《Death's Heir》Chapter 52 : WarBeast

“What the fuck!”
Kale was literally a giant pig.
A giant pink pig.
At this point, there shouldn’t be anything that should surprise him but it’s a giant pig…..
Scanning Kale’s body, if he stood upright he would be at least seven feet tall completely pink, he had five fingers like a human but when it got down to the last joint to his fingernails it looked as hard as pig hoofs.
If you got rid of the pig nose, ears, giant tusks and covered his body he could pass for human.
“Where am I?...”
The room he was in seemed like prison cell four walls no windows and one door.
Taking the set of keys from Kale’s body while still in his denial phase he went over to the door and opened it.
‘How do I leave this place now…’
Not wasting a moment as soon as he opened the door he started running down the pathway.
Up the first set of stairs he saw but was blocked by a locked door, fortunately, Kale’s keys could open it.
What he saw inside stunned him.
Rows upon Rows of cages hundreds of them and inside of every one of them were humanoid animals like Kale.
‘What….’
Azreal was rooted in place, at first when he saw Kale he could just add it up as a one-off occurrence but now there were hundreds of them staring at it, they looked just as surprised to see him as he was to see them.
“Wait so rabbit man…”
He couldn’t help speaking out of reflex, the instant he realized he spoke aloud he covered his mouth but It was too late.
“Hey, Kale is that you? Didn’t expect you to come back so soo-”
While speaking the ‘person’ walked forward when he saw Azreal he stared at him completely surprised.

The ‘person’ who walked out from a corner up ahead looked like a cheetah, checkered skin, hind legs, tail, claws and all.
The room became completely awkward as the cheetah stared at him, he started back and the caged ‘animals’ stared at them both.
Finally, the cheetah broke the silence by sighing and shrugging.
“And the pig was my only friend in here…”
Pu!
The cheetah moved at breakneck speed leaving only a cloud of dust behind.
Azreal couldn’t react because of how fast the cheetah moved it wasn’t until the cheetah's paws with its protruding claws were about a seven feet away from him that everything seemed to be moving in slow motion.
It didn’t take him long to realize that this was one of the skills he comprehended while being immobile for a year [ ‘Time’ Manipulation ].
If there’s a visible threat to his life that was beyond his capabilities it would automatically activate or he could just activate it of his own free will.
But what confused Azreal was why it would activate on its owns he wasn’t sure how much stronger he became since didn’t know how to measure his strength but he knew he’d gotten a lot stronger —he could feel it— So how was it possible for this cheetah to cause his body to instinctively feel endangered.
He understood that it had incredible speed but he knew clearly that the only reason it got the drop on him was because he was still in shock, and he would have acted before any real harm came to him besides it was so far away from him.
Putting it aside, for now, Azreal walked over to the cheetah took out his sword and decapitated it.
Once the threat was taken care of ‘time’ returned to normal but his breath became ten times heavier like he just ran several miles.

No matter how hard he tried to sense Divine Energy to replenish his body he couldn’t sense anything.
‘What the hell is this?…..’
Previously when he regained control over his body he never tried to sense any energy because he didn’t need to absorb any but now that the spell activated on its own it sucked his divine energy like it was nothing leaving him feeling completely drained, more than half the divine energy in his body was drained.
Originally when he used the [ Purple Inferno ] the amount of energy it drained wasn’t anything to worry about since once it attached to something it would suck its energy and not his, so he would’ve never expected so much energy to be used.
But then again how could it be cheap to manipulate the spatial laws of the realm of gods with him only being in the early stages of Godhood it was a blessing that he was able to do for less than two seconds
It was incorrect to say that there was no divine energy in the air but the amount that was there was so limited that it was negligible, almost nonexistent.
The humanoids in the cage stared at the cheetah corpse and the strange looking thing breathing heavily beside him, every single one of them was stunned.
All the saw was that strange looking creature standing there like it was frozen then all of sudden it turned into a beam of light and the next thing they saw was a headless cheetah.
Every single one of them was stunned silly.
How else were they supposed to react, from their point of view everything seemed like it was over before it even began and then in less than a second the cheetah was headless.
‘...’
Azreal didn’t have any time to pay attention to their gaze he had his hands on his knees breathing heavily but his breathing eventually calmed down, it wasn’t as steady as it was before but it was calmer than a moment ago.
“Could I be in some close off area that prevents Divine Energy from entering?”
“Divine Energy?.....Kid where are you from?”
Azreal didn’t keep his thoughts to himself but he was still surprised, because he thought he had said it in his mind but the surprise disappeared just as quickly as it came when he realized that he had spoken aloud just now.
Holding onto the bars of its cage a roughly eight foot tall muscular white bear in pants stared at him, its blood red eyes stared at him without blinking.
Suppressing the shock he was still feeling from when he realized Kale was a literal pig he walked over to the cage but not too close.
“Are you the one that spoke just now and do you know why there isn’t any divine energy in the place or better yet where this place is?”
The bear didn’t speak up right away only continued looking at him.
“My name is Asbiom before I answer your question shouldn’t you answer mine?”
His voice was like a deep rumbling although it wasn’t majestic it still sounded imposing
“Your question?..... oh I guess you could say
I’m from the chaos realm and yes divine energy”
Asbiom didn’t speak just continued to look at Azreal before revealing his shard like teeth in the form of a smile.
