6th Light beneath the twelfth Moon
3761 Cycles beyond the Dark
722 Years after the Repentance
Entry: 1/057
Dear self,
Anora arrived early in the morning today, which was a surprise for everyone. She hadn’t sent a message beforehand and intended to arrive yesterday but was delayed somehow. Most travellers who come to the store arrive in the evening and then spend the night before seeking us out. Morning is not the usual time for new arrivals in Tintinnabulis.
She was quite evasive about her reasonings, but those wide sheer blue eyes of hers made even Mother give up scolding her for traveling without any escort. We would have heard news of her coming ahead of time if she hadn’t avoided traveling with a group like she was supposed to. She might be precocious but that’s no reason to give a child of six cycles zero supervision. There are protected convoys she should have been traveling in.
I woke later than I had planned in the morning. The dream had been more vague than it had been since Rahph began appearing in them, and the memories of last night’s venture into illusory space had faded rapidly. I was a little later than planned when working on the glamoured bracelet for the Dauthulscha woman, so she came into the shop before I was finished.
She became very aggressive then, threatening me. She even drew a short sword from her waist. I myself was shouting back at her when the woman started sneezing heavily and Anora came into the room hearing the noise. She might be the younger sibling, but she’s a lot better than me at keeping a cool head and staying composed. What had been turning into a shouting match almost instantly fell into more normal conversation as Anora listened to the woman’s complaints and sent me to fetch a tea for her throat. She ended up staying for lunch while I finished up her bracelet.

She wanted a more pragmatic illusion effect so I changed the cosntructs slightly to adjust for situations where she might want less or more attention. An adventurer like her can always find a use for evading detection. I also added an construct that had a similar effect that could make her face more or less visible and distinct without seeming unnatural s she could avoid recognition if necessary.
The only other customer today was a man having issues with a warmth enchantment that removed frost and unfroze materials. He didn’t need any help other than better instruction on how to use the item. There was nothing wrong with it.
Past noon Mother grabbed me to have me inspect what she had been working on for the last few days. She wanted me to figure out as much as I could about the warding construct she had created to improve protection around the house. It was aimed at restricting unattuned subtle and illusory magic and had a sophisticated detection system superior to our current warding scheme. She had me find and pint out four flaws in the spell and told me afterwards that there were two more I hadn’t spotted. The next while was spent with me trying and failing to find those flaws in frustration.
I harvested the Frost Bubbleshil today and experimented with brewing it. It didn’t become toxic or inedible fortunately, so I cold still create potions that were safe for consumption using it. The effect appears to have changed from just giving you hiccups and now forms chewy bubbles that cannot be swallowed and remain intact even while trying to bite through them. The bubbles emit a cold effect with a icy purity that would go extremely well with preservation effects. The cold being contained within bubbles also helps contain the frosty temperature in warmed environments for longer as a sort of insulation. I might have an idea for what to make using it tomorrow tat could be quite entertaining.

Hope we fare well.
Regards,
Me.
