《One man army in a marvel universe》Well did it work?

"This is it. It now or never, it either going to be the first step up toward greatness, or Il be stepping down closer to hell." I stood naked in my private lab, alone in the middle of the night.
In front of me was what I had been working on for the past two years, it took me twenty two long years in getting here at this moment. The final five of those years in finally bringing this all together, the first two in order to get the business sense I desperately needed from uncle Ben's army buddy.
Hell the guy would still thankfully pop up from time too time, for a visit or in his own words. "Just making sure you haven't burn the place down yet." He would say in his gruff voice with a crooked smile.
I smiled at the memory, I had been damn lucky he had taken me under his wing, he was a god send in that period of learning. That old fox had plenty of trick under his sleeves, learning from him had taught me alot more then just good buisness sense.
He had open my eyes to people and the way they think, sure I wasn't innocent to this subject. It just that he had so much to teach me about it, what he had to teach I took to it like a fish in water. I wouldn't be suprise if what I had learn under him, was equivalent to a life time of experience.
As for Ben and May they were strongly oppose on my decision of cutting short my study, all so that I could take up a business. Once I presented my reasons, explaine the reality of the conundrum my past was placing me in. The real nail in the argument came once I pulled out the two contract from Stark and Hammer.
After actually reading the two contract it had went a long way, in them changing their mind toward my risky venture. Sure they had both stress on me following some kind of online class, even Ben buddy had insisted on this detail once he and Ben got together in hashing down the fine print. Once everyone was on board thing went as smooth as it could have gone.
I mean the online business class and the advice of an actual businessman, went a very long way in helping me improve in leaps and bound in a short intense two years. The third year I had a better handle on things, so I had started hiring my own company into building my own private laboratory.
The last two was divided in running the company and working later hours on building my equipment and tinkering on the serums. It had also given me the opportunity in offering Peter his very own private lab, it had been a very long time since I had seen such a happy smile on my little brother face, when I presented it on his thirteen birthday present.
Now I was standing infront of my very own vital ray chamber, of course it was vastly improve version from the one Howard Stark had build during the second world war. I had also manage to import a generator from the baxter building, yep the fricking fantastic four building.
Sadly at this time, the gang didn't seem to have any powers at least for now. But I had heard a rumour that they were working on going into space for a very special experiment. The detail were all very hush hush, but I figure it wouldn't be long before the world welcome the fantastic four, oh an fricking Doom as well that guy needed a serious chill pill.

The reason this generator wasn't better know or popular, well Tony learn about this beauty a few month before it came out. So in true Tony asshole form, in one afternoon while he was drunk no less, he came up with something better. Sending the plans over to be manufactured, so once Baxter came out with it, Stark had it own better generator on the market the very next day.
So this little marvel hardly got sold, hell Baxter Building had been royally screwed over by Tony. All so that he could impress and get into bed, one of the pretty scientist women working on that generator project. Or it could've been all a ploy in getting back at one of the scientist that had piste him off a few month prior. Sleeping with the man wife after that little revenge plot was probably the icing on the cake for him. It was really bad for Baxter Building, but really good for me since I got it for cheap.
The generator had enough juice in it, to light up the whole city of New York for a week before running dry. It should be plenty for the few minutes I needed it in powering the chamber. I had finally finish a serums that had alot of growth potential. Unfortunately my high but average intelligence just wasn't good enough to finish the work on my own effort.
It was a shared work with the worlds various genius, only I had either blatantly stolen or copied their various work all so I could combine them in this serums formulas. I had been surprise that the combine work of the worlds genius, had actually separately figure out a bunch of incomplete but functioning serums.
Fortunately for the world all these serums all had various defect. From unwanted mutation to horrendous emotional of mental corruption. The lists was long with all the instability in there product. Incredibly enough with all the defect option it help me, in narrowing down a better formulas for my own personal use. So in a indirect way every genius in his or her way help me refine my own formulas, of course none of them even knew or approve of this collaboration.
I stood infront of a metal coffin, that what the chamber looked like. Six glass tubes on each side held a light purple liquid, the formulas it self should give me certain ability. The first being an over all improve physical body, compare to Captain America. It would triple his power in all his ability, as for my physical strengh it would alway be a little ahead of the rest of my physical ability. This seem to be an odd residue from the Hyde formulas.
Lets not forget the multiplication mutant ability, from the tests the lab rat or rats as he was. It seem that copies were perfect all around, they didn't have any split personality at least none that had show some weird tick from the beginning.
All of them seem too function on a sort of hive mind telepathic wave. This promise me a natural block from any or at least most mind reader at least I hope, it was hard to say without more test but I just didn't have the patience in waiting for the results. Of course I did find some worrisome minor weakness, but compare to the trade off, I believe it was acceptable.
I found out that if the original body was to be destroyed, among the copies one would on random become the new main body. That in it self wasn't so bad, but the weakness was in two fold. The first being that all copies no matter which, would all reach a block at half of the original body strength. So instead of being practically triple of ability, all the copies were like a full power Captain America plus another half of his power in each.

