Dalmarian homelands are the heavily forested swamplands of the northwest. Because of their easily drying skin, and inability to be too far from water for extended periods of time because of it, Dalmarians tend to stick to their piece of Yvitril. Rarely will you see a Dalmarian very far from their homeland, but it does happen on occasion. Those willing to adventure our often carry specialized backpacks made from the material of a tree fungus native to their region. It is designed to be able to carry a large amount of water, with the weight being evenly displaced upon their back due to the elasticity of the material they use to make the pack. This backpack alone would give a Dalmarian enough water to keep their skin from drying out for a week or so, which provides plenty of time to find another source of water and refill it. The only time a Dalmarian would have to worry is if they were planning on traversing the Bygone, in which case they would need a caravan. There are Dalmarian trade caravans as well, using larger versions of the single-person water packs that are made to fit a medium-sized wheeled cart. This cart is pulled by Haulmogs.

Haulmog
A Haulmog is a large, lumbering beast that is the primary mode of land transportation used by Dalmarian trade caravans. They’re stocky, and rather slow compared to the human counterpart, horses. They make up for their speed with their strength and loyalty to their masters, however. They are herbivores, but only feed on a few plants that are native solely to Ilgora. Because of this, along with their cart of water, Dalmarians also have to prepare food for their Haulmogs before travel. Haulmogs are able to store their meals for long periods of time, so they do not need to constantly eat. They can go up to a week without even feeling hungry. Haulmogs are very much like big toads that don’t hop, and have smaller heads. Their eyes are on the side of their head, with spiked ridges as their brow. Their wide, beaked mouth is lined with dull teeth meant for grating the plants they live off of. Their skin is also dry and bumpy like a toad’s, and they too need some moisture to survive. However, they are also able to store water for significant periods of time under their skin, which allows them to go without a water source for up to a month. But, once their water runs out they need to “recharge” in a source of water for multiple days before they are able to continue, as living off of the reserved water drains their energy. Dalmarian kids are given a Haulmog at a young age to raise for 20 years, and it is assumed that at the end of the 20 years that the Dalmarian has a sense of responsibility for themself and others, as well as their environment. The Haulmogs are released after those 20 years, and thrive in the wilds of Ilgora.

The Morrigan
Reality started crumbling the day I died and reincarnated. The enigmatic God offered some answers, but at the same time created more questions. Given a goal both absurd and ambiguous, I choose to start my new life. It sounded good and all, but first, I would have to avoid being eaten by my new family, or killed by the inhabitants of this new world. This is the story of how I tried to stay human when the world pushed me to become something else. A Swarm. Writing for fun and as a way to improve my English. Overpowered protagonist haters begone. The cover isn’t from my authorship, I just found it on the internet.
8 208Settlement of Safehaven - A Hearthtree Series
"Welcome to the ECS Asgard, your ride through the stars to your new home-" Or so goes the sales spiel of this one of four and first-produced colonization ship, a spiel meant to placate the portions of humanity who would be selected for such a journey through the stars. It was meant to be a simple thing; people would sleep in hibernation or stasis, to experience their lives within the virtual reality world which kept their minds occupied. The virtual world was meant to simulate a fantasy world of Viking or Roman lore. But not all with this virtual world was fine; nor were the humans who were selected for its maiden and only voyage. One colonist lost everything dear to him, but through his pain and torment, he gained the attention of the colony ship's AI.

The Shadow looked at what they did, and saw and loved, and feared. And the Shadow shivered, and the world shivered with them. And then they said:‘I will be one with what I made, but promise me, father, promise to look after this world. Let no evil touch it.’And the father gave his word to the child he loved the most.He failed. Before the dawn of time, a god gave themselves to protect this world. Their name and form are lost to history. Only the Regent remembers but the last person the Regent talked to, was the very First Vandrainor – a being more legend than legit: She rallied the forces of the continent to fight against the darkness that threatened to take over the world for the Unknown.Wonders were lost in this war. The giants are gone now, the Green Mountains fell in the wrath of the gods –But the twospirits, the Vandrainor of Old, they are still there. And as humanity’s strength weakens, they are called to the Dead Mountains, driven by mystery, prophecy even.To face a long lost foe – and answer the last question: How important are warriors – if there is no war? This is my first fiction and I'm kind of learning my way around here.Currently, I upload a new chapter every Wednesday (Around 16pm CEST).When I split a chapter into parts, there are usually more uploads a week but the new chapter will always start on the next Wednesday. (I am still playing around with the uploading rhythm, and whether to break up chapters in the first place).
