I might have forgotten that Tyler is a battle-junkie. Kinda just slipped my mind, well it’s probably for the best. I don’t think that he would do half of the things I want to do otherwise. Speaking of things I want to do, I need a new hobby. I’m debating between alchemy and enchanting. Definitely not because I think they are really similar to curses.
I really picked them because they seemed fun and exciting. Both offered a new way of power and with my newfound mana manipulation, both should be easier than normal.
Alchemy was a pretty good bet as it was the easier of the two to sell and manufacture. I’ve seen potions that did some outlandish stuff, like changing your race. By that, I mean an elf or dwarf or whatever you wanted. It was bonkers as people found out that each one had a different bonus and if you took it before awakening your bloodline you could get one exclusive to your new species. I heard of a race called curse kin and I want to be that. There are also stat-boosting potions, both temporary and permanent. You can only use one of each permanent one though. The last pro is the really weird ones like the bouncing potion which makes anything it splashes on bounces for an hour.
Now enchanting though offers a more permanent nature of power. You can translate spells into enchantments. My favorite part is body enchantments, which weren't exactly legal in my last life given the fact you had to experiment on humans to fine-tune it. Enchantments are less weird and more practical like raising stats or having a spellbound to it. I did hear of an enchantment that could bring you back to life once, it was really expensive.
While I was having these thoughts Tyler was fighting another hobgoblin, this time though he ditched his shield. I really hope he doesn’t try and fistfight one, he will lose. Though with just his sword he’s still winning.

Going back to my much more important debate. The upside to enchanting is that I could, in theory, get started right away. All I would need to do is force ambient mana into a liquid form and keep it that way until I make the enchantment. The downside is that I might need to have more spells than just curses to make full effect of it. I don’t know if it's worth it, it might ruin my goal to be the best curser, but for the sake of my sanity, and for fun, this time I’ll do it. I still won’t cast them though.
Overall I think the best option, after weighing the pros and cons, is to do both. As I come to my glorious decision, Tyler finishes off the hobgoblin with a roar, severing its leg. Tyler turns to me as the monster disappears into smoke. Tyler says with a grin “Give me a minute to recover then it's boss fighting time.”
After a couple of minutes of chit-chat, Tyler is ready to fight the boss. He wisely decides to not use the shield. The goblin baron could break it in one punch by my estimations. Tyler walks into agro range of the boss, ready to fight. The boss sensing him gets up and charges. Tyler screaming a battle cry and helps close the distance, probably hoping that it’s easier to dodge when it’s closer. He’s right, this floor is one meant to help melee people with their dodging, if in an extreme amount. Tyler is barely dodging the blows but is retaliating after each one slowly whittling down the health. It wasn’t too exciting from my perspective but must have been exhilarating for Tyler given his smile. After 10 minutes of combat, the baron went down to the classic ‘having a sword in your chest’. Then it puffed into smoke dropping the item I wanted for Tyler {The Sword of lesser Retaliation}.

[Irregulars] are people who are gifted with talents and skills that make them as strong as [NCO’s]. Author's Note: This story is pretty much something I'm writing for myself. I've had this story in my head for about two years now and it's time to put it down in writing. Expect a new chapter every 2 days.
