《Stuck in a zombie world with an OP shop》Chapter 13

In the morning, Ryan climbs down to the bottom of the manhole to take care of his business. Unbuttoning his pants and pulling everything down is easy enough, and a roll of toilet paper only costs 10 credits. However, when Ryan hears a person shouting when he'd mid-way through a push, things become difficult.
'Oh shit,' Ryan thinks and hastily finishes his business. The sewer is bound to be filled with shards of glass and dirty toilet paper at the rate Ryan has been dropping them, but he doesn't regard it as important. Whatever monster killed his friend on the first day, Ryan sees no reason to impose on its territory.
"Is anyone down there?" A voice says from the top of the manhole, and Ryan looks up like a deer in headlights. The unknown man and Ryan's eyes meet.
"Just a moment and I'll be up," Ryan says, half way though pulling squares from the roll of toilet paper.
"Excuse me..." The man at the top says and backs away.
Ryan finishes his business and climbs to the top of the ladder, leaving his spear in the plastic bag at the bottom. Once at the top, Ryan sees the feet of several people walking around the van and his car. Deciding against pulling the gun and killing the people, Ryan crawls out from under the van.
The four people who were circling the van now stand and look at Ryan. Of the four, two of them have pistols and two of them have baseball bats with nails stuck through them. All of them are wearing hearing protection, but they have the earmuffs around their necks.
"We come from a large settlement just a few blocks away. If you're willing, we'd be glad to have you as a member," The closest man with a baseball bat says to Ryan.

"What do you mean 'settlement'?" Ryan asks. Though he asks, he is almost entirely sure he doesn't want to join their settlement. The only thing which could change his mind is if his parents were with them.
"We have secured a highrise on 4th street. All zombies on the inside have been cleared, and we have food stored to last of for several weeks," The man replies.
"I'm sorry, but I'm actually waiting for my parents. Eric and Cathy Stone, have you heard anything about them?" Ryan asks.
"No, have any of you?" The man asks his teammates.
"No," Is the resounding response.
"It doesn't sound it like," The man says to Ryan.
"Then, I'll have to stay here," Ryan says and goes back under the van. If a fight were to break out, he'd want to be inside the manhole where he could shoot the four men without fear of them having too high of a chance of hitting him.
"That's unfortunate but fair," The man says and crouches so he can still talk to Ryan. "We'll be sending men every few days to keep the streets clean. If you want to join us, just ask one of them,"
The four men walk away from Ryan, further in the direction of the car dealership. Ryan sighs and descends to the bottom of the manhole, resuming his collecting of credits.

Fated To Fall: A Transmigrator LitRPG Tale
She had welcomed Death with open arms, and was more than happy to spend her afterlife floating in the void. Until a Goddess decides she has better plans for her and offers her a choice any fantasy loving geek would die for. However after accepting the offer she learned the hard way that one should always read the fine print, especially when dealing with a God. Now she's been dropped into the world that inspired her favorite game. Except the body she now inhabits is that of the final boss of the game, only 8 years before she comes into her cataclysmic powers. She now has to avoid the machinations of a family that at best wants nothing to do with her and at worst wants her dead. Avoid any and all Heroes with a proclivity for decapitation, complete a Goddess's vague Quest to save the fate of the world, tame every cute magical beast she can get her hands on. Oh and probably find a way to smack said Goddess who thought putting her in the body of the character with the worst Tragic Backstory™ was a good idea. Liliana Rosengarde might be Fated to Fall but this little bird just found her wings and won't be hitting the ground anytime soon.
