Lilabelle takes a step backwards at the sudden feeling of danger filling her dark and torn soul. All of the tentacles that are spread throughout the whole building retract themselves into Lilabelle's body and ready themselves to attack. Ryan can feel his hand move towards his sword with insane speed and he can feel his whole body tense up. The feelings of all the original Abyss Watcher's flow throughout Ryan's soul and he can feel a surge of power physically, putting him beyond a power level most mortals can achieve.
With his sword drawn, Ryan goes to run the short distance between him and Lilabelle to grab her by the throat but his feet won't move. Ryan looks down to see ice covering his feet and preventing him from killing the Seed of the Abyss. No matter how hard he tries to pull free he is unable too. He slowly turns his head to the side and is able to see Externia casting the spell preventing Ryan's movement.
Ryan's golden eyes shine under his pointy helmet as the feeling of electricity surges through his body. Tio appears from behind Externia and puts her hand forwards. Purple chains erupt from the ground and wrap themselves around Ryan.
A feeling of pain pierces Ryan's body as his Focus is forcibly taken out of his body. Externia has a face full of worry as Ryan begins to scream loudly at the worst pain he has ever felt in his life. She knows how strong Ryan can get and fears of what he is capable of but since he seems to be restrained she relaxes a little.
Even though he is going through severe pain Ryan is not taking any damage at all from the chains Lilabelle is staring at Ryan with a sad expression as he reaches for her but the chains restraining him prevent Ryan from doing so.

Knowing that the only way out of here is by getting rid of the chains binding him, Ryan strains as hard as possible and a creaking sound fills the air. Tio strains to keep the chains on Ryan to maybe take enough of his power out of him to stop him.
Wind begins to whip through the air due to the raw power Ryan is releasing to be free of his chains. Finally, a loud shatter is heard and Tio falls backwards onto on the ground. Tio lets out a scream full of worry but it is not for Lilabelle or Externia but for Ryan.
With the chains being broken, the curse activates and a bright purple light emits from within Ryan. Blood erupts from Ryan as he can feel his insides explode and his heart stop.
A curse has been inflicted onto you and your insides have exploded. I bet that hurts! 3743 points of damage has been done to your health. Tears of Denail saved your ass!
Ryan's eyes go lifeless as he lays still, unable to move. Tio runs over to Ryan's body and goes to touch him but pulls her hand back before doing so. Tears flow from Tio's eyes as she puts her hand over her mouth in distress. Tio has never meet anyone who could break the Chains of Dios so she didn't expect this to happen.
"I am sorry! We needed to protect Lilabelle and you didn't get a chance to hear us out. *wheezing* It's all my fault! I should have told you." Tio is screaming hysterically over the thought to be dead corpse of Ryan. Lilabelle walks over Ryan and gives him a slight kick to the head. Ryan doesn't respond to this and Lilabelle lets out a sigh.
"Man, the little Abyss inside of you is alive at least, lest it be barely." Lilabelle says dejectedly. Externia walks over to Ryan and can feel her heart sink to the bottom of her chest. If the other Gods find out the Ryan is dead, then Externia would be next, mostly likely wiped from existence when they find out she had a hand in it

. Ryan is barely able to function as he only has 1 HP left. He is able to activate a miracle though and a bright yellow circle appear at everyone's feet and Ryan is lying in the middle of it. Sunlight begins to wrap itself around Ryan's body as he casts Soothing Sunlight and Ryan can feel his internal organs mold back together. The pain Ryan has felt is incomprehensible and Ryan would wish it onto a very select few.
As Ryan regains all of his health, he is mentally torn and can feel himself passing out from the traumatizing experience he just went through. His lifeless eyes look up at Tio, who has a face full of amazement and shock. Ryan only lets out a few words before he slips into darkness.
"You did... What you needed to..."

