《Bathilda the Bat》Evolution

A short distance up the side of the room, which Bathilda has managed to reach after much trial and effort. She hangs from her tail, which is wrapped around a loose root, whilst she contemplates her current situation.
'So I'm a bat? With a tail? Florence did actually call me' Bathilda the Bat' I suppose. Seeing it written out in front of me though puts it in a completely different light.'
The notifications that appeared after she killed the snake have expanded further and are still noticeable in her field of view. She looks down on the body of the deceased predator who followed her down the hole to its own death. She doesn't feel bad for the large reptile as Bathilda has always hated creepy crawlies. Now that they are bigger than she is, her fear has been multiplied.
'Also, what was the point in telling me about elves and dwarves if I don't actually get to be one of them. If they would have said, you will either be a beetle or a bat, then the choice that I would have made would have been different. Wouldn't it?'
That's a lot of woulds.
Did they really dangle a carrot, with gorgeous pointy ears, in front of my face so that I would unknowingly fall in the shit? No, she wouldn't have bothered coming to see me the second time if that was actually the case. Even though she was less helpful than the first time.
Still though, why am I a bat? I could have been anything! Why am I now the same species that I was teased over as a child? How am I supposed to help people like this?'
With more questions than options, Bathilda finally brings her attention back to the two options that are waiting for her decision.

Wingtail Bat: The adult form of the Baby Wingtail.
These bats can usually be found in colonies and hunt together. They can eat more than their weight in insects and small rodents on a daily basis. They gather in dark places and have an extremely short life span.
Poisonous Bat: Special Sub-Class
Not much bigger than the Baby Wingtail, this predator delivers a potent venom with each swift bite. Not immune to its own poison, these bats hunt and survive alone.
With not a lot to go on and little other option than to make a decision between the two choices she has been presented with, Bathilda chooses the one that applies more to her current situation of loneliness.
Evolution Confirmed: You will be rendered immobile for five minutes. Do you wish to proceed...
'Oh. That's an actual question? It still gives off a programmed feeling but it also feels nice to not be alone. Hmm, immobile? I'm probably safer up here than down there whilst I wait so if I make sure my grip is tight enough I should be fine.
Strengthening her hold on the root she is suspended from, she confirms the decision for her evolution whilst closing her eyes. Picturing the cutest bat that her imagination can produce, she is expecting undergo a serene state of mind whilst her body performs the physical change.
Sadly though, what Bathilda failed to realise was that she only possesses tail currently because of her species. With her biological change from Wingtail to Poison, the appendage that she is hanging by recedes back into her from where it starts with a thump.
Feeling as though she has just been slapped on the ass, Bathilda opens her eyes just as her new free fall begins. Unable to move all she hits the floor for a second time in one day.

She is temporarily stunned and if she were still human she would definitely think she had concussion.
The evolution completes at the same time Bathilda regains her senses from face dropping the floor.
'What happened to my tail?'
Having finally adjusted to the darkness, Bathilda can make out her once dark fur has become light and she is less plump on the lower half as she was before. Her mouth feels slightly different but she attributes that to the new poison feature and her face still ringing from her little mishap. Other than these slight changes, and the fact that she is now missing a tail, there are no other significant differences to how she was before.
'What a load of crap,' she sighs dejectly. Her mind thinks of how strong the millisnake would have to have been to of reached such a size and once more she realises just how lucky she was.
'OK. If that snake can do it, then so can I. I'll get bigger and stronger, just like it did, ' psyching herself up she is determined to help people at any cost. To do this, however, she is going to have to work out how to escape the dark maze that she is currently lost in.
A quick scan with Echolocation places Bathilda in a room very similar to the first one she had arrived in. Two tunnels lead out of the slightly larger roomon opposite sides. The only differences between this room and the last, are the dead millisnake and the third exit above her head.
With the thoughts of larger bugs being buried further down, Bathilda decides to try her new flight skills. Bats are known to be excellent fliers so with a bit of practicing, she is hoping to achieve the same feat. Not to mention that everyone wishes they could fly at some point in their life, now she gets a chance to live the dream.
With these thoughts in mind, Bathilda arches her long arms before she pushing them down with as much force as she can possibly muster. At the same time she uses her larger feet to catapult herself up into the air where she flaps her wings trying her best to maintain stability. Slowly she begins to manoeuvre herself to the left, before shakily moving back to the right. After a minute she lands back on the floor next to the snake to rest her shaky nerves.
The shakes are no longer due to the the fear she feeling before. Instead, it is now a product of adrenaline, rushing through her system as she has just literally been flying.
'I can fly!' she screams out before once more jumping into the air, heading back to where she fell from and levelling up her skill in the process.
