over anything. I’m simply here to kill you.” –Me

Somehow, even though I knew I couldn’t defeat him, I felt confident.

“But why dear? No reason why we cannot start all over and remake the Consortium.” –Old man

It was at this point that I remembered the quest said I could pass if I joined them or killed them. So I actually have a choice to make. Be a slave to these people or become free. Well I’m the Mistress of the Dark, clearly I’m going to become free or die trying!

“No, if I do not kill you, I will never have my freedom.” –Me

Then I dismiss my throne and Ogres and remove my cloak to show off my body. Err um... I mean to have easier movement for the fight.

Funnily enough, the old pervert’s eyes got big as saucers and his face turned red. It was at this moment that I wish I learned some seduction techniques! Surely this fight would be easy then.

“Hohoho, don’t think you can simply seduce me and obtain victory. But now I have no intention to let you go, you must become mine!” –Old man

“Prepare to fight old man!” –Me

“Wait wait wait. Must we fight?” –Old man

This made me pause as his strength was much higher than mine. Wait, didn’t I reach level 200? Wasn’t Sally supposed to do something for me? Well I know what I want!

‘Sally I know what I want for reaching 200. Give me more power!’ –Me

‘Pfft boring, but okay!’ –Sally

*BOOM*

With a wave of dark energy, my body was lifted into the air and I could feel a breakthrough! This is amazing as I had just consolidated my core for the last breakthrough. I’m at least a week or so away from another breakthrough! But with this, I will finally be at the God rank and have a chance!

“What is going on?” –Old man

“MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Yes old man. We must fight!” –Me

And with that, we both disappeared into the shadows. I could feel that not only did I have a breakthrough, but my core was consolidated to the highest amount of power!

This rank is weirder than the others, before I could feel a ceiling on my mana core and knew that I could get stronger. But now I do not feel that. I feel like I’m as strong as I’m going to get without shedding all that I am. One day I may meditate on that, but then again I’m the Mistress of the Dark. I have no need for such things!

Seeing the stalemate the old man spoke like an idiot.

“No winner will be decided at this rate. No reason for us to not be friends!” –Old man

The idiot spoke, now I’ve locked on his shadow and he will not be able to escape!

“Fool, your death is now assured.” –Me

Then I did something I didn’t even know I could do. I warped into his shadow and exploded! I then ordered my exploded shadow to come back together and reform into my original self.

*DING*

Quest Completed!

“Finally, now for my final task.” –Me

*DING*

Quest Accepted!

“Okay let’s see what this one is since Loki is being quiet. Show quests.” –Me
