Zost closed his eyes, disappointed in himself, and looked down at his feet.

“Go back to your room and reflect on yourself.” Anna said.

Zost walked to his room tremblingly. I’m not that bad, right?

“Master, you are too harsh on him.” Meiji wanted to find an excuse for Zost.

“You are protecting him? Good. go teach him on my behalf so he is not gonna die next time”

Anna waved her hand to send Meiji out.

Anna looked vacantly at the Maiden statue.

She contemplated herself, Zost must have another mind space overlap with the current space or else he can’t survive that possessing from that creature.

Why this time he almost got killed but his other mind did not show up?

I should speed up his growth rate. This Tep town is about to be swamped with pesky flies.

Meiji forcefully dragged Zost to the magic training field.

Meiji began lecturing on how to properly use the first three runes.

The runes that converted from qi were called floating runes.

Qi can be obtained through martial arts breathing techniques.

Both Meiji and Collin have practiced martial arts since young.

The fundamental was martial art. In Zost's case, he was born with natural qi.

The floating runes can be used individually. Such as water bullets.

If you combine two runes, you will get higher tier magic.

The next state you need to combine three runes. We call it final states.

Meiji guided Zost to nourish his body by using runes.

The first runes drew mana from the world to the muscles and tendons.

The second rune drew mana to the bone. The last rune drew it into the intestines.

Meiji combined water rune and fire rune to create a stream, it kept expanding to cover a wide area then she threw the last rune with freezing property. The stream turned into a blizzard.

After demonstrating the spell, Meiji and Zost walk back to the Zost’s room.

“You have a master’s spell book. You just need to read it today and select what you find helpful.”

“Oh by the way, your water coating spell is so advanced it needs dedicated fine control but it is not useful tho, don't use it. the water barrier just straight up better defense”

Zost bent his back 90 degrees to Meiji. Today he learned so much. He really appreciated it. Unlike a certain Master who didn’t teach him anything.

“Don't act like that, we apprentices need to stay together, together strong!!”

Meiji flexed her bicep before flew away from Zost's room.

“I really need to pay back this huge favor”

In the master’s book, there were many interesting spells.

Even though the useful one was far too few.

The one rune spell ,conjured water, water bullets, water purifying, humidity detection, etc.

Can I just conjure water to block an attack instead of using a water barrier?

Let me see, The two rune spells... it's countless.. The book actually states that.

The medium runes have 5 primary types: water, fire, wind, earth, and metal.

There are rare types: space, light, darkness, life, decay, time… etc.

Any medium runes and property runes could be combined to get actually countless spells.

Even if I knew them all, I'd rather master just the defensive, offensive, and detection spells.

I wish I had a sparring partner!!
