《*DISCONTINUED*》Chapter 4 : Moonfire Sect

In the Realm of Mortals there were only 12 huge continents, divided into 9 kingdoms each. Every kingdom had atleast 6 countries and countless cities, but the true powerhouses of the huge continents were not the kingdoms at all. The powerful and grand sects with deep inheritage were actually the true rulers of the continents. Feng Xing himself in the past also created a sect before ascending to the Realm of Gods. Eventhough the sect that he created at that time was very powerful, not everything stays the same. After countless years, the sect he made deteriorated and crumbled. Feng Xing wondered if it still existed currently.
The sect, he made was in the strongest continent, Dragon continent. The reason why it was called Dragon continent was mainly because of the reason that dragons once appeared in that very continent. Dragons were very rare creatures as they would almost never appear in the Realm of Mortals. True Dragons were only seen in the Realm of Gods. Only a few people in the Realm of Mortals actually knew this fact, most people never even knew the Realm of Gods existed. Feng Xing knew that even though Dragons were pretty common in the Realm of Gods, they were seldom seen here.
Feng Xing was currently in Nantian continent, a continent southern of Dragon continent.
One of Feng Xing's goals was to see what happened to his sect, but for now he needed to have strength first.
Moonfire Sect, Sunfire Mountain
It was currently morning, most people were already clearly awake while others were to lazy to wake up. Feng Xing in his room already decided which body cultivation manual he would take. Body cultivation manuals were actually even more rare than cultivation manuals, but were also much harder to train. Only with true determination could one persevere, the path of cultivating a body cultivation manual meant that you had to go through pain greater than your body limits to strengthen it.
"" This manual was special as it was found by Feng Xing in the Realm of Gods, he managed to remember all the contents of it because it also was the only body cultivation manuals he ever used.
"It has 9 levels. After reaching the first level, one could withstand attacks from Martial Path cultivators while having punches that could even crush 6th rank of the Tempering Path cultivators. In the past Feng Xing only reached the 8th level, by then he was already almost indestructible and could even crush Gods with his sheer pressure of his physique. This was also one of the main factors how he reached the peak in his previous life, but the only problem was that the pain you had to go through was immeasurable. Even if you could go through all that pain, there was still a lightning tribulation after every 3 levels! Each tribulation was more terrifying than the other. Feng Xing knew that he needed to have a solid foundation before passing even the first tribulation.

Feng Xing decided to train with the two manuals later after he picked his battle and movement skills.
"I now have a cultivation manual and a body cultivation manual, all I lack now are offensive battle skills and movement skills." Feng Xing knew that it would be suspicious if he trained a skill that wasn't withing the power of the sect. Body cultivation manuals were one thing, but battle skills and movement skills were easily noticed.
"I'll go check some of the skills out." Feng Xing went to the Tempering Path skill building which was located on the third mountain, where only major things were located on.
Only on the third mountain, inner sect disciples and outer sect disciples could meet eachother. Otherwise it wouldn't be possible as they were both usually divided.
The third mountain was called : Moonfire Mountain
It was also the most important mountain as sect elders, core disciples and important guests would stay there. Most of the facilities were also managed here, for example the Tempering Path skill building.
Moonfire Mountain, Tempering Path skill building
There were three floors and outer sect disciples could only enter the first floor which contained low tier Tempering Path skills. Feng Xing could only enter this floor. Only inner sect disciples and core disciples could enter the second and third floor.
"The skills here... sadly enough aren't very good" Feng Xing frowned at the sight of this. There were only 3 battle skills and 2 movement speed skills available. Most of them weren't even complete battle skills...
"Well, with my comprehension I'm sure i can complete it anyways. I'll pick these 2 skills." Feng Xing still took 2 books and took it to the counter.
There an old elder was currently sitting, He had white messy hair and it seemed to be like month's since he had moves away from this spot.
"Greetings, elder I would like to copy these two skills." Feng Xing asked politely.
"Only 1 skill you may copy." replied the elder.
"I read that outer sect disciples could copy atmost 2 skills."
"That only is valid to disciples who have stayed in the sect longer than a year." The elder seemed to be used to this scene as most new disciples would also want to copy 2 skills.
"Hmm, I see then I'll take this one" Feng Xing took the movement skill as he didn't really need any battle skill when cultivating with the .
After receiving a copy of the contents of the battle skill, Feng Xing immediately went back to train. He decided that in the night he would train with the and the .
"< Basic Movement Tempering >, contains 4 levels. Reaching the first level would mean that you could be faster than an opponent of the same realm by two times." Feng Xing had already seen this movement skill countless of times in his previous life, and wasn't that surprised at seeing it again. This was after all the most common Tempering Path movement skill.

