《MHA: The Wolf of the End》Chapter 14

[Location: Unknown…]
A void…
Devoid of light..
Floats a Ship…
A ship of massive proportions sailed through the endless abyss, covered in silver nails of dead Mortals, corroded by red Ice and blue Fire..
On the upper deck sat a throne made of various bones of unknown beasts. Frozen flames encircle the mighty seat of sovereignty, burning colder than the frost covered deserts of the north…
There, seated upon this symbol of Death, was a single woman seeming to be asleep.
She looked to be just out of her adolescents, budding into her mature stage of life..
Her clothing, a long black dress covered in plated silver armor. Carvings of dead mortals that have long left the living plane chiseled into story’s foretelling tragic Deaths.
Laying next to her feet was a hound.. But none like in Midgard.
This colossus of a dog, at least the size of a city bus, laid down. Fur the color of dried blood itself fluttered from none existent wind. Eyes of hellfire stared out in boredom as a mouth filled with flames huffed every few minutes.
But strangely, the weirdest thing in this situation is not the ship made of toe nails.. or the throne made of bones.. or even the massive hellhound laying next to the armored lass.. No, what was unnerving..
Is the woman herself..
Her face was like looking into a painting.. one that portrayed Life and Death.
On her left side, skin as rosy and pristine as a living doll…
Eye, green as the forest in the bloom of spring..
Hair, Red as a fire in the hearth of a home..
Warm and inviting..
But her right side was the polar opposite.
Skin, pail and cold to the touch..
Eye, Frosted blue like a frozen corpse..
And her Hair, white as the freshly felled snow of Fimbulvetr. Only one being could embody these traits..
The void around her still, unchanging entropy stagnates all around..

Then, Her eyes open. The blue flames rage to life as the monster at her feet looks up at his master. It wondering why she final awakened after millennia of sleep.
Her lips slowly twist into a smile as cold and warm as here domain.
“Finally..” Her voice, like a summer breeze and winter frost, echos through the void.
“He has awakened..” She looks down at her furred companion..
“Which means.. That Ragnarok is once again upon us Garmr.”
The Mighty hounds eyes widened, not expecting to here that name ever again.
“Ragnarok?!” The hound named Garm asks.
“But who could bring back such times Lady Hel! Who is left that could bring on such a calamity!” Flames fly from his maw in fear.
Hel, Goddess of Death, laughs at her Helhounds stupid question..
“Hahaha! Oh Garmr! Who do you think!” She stands up, joy flooding her as she relished in this feeling she haven’t felt in eons!..
Happiness!
“Its Fenrisulfr! My long lost Older brother!”
Garmr flaming eyes filed to the brim, almost erupting in shock.
“Fenrir has returned! But I thought you could not find his soul after the last Ragnarok?! Something about it being shredded by the son of Odin, Vidarr!”
Her smile dampens, turning from joy to displeasure.
“Yes… It does displease me that I, The Goddess of Death, could not find my family’s souls after Ragnarok..”
As quick as her joy left, it came rushing back once more.
“But that doesn’t matter now!” She snaps her fingers as she plops down onto her bone throne.
A inky cloud of mana leeks from Hel’s fingers, swirling into a flat circle. It starts to condense until finally a image appears on the surface.
The image shows a child of 15 winters, talking to more of his kind as he walks a concrete sidewalk to school.
His long night colored hair and fuzzy ears and tail make him stand out from the crowed..