The second weakness was if the original was detroyed and a new body was selected. The new original body would enter a period of weakness. It would take some time to recover all the way back to the original triple strength performance. As for how long it would take in recovering, that I wasn't sure nor was I sure if it came back naturally or if I had to train myself back up to full power.
Their was also a risk of loosing even more strength, if right after I was to lose my main body entering a period of weakness. I was to then get killed once more in the new weakend main body. Then the third main body would drop in performance at only double the strength of Captain America, and all the clones would also drop in strength as well. That drop was permanent, so It was best that I didn't endanger myself until I recovered with my new main body.
So even if I was to gain a sort of immortality it wasn't without any risk. Something else I would gain, was that I believe that my life span would increase, by how much on that I wasn't sure. But it wouldn't be drastic I think that I might gains an extra thirdy or fourthy years. I was far from becoming like Wolverine or Mystique in that category.
And unlike the extreme efficient healing ability of wolverine or deadpool I couldn't heal as fast, nor would I be abel to just grow back a slice off arm. The best I theorize was my body could do was close off the wound and heal over it. Not to say it was bad, for one I'm sure that I would never be suffering from either deases or poison.
Also broken bones would complete heal in matter of hours instead of weeks, this also mean that I would no doubt need alot more food in order to compensate on my increase metabolism. Hopefully if ever my body got to bang up, I would be abel in switching in one of my copies remotely. Of course I wasn't certain about this ability, it would take some testing in confirming.
I had at least some hope in having the ability of switching my main body remotely. At least it looked like from all my experimenting on the rats, who were now all dead. I didn't want to accidentally create a plague of generically engineered rats brining down the world.
I was also hoping that this evolution would grant me access to maybe chi or magic. Hell for magic I still wasn't sure if you needed talent or just hard work. I didn't remember Steve Roger doing anything special, but many of his other super soldier serums knock off, usually had some kind of edge. Just look towards Spiderman, the spider formulas was in many ways, vastly improve on the original Erskine serum.
"Alright, enough slacking." Taking one last deep breath, I turn towards a computer and enter a sequence of code. A count down started, giving me plenty of time to walk back to the chamber and climbing inside.
As I laid there waiting for the timer to run down, I took in deep calming breath. One thing I wasn't looking forward too was the pain. I had tried various methode on an unconscious rats, but so far they all died. Only the one awake manage to survive. So any drug no matter which would interfere in the process.
So joy I got to suffer literally for power, then again I figure that this was a small price to pay. Of course I had run simulation on my survival rate in this experiment, my chances were over eighty percent in successes.
As for the other twenty it was split in variouse scenario, it was mostly commonly into two, either death or terrifying mutation. Neither was a pleasant outcome, but I would take mutation over death. Hopefully it would allow me to still hammer out the bugs on what had gone horribly wrong, if it was to happen.
A faint beeping sound announce the beginning of the final count down, trying to gather my emotion and scatter thoughts I took one last deep breath before hearing a mechanical pre recorded loud voice counting from ten, nine, eight... two, one.
I would like to say that I took it all like a champ, saddly that not how it went. The first thing was the injection of the serum, the ice cold feeling trough my veins in my arms. The pain almost made me past out, it felt like my body was both freezing at a rapid pace and burning at the same time.
Once the vital rays hit during my temperature torture, every cell in my body was tearing itself apart and growing back again and again in a constance circle of pain in my whole body. But my mind was also in pain, it felt like someone was drilling multiple holes in my skull, then stab a few funnel in the holes and poured some burning acid directly in my brain. As my brain was melting it also enter a endless circle of destruction and reconstructing.
Every nerve was screaming for this to stop! Begging, promising too do or say anything just to make it stop. The worse was this was only fifteen second in, the process needed too last another two minute and fourthy five second. For me it felt like I was sent to hell just to have my soul rip to pieces and then mash the bloody chuck back together, creating an abomination in it place.
The pain invaded everywere, my consciousness tried and failed in finding a small corner in escaping this nightmare. But the pain was everywere and everything, nothing was spared. For a reason I still will never be abel to explain, a small part of me refuse to shut down falling into the oblivion of unconscious. I knew on a conscious or maybe more unconscious level that if I did, it was the end I would die.
I scream out in pain like a wounded animal during the whole process. I wish I could say that I did better but no, the truth was that this change it broke me. As I was restrain in the coffin as a broken shatter empty husk of a man, my new self still drag my old self back to the world of the living. All the way my old self kick and screaming begging not too as the pain was to much to bare.
Finally the pain stop, a new feeling of power and liberation took over all my new being. The vital ray had stop and the coffin open up, dropping my new body on the floor, after the restrain release me from my confinement. I just layed on the cold floor focusing on taking on painless breath after another.
"Oh god! Please let it have work." I stayed a long time motionless on the floor, my eyes close as I felt a bliss from the simple knowledge of being alive. Finally I manage in getting up looking around I stumbled toward a wall mirror.
"Ah crap! This isn't what I was expecting." I stared in the mirror in disbelief, a dark grey skin muscular seven feet giant. With glowing purple eyes and blue hair stared back.

Bobby likes Pabst Blue Ribbon, NASCAR races, and throwing fireballs. A through and through Georgia boy, raised down in the sticks but now working with all things mystic. He is, in other words, a magician. Not just any magician- but one bound by the most egregious of terms: business contracts. See, a long time ago, Bobby got himself involved with a dragon whose business was making magicians, and Bobby wanted magic to be his business. Both of them having common interest, Bobby agreed to sign over his services in exchange for phenomenal (draconic) magic. A pretty awesome deal, right? The contract put him at the top percentage of human magicians, on top of having the backing of a dragon patron, and a fantastic set of benefits befitting an esteemed contractor, so it'd be smooth sailing from then on, right? Not so. That kind of power isn't granted without strings attached, and Bobby's practically bound up in them. Following the esoteric laws set forth by magicians , juggling them with the mortal interests he still has to abide by, and finding himself at the beck and call of a fickle and opaque patron makes his life as a magician a rollercoaster of ups and downs. But when his patron sets him on a strange task- with stranger company, no less, even Bobby has to question what his mission really is. Delving into fantastic crimes and cracking open mysteries is just the least he can do, and he'll do it with the help of his gun, his wand, and his trusted allies both large and small. --- Cover art is of the Georgia Guidestones.