Reaching the first level would make you twice as fast as an opponent of the same realm.
Reaching the second level would make you thrice as fast as an opponent of the same realm.
Reaching the third level would make you four times as fast as an opponent of the same realm.
Reaching the fourth level would make you five times as fast as an opponent of the same realm.
This might sound overpowered, but this only is valid against a normal opponent of the same realm without movement skills. This would mean that if people do have movement skills, the skill would be less effective and wouldn't make as fast as described. Movement and battle skills you only need to comprehend them to advance through levels.
Most people would find it very hard to comprehend a skill, especially the higher ranking ones. Usually how stronger the skill how harder it is to comprehend and understand how the skill works. This is also one of the reasons why most people get stuck at the first level of this movement skill.
For Feng Xing whose comprehension is very high this movement skill was very easy to learn. He instantly reached the 3rd level in two hours. After that he went to cultivate.
2 weeks later.
Feng Xing had been busily cultivating the two manuals, and perfected the movement skill. He was now at the peak 5th rank of the Tempering Path, this speed was very astonishing, but for Feng Xing who had the . It wasn't so surprising at all. Ofcourse others wouldn't know this fact. He still didn't reach the first level of the , but he could clearly feel his body becoming stronger.
For the past two weeks nothing much actually happened, but soon the outer sect promotion trials would begin. This was actually only meant for the outer sect disciples who had stayed longer than a year in the sect, for them to get promoted after passing the trials, but ofcourse some new outer sect disciples along with Feng Xing had other plans. They wanted to become inner sect disciples as fast as possible.
"In one month it will start, and you have to be at the 7th rank atleast. I guess I could manage that." Feng Xing wasn't really worried about it to much as he for sure would reach atleast the 7th rank in a month.
He hasn't really talked to any other outer disciple yet except for Feng Lao who he came with. Today he decided to get to know some others and went to the Moonfire Training Hall. This training hall was special, because inner sect disciples and outer sect disciples could both enter it. It was obviously located on Moonfire Mountain. The other two training halls were in the other two mountains, specifically for outer and inner sect disciples.
Moonfire Training Hall
It was actually very crowded. It seems to be something interesting was happening at the moment.
"I bet 1 silver coin on Liu Yan!" There seemed to be a battle going on and people were betting on two disciples standing on top of the podium. One of them seemed to be Liu Yan, an outer sect disciple who ranked first on the test results.
The other disciple seemed to be also of the outer sect, but this one had already been staying in it for a year.
"Well this is atleast a good opportunity to meet people." Feng Xing thought.
"Hey, what's going on here?" Feng Xing asked a fellow outer sect disciple.
"Ah, you sure missed some great matches. Master Liu Yan has already won three consecutive matches and he now got challenged by an older outer sect disciple!" The outer sect disciple seemed to be very excited about the matches. It seemed to be that he was on pretty familiar terms with Liu Yan calling him Master...
"Ah, thanks for the information. What's your name by the way?" Feng Xing casually asked while smiling.
"Song Dong" replied the outer sect disciple.
The fight was now reaching its climax, in the end the older outer sect disciple lost. The crowd went wild at that moment.
"Liu Yan! Liu Yan! Liu Yan!" Liu Yan's named echoed through the training hall. Liu Yan seemed to be content with this.
"Liu Yan, I challenge you!" suddenly a loud voice broke out. After this pure silence remained. All the disciples looked at a young disciple where the voice came from.
Song Dong looked with a shocked face, the person who just challenged Liu Yan was none other than Feng Xing!
"Hey have you gone crazy? Liu Yan is already at the 6th rank of the Tempering Path you know!" Song Dong tried to stop him, but Feng Xing didn't care.
Feng Xing flew up the podium and said : "Hey, Liu Yan it's been a while hasn't it. Do you still remember me?"
"Remembering bugs?" Liu Yan coldly said. He didn't even put Feng Xing in his eyes back then.
"..." Feng Xing now didn't have any good feelings toward Liu Yan.
"Brats, are way to cocky nowadays!" Feng Xing secretly thought.
"Ok...if you are this cocky about me being a bug then try to defeat me!" Feng Xing coldly said with a stern expression.
Liu Yan seemed to laugh inwardly and said : "Defeat you? You're challenging me. Can you defeat me!?"
After that the fight started. The crowd watched on and even started betting, but nobody bet on Feng Xing.

This project has no purpose
Summary: This is the story about the life of a "human" amidst a world that only appears to be earth at first glance. Long ago the face of this world resembled the typical tales of yore; of knights and fairies, swords and magic, however such an era has come and gone. Even the world of fantasy has progressed steadily into the modern epoch filled with the wonders of science and technology! In the ancient times a certain crisis had occured that lead to the quick decline of various magical species. Due to their low population and general incompatibility with the other races they could not crossbreed to save their numbers. Left with no other choice the major races of the world gathered together in an attempt to change the fate of this dying world. Their only hope was a special 'world-tier' magic known as 'the dusk of harmony'. The result of this magic would dissolve every race into their purest essences known as 'aspect' and instill them within the human population. The humans were the best choice as their numbers were numerous and form was similar to most races. As such, the various races of this world managed to save themselves in essence and soul only, though perhaps there was no other choice. With the various humans now carrying the weight and aspects of those who came before, life has continued onto the modern age. Yet, even amongst these hybrids 'Pures' emerge from time to time, beings who have inherited not only aspects of the ancient races, but their forms too. These Pures are often times exceptionally talented and seen as near deities. This is the story of a perculiar boy who is born with the soul of a stranger from the world known as 'Earth'. With the memories and soul of a human, he too is a rare Pure; a pure human. --- This project literally has no purpose and is being written because I felt like it. There isn't any semblance of a solid direction nor have I thought about any characters aside from the main character and a few auxiliary cast. If you would like to contribute to building this world with me then please contact me through a DM or by leaving a comment, I will be sure to credit you.
