《The First Rabbit Dungeon》Chapter 12 - Dungeon Sense

POV Change - Wade
What is happening right now?! Jack just made a fire ball out of thin air!
Sure, he used up a lot of his mana to do so based on how low his mana is in the core. But man, he just made a fire ball appear!
The fight wasn't the best as there was only a few exchanges between the two rabbits. This though, changes everything. Why fight with claws and horns if you can just throw a fire ball instead? Also I can't help but wonder if Steve will be able to do this too.
Looking at Jack's mana again, I see that it is red in colour. Which means that he is a horned fire rabbit then. He is able to make/control fire so my guess was correct in thinking that the colour of the mana means what elements my rabbits have.
Now, what will Jack do with the fire ball? He only has a small amount of mana left, and I will guess that keeping the fire ball from not disappearing takes at least a small amount of mana.
Jack starts to move the fire ball and then throws it at Steve. Then boom! The fire ball explodes a small amount when it hit Steve on his side.
This is the first time that Steve has dealt with something like this, so he was just as surprised as me and Wade. Too bad for him that his surprised state lasted too long causing him to not dodge the small fire ball.
I am glad that Steve's fur isn't really long so the fire won't spread too much on Steve's body. Steve in response to getting thrown backwards from getting hit start to roll over to get back up, getting rid of the small amount of fire still left on the short fur.
Jack after throwing the fire ball didn't even go attack Steve after he fell down. All he did was jump back up onto the dirt hill to refill his mana. Steve on the other hand started to refill his mana while also sending a lot of mana towards his burnt skin.
Know what? I have lots of mana right now, so let's send a mana cloud at Steve so he can get healed up and turn him into a horned rabbit. If his blue coloured mana means anything, he will be a horned water rabbit once he starts to use magic outside of his body like Jack.
So I start to focus on wanting to send out a mana cloud at Steve. Just in case I send too much I also think about only sending enough to make him turn into a horned rabbit. Don't want to send too much and waste most of it.
Once a few minutes goes by, I feel the drain happening and a part of my mana light drains. Right now there is about sixty percent of my mana light left. Remembering how much mana it took to make the third rabbit, I should be able to make three more rabbits with what I have left.
After about ten minutes Steve is finally healed up and is starting to use the mana cloud to evolve into a horned rabbit. Too bad that a horned rabbit isn't what he ended up turning into.
Steve's fur started to change colours first, it changed into the same grey as Jack's fur. No horn ended up popping up from his head though.
Last change that is the same with Jack's evolution is the removing of most fat and replacing with muscles.

These muscles seem a little bit bigger though, so that is different. Then the biggest change started to happen. His legs and arms started to change shape.
Well the changing of the legs and arms aren't too big of a change with them pretty much only getting longer. This kind of change though is a huge bonus for a rabbit that relies on speed to run away from predators, or I guess in this case for them to do hit and run tactics. They are monsters still so I really do hope that they don't just run away from stuff.
Longer legs mean longer strides can be made, and longer strides while running mean faster speeds/
So looking at him now, he can't be called a horned rabbit without a horn to call his own. With the longer legs and him still looking like a rabbit, I guess there is only one thing that I can call him.
And that is a Hare!
A couple hours later...
"Hello again Rabbit Dungeon. Any monsters made after this will no longer be considered a magical monster automatically. They will be regular monsters. If you want to make your monsters magical monsters from now on, it will cost you a little bit more mana for each monster. All you have to do is want them to be a magical monster when you make them." Is what she said an hour or two ago.
Who is 'she'? Well 'she' is the girl voice that introduced me to this world so long ago.
Now what happened before she talked to me again? After Steve turned into a hare, I watched him for a little bit before deciding to make another rabbit. Everything went as usual until the fourth rabbit was made.
After the fourth rabbit was made and started to look around its new home, she started talking to me. And for the last hour or so since she talked to me I have been thinking about her words and what they could mean.
It wouldn't be so bad if she didn't add a few more words after her initial speech about the magical monsters. "See you soon."
When is she going to talk to me again? If I need to do something for her to talk to me, what do I need to do? So many questions that aren't able to get answered with my small amount of knowledge.
What is even worse is that Wade, the one who is supposed to be the smart one out of the two of us, doesn't know anything and can't answer any questions that I can't guess myself. The only upside is I at least know that I will hear her voice again.
It is still annoying either way though.
I am not in a super bad mood though, and I am talking to him again. Once Steve turned into a hare, my favourite monster got a lot stronger and is now the alpha of the first room. Which in turn made it so I got out of my bad mood.
It will take more than a few unanswered questions to make me get in another bad mood. I have so many of them already that I am kind of numb to the pain of the unknown at this point.
So after I made the fourth rabbit, Jack was still refilling his mana and Steve was just getting used to his new body by jumping around all wily-nily. Steve thinking that he is super strong now, decided to beat down the fourth rabbit to show that he is the alpha.