Well that and his height.
But what drew her in wasn’t this..
It was his soul.
IT WAS MASSIVE!
It eclipses Midgard, Mani and Sol! Covering them in crimson fury.
How could she have missed this! There is no possible way a soul this big could have evaded her for so long!..
Then it struck her like Thor’s hammer Mjölnir!
Someone has concealed him away from her sight.
But, there is only a one being that is capable enough to hide her Brother from her. But the thing is..
He should be dead..
“Fenrisulfr doesn’t seem to be the only long dead relative that evades my sight it seems..”
Hel’s grip on her throne starts to crack the arm rest as her anger shakes Helheim to its very core. The cry of souls ring out through the dimension, fear of punishment lasses there wail.
Her eyes close once more, trying to calm herself.
“How Perplexing..”
[In class 1-A at UA…]
Ive hade this strange feeling since this morning.
Its like.. Someone is starting at me…
But every time I turn to were I feel the prodding of eyes on me…
There is no one there.
It could be my imagination, but it keeps happening every couple of minutes.
It doesn’t feel hostile.. its just a irritating poke on my soul every time it happens.
Which is really distracting when your trying to focus on what the Teachers are trying to teach!
Momo keeps looking at me worried. She is probably thinking that she kept me out to late with karaoke.
Its almost time for the class to start and I haven’t felt the strange sensation yet, hopefully whoever is peeping has had there fill..
A voice Booms through the door, “ I AM HERE!”
I recognize it right away! Its Al-
The door slams open to reveal All Might in all his Silver age glory!
“COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A HERO!”
The class starts into a frenzy, excitement prevailing through the room.
I couldn’t blame them, All Might is after all what all young Hero’s seem to shoot for.
He gallantly strolls into the room, but right behind him was none other than..
Mother.
All Might strikes his signature pose, giving off a mighty and dignified air.
“Welcome to the Most important class you’ll take at UA HIGH! Think of it as HEROING 101!”
He flex’s his mighty muscles that would give Thor himself a run for his money, and continues, “Here you will learn the basics of being a pro!”
He then stands up to point to my Mother, “Mrs. Wulfric is here to assist me in my endeavor to relay this most vital information to you young Hero’s!”
As he says her name, She just smiles and waves.
“Now.. LETS GET INTO IT!”
He spins around, throwing his griped hand out to show a sign that says Battle written on it..
Does this mean what I think it means!
“Today’s lesson! PULL NO PUNCHES!”
HEL YES! THIS IS WHAT I HAVE WAITED FOR!
“But one of the keys to being a Hero is!… Looking good!”
He turns, pointing to the wall on the left side of the class room.
Air squeals out, leaking from the slots in the wall as rectangular segments eject from it. In these sections of wall, where cases labeled with numbers.
“These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms and the request you sent in before school started!”
Cheering rang through the room as my pack mates anticipation blew the roof off the building!
Hel, I almost howled myself!
“Get yourself suited up! And meet us at training ground Beta!”
“Yes Sir!”
Finally!
Its time to have a little fun!

I wrote this when I was 16/17 (which was many years ago now!) on a really old PC I called Phylis. I remember having to print it out on an old ribbon printer to submit it to publishers - this was back before esubs were the norm! It never got picked up and I ended up self publishing it. I hope you enjoy.

Returning their hard-won cargo to THE SILVER ORDER in their city stronghold in BAVAT, they find their well-deserved rest will have to rest – half-elf wizard GAEL FOXTAIL’s father has disappeared while performing an investigation in the coastal city of UNTERMER, and it’s up to our motley crew to find him. But there are daker forces at work here, and as they uncover a dark conspiracy and form an uneasy alliance with a trio of tough sellswords with their own stake in the game, led by dwarven warrior THELGAEWYNN FROSTFORGE, the Creeping Bam begin to suspect this may be connected to that unfinished business they started back up north … This is a love letter and homage to the high-fantasy worlds of the tabletop RPGs like Dungeons & Dragons, Pathfinder and Warhammer and the sword & sorcery cinema and literature I fell in love with as a kid growing up in the 80s, from Robert E. Howard’s Conan the Barbarian (and the awesome Schwarzenegger movie, STILL my favourite fantasy film EVER), The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit and Ron Howard and George Lucas’ Willow, to the more grown-up and edgy worlds of grimdark masters George RR Martin and (my all-time favourite) Joe Abercrombie, as well as a BIG DOLLOP of Terry Pratchett’s immortal Discworld series. IMPORTANT: This story contains material which some readers may consider to be mature, such as battle violence, some strong language and occasional mild sexual scenes. If this is not your kind of thing, this story is not for you. I am also serializing this story on Tumblr, Wattpad, Quotev and Sweek.