Broken Interface
A Post-Apocalyptic LITrpg / progression fantasy. Synopsis Early one morning, the world ended. The devastating Alpha Event rewrote the very laws of reality itself, transforming peaceful cities and communities into sprawling hellscapes filled with flesh-eating zombies - and worse! For Daniel, a Zombie Apocalypse couldn’t have happened at a worse time. If he’d been back at the farm, he might have stood a better chance than most. Instead, Daniel woke up in a distant hotel room armed with nothing but a hangover. To add insult to injury, as he and other survivors shelter for safety in their hotel, Daniel discovers another misfortune. To help guide them through the horrors of this new reality, each suvivor is supposed to have been grafted with an interface - a guide to help them level up, develop their skills, and better understand the world around them. Daniel’s is broken. Nevertheless, this new reality has gifted Daniel with other strange, new powers - powers which could enable him to unite what other survivors they can find into a force capable of surviving in this cruel, new world. Kernal is the first book in the Broken Interface series, set in Alex Kozlowski’s Alpha Physics Universe - described by readers as “a breath of fresh air” in the LitRPG genre, with stories that are “human, thought out, and realistic.” Style. Single third person POV, LITRPG, with gore, adult themes but no explicit sexual content. Warning. There will be a cute pet.

Mistbound: Eternity
The world is said to be formed out of duality of man. Good and evil, right and wrong, light and dark. And with duality, comes conflict. A meaningless clash of ideals results in pointless wars. Azlan is wanderer who doesn't falls in either category. Tired and done with the redundant world, he lives his secluded life, hunting monstrosites for coin in the crumbling province of Mountaliya, situated in the land of Forsa. The premise follows Azlan as he explores the province, experiencing the culture and its people as they try to stand unshaken amidst a cold and unforgiving world. The story is a dark fantasy that is a balance of action and world building but most importantly, it follows the people going about their daily lives. The world has entered a state of stasis, there are no high stakes, no glory to be had, only a decaying realm of ice remains. Everyone awaits for Heaven's descent, an event prophesied to bring the world out of stasis, by granting the champion of the event a wish. Heaven Shall Descend. I wanted to write a high fantasy story that doesn't focuses too much on Magic and Swordfights, but rather interactions between people, a bit of politics and ideals. This is my first attempt at writing something this huge, please let me know if you see mistakes or any problems in general, so I can learn from them. (The cover picture is from the year 1818, "Wanderer Above the Mist" by Caspar David Friedrich). I also write Short stories set in the same shared universe. You can read them here: Dark Fantasy Short Stories.

Murphy's Law
****Story has been dropped for being too dark**** "Anything that can go wrong, will." But what if you know what goes wrong in advance? On Earth, monsters come in human form. Some are ostracized or locked up, but others walk amongst us. They’re more common than one would think and they grow in number the higher in the hierarchy you go. With 1 in 100 people preying on the other 99, eventually, a world trying to summon a hero might end up with a monster that doesn't feel like playing along. _____________________________ The story is my take on some of my favorite genre's and tropes, some of which I have no I idea if they'll work well together. English is not my main language so if you notice any typos or grammar mistakes please tell me so I can correct them. Criticism and critique are more than welcome:) A chapter every Tuesday.*I do not own the cover image, it's taken from google.

A War Beyond Kings
Author: I made som mistakes early in the story that I will have to correct, but it will take some time. I have not abandoned this story, but I will be working on my computer and will not be active on royal road. "The elves start to leave their secure forest of Silvanwood for the first time in over two thousand years. Wizards are murdered in their own homes one by one to the dismay of the Jeidan Order of mages. The ancient ruins in Agnellia seem to have awoken after thousands of years of abandon. The flames of war are brewing, and the continent of Maëgor is about to witness a war like never seen before." Author’s note: This is a serious story, loosely inspired from many great works, which you will maybe be able to identify on your own. It is entirely original though. I’ll be working on this for hours every day, but that doesn’t necessarily means that there’ll be daily chapters. I don't own the rights to the cover image, and will immediatly take it down if the author requires so. Every chapter will be at least 2000 words. And congratulations to anyone who guesses on which language the chapter titles are written in.

Two Existentialists | S.R.
"How many existentialists does it take to screw a lightbulb?" Spencer asked with a small laugh. Once again the room was silent. You faintly heard Agent Rossi mutter, "Don't.""2. One to change the light bulb and one to observe how it symbolizes an incandescent beacon of subjectivity in a netherworld of cosmic nothingness," he said. The room was silent still, until you laughed. His eyes looked up at yours in confusion. "Wouldn't they sit in the dark and hope that the bulb decided to light again? An existentialist would never change the bulb. He would allow the darkness to exist," you questioned.-#1 #spencerreid#1 #mgg#1 emilyprentiss