Now what has happened is we now have two groups of rabbits that each have their own alpha. Steve and the fourth rabbit that he just made his minion. And we have Jack and the third rabbit. The third rabbit was made when Jack was the only alpha so he followed Jack.
During the time that the fourth rabbit was getting shown who is boss, Jack finished refilling his mana and got into his peak condition. Then he and Steve fought until it was a draw.
Neither of them wanted to become the beta of the group, but in the end Steve ended up winning.
For some reason Steve is a lot better at the self buffing magic then Jack is in his hare form, so they were on par with Jack’s larger amount of mana. Jack would have been fine if he didn’t make magical controllable fire appear which drained a lot of his mana.
Steve knowing what the fire ball is and what it could do, he dodged it. Which was the thing that won Steve the fight for the new alpha position. What happened after that was different than usual, which is why I am looking over it in my mind even after the fact.
My guess is that Steve feels that he isn’t that far away in power compared to Jack, so he felt threatened. This made it so Steve didn’t just go back to the dirt hill to rest and regain his lost mana after the small fight with Jack.
Instead he beat Jack up until Jack ended up leaving to the second room.
And with this act, the third rabbit went with Jack to the second room for some reason. Now, in turn my rabbit minions were split in half between the two rooms.
Well I won’t be able to get any more answers without doing more experiments. So I guess it is time to see what the difference between a magical rabbit and a non-magical rabbit is.
Making a fifth rabbit that doesn't have anything that stands out to tell him apart from the others, I don't notice anything off about him. Looking at him with my dungeon sense I am able to tell that he is different from the others in a certain way, but I am not really sure in what way.
I just don't understand it what my dungeon sense is telling me right now.
Since I have enough mana, I end up also making another rabbit. This time I even thought about wanting to make him inside the second room, which made it so each room now has three rabbits to call their own.
Not counting the third room that no rabbit calls home.
After a little bit of waiting to see if I can figure out what the difference is, I end up giving up and hope to notice the difference later on.
With the amount of mana that I have left, I end up only being able to do one more dirt removal. And with me wanting to keep things even, I don't want to have a random hole in the wall.
So what I do is drain my mana light and release it in my dungeon. There isn't enough to make a mana cloud appear, but I can tell their is a slight difference in the density. Not much difference was made because of the mana I just gave up, making me not feel as bad about wasting the mana.
Well, I guess it is time to refill my mana light and reach past the half way mark until the mana light is at full capacity of the current size of my dungeon crystal!
I think about wanting to spin my mana light faster to refill it as soon as possible. Wade helps me out on this and it spins even faster.
Watching it reach its peak brightness, I then notice the speedy growing period start like usual. It continues like always, and grows to be a little bit bigger than the half way mark.
Feeling really good about myself for reaching a small personal goal that I set myself, I start to get even happier. Then I hear Wade start to talk to me in a weird voice. "Hey, you should pay attention to the dungeon sense right now. You aren't going to believe it."
If I had a face right now it would be really confused right now. I don't reply back to him and I just start to pay attention to my dungeon sense. Normally I don't pay much attention to it since I like to see what is happening better then feel what is happening.
Though right now my dungeon sense seems to be a lot more active and hard to not notice in its current state. Finally tapping into it, I start to feel a clear difference in what I normally feel with my dungeon sense.
What I normally see is just the space that I cleared out for the three rooms and a tiny bit out from the cleared rooms. It used to be just half a meter out from the clear areas, but now it a whole lot wider.
The area that my dungeon sense is expanding quite rapidly. And the area that used to be a odd shape due to my rooms being in a L shape pattern, I quickly notice that below me, my dungeon sense doesn't go past ten meters. This leaves it so my dungeon sense has a flat bottom to it.
To the sides of me, it goes to about twenty five meters out with my dungeon crystal being the center point of the big circle around me.
And last but not least I have saved the best for last! What is this last point you might ask Wade? "I wouldn't ask that question, I already know the answer." He says while I ignore him.
If he didn't have such a happy tone with that mean statement I would get angry at him. I am much to happy right now to get angry at such a silly thing such as that.
"It is up! What other way is there to go?!" Yelling at him since I am so excited right now. I just can't help but squeal like a little girl as I watch my dungeon sense expand higher and higher above me.
So what I see above my dungeon crystal is of course the cleared out space for my first room, but above that is about two meters of more dirt. After that though is where we start to get to the good stuff.
Wait, never mind that last part. I mean great stuff!
Cause right now I am seeing a grassy field in what seems to be in the middle of a forest. Inside the grassy clearing is a lone tree and three things that make me super excited.
Too bad those same three things are also making me super scared at the same time!
