《The Swords of the Guardians》Afterword

Well, this is the end. I have no idea what to say -- this novel has been an adventure and a half. Since the inception of this idea literally one year ago, so much has changed, Swords of the Guardians went through a few iterations (starting as a forty thousand word novella written by a dumbass) and I have seriously improved. This current draft of the novel you read has some serious flaws and, even if it’s completed… doesn’t mean it is. This story has finished, but I’m not done with it.
I’m here to say that I have an eeeevil plan!
First of all, I’ll let this novel sit for a while, collecting dust and a handful of views. In that time, I’ll be occupying myself with a Sci-Fi LitRPG series that’ll start coming out quite soon. After 3-4 books and a very long time, I’ll return to Swords of the Guardians. I want to flesh the characters out, fix the plot and pacing issues, and make the world a bit more interesting. Most importantly, I’ll have some fun with the fight scenes.
Yeah, I’ve improved so much I can clearly see where I went wrong.
Swords of the Guardians is the best thing I’ve written, but it was supposed to be even better. A few broad mistakes ruined everything: I forgot about the initial vision I had for it and lost motivation. I’ve realized that uploading a novel as you write and edit might work for some people, but it's definitely not for me. My work has to go through countless iterations and endless read-throughs before it’s as good as most of the novels where the author just winged it, or even before I start to see where I screwed up.
Nonetheless, I’m happy I completed this thing and very happy someone actually read it.
