《*DISCONTINUED*》Chapter 3 : Test Results

"The second test will be testing your sheer tenacity!
Sheer tenacity was something that most cultivators lacked which is actually very important for later realms. This is also one of the reasons why most people get stuck at the Martial Path realm. Only by having strong willpower and tenacity could one advance through ranks smoothly, they wouldn't doubt their own Dao. Only without any doubts one could ascend to the Dao Realm.
The second test once again in a similar way like the first one was not tested individually but all at once. The plaza lit up once again, and likewise the list with ranking's changed once again. This time based on sheer tenacity.
"Hehe... someone actually ranked higher than me... interesting." Feng Xing smiled while looking at his rank. The Feng clan members stared at him weirdly...
"How.. could someone like you.." Feng Yun now had eyes wide open. He just couldn't believe the rankings currently. He was 23nd on the list while Feng Xing was 2nd...
"Mere luck... hahahaha." Feng Xing started laughing out loud.
The other two Feng clan members were currently placed at 9th and 3rd. Feng Yue was placed 9th while the other boy who hasn't talked so far was placed 3rd just below Feng Xing.
Feng Xing by now was paying more attention.
"This boy..."
"Hey, whats your name?" Feng Xing boldly asked.
"...Feng...Lao.." The boy softly said.
Feng Xing looked at him weirdly. A normal boy like this with strong tenacity wouldn't be this quiet. This would mean that his real personality was different than how he acted right now.
"Ok" Feng Xing replied.
Some people deliberately left the plaza after seeing that they weren't atleast in the top 50. This tests clearly indicated how hard it was to get in the sect, so they didn't expect to get in with such a ranking. This proved to be true.
"All people who aren't in the top 10 may leave right now." Cang Yang calmly said without a care in the world.
This was merely absurd was what most people thought, to only have 10 people left after the second test. The sect clearly only wanted the best of the best so they wouldn't waste cultivation materials and consumables.
"No! I won't accept this!" A youth yelled out. This youth was Feng Yun, he was clearly not happy about it.
"How could I not pass while this trash next to me can!" Feng Yun just couldn't accept Feng Xing passing while he didn't. He clearly had a superiority complex.
"Test results dont lie. He is more qualified than you, just accept it and leave." Cang Yang calmly said while getting a little bit irritated about Feng Yun's attitude. How could he not get irritated when a Junior dares to yell at him.

"No! I spend months preparing for this! Please give me another chance!" Feng Yun was desperate now. He couldn't just let it end like this. All his hard work... all for nothing. This was something he never could accept.
"Leave!" Cang Yang coldly yelled, while True Energy bursted out. Feng Yun spit out blood and received internal injuries. One word and all his hopes were crushed.
Some felt pity for him while others were actually happy to see someone get hurt.
"This is not the end of your life yet." Feng Xing said.
"There will always be other opportunity's. Just believe in yourself and everything will work out." Feng Xing's words were actually soothing. Feng Yun in reality actually felt a bit thankful, but ofcourse he wouldn't show it.
"I don't need your advice... sooner or later I'll come back.." Feng Yun said while getting up. Feng Yun still didn't have good feelings toward Feng Xing, but this was to be expected. Feng Xing also didn't expect it to end their conflict as easily as that.
Feng Xing now only needed to pass the last test and he would be accepted into the sect. Eventhough he wasn't particularly excited, It would make his cultivation much smoother with support from the sect. This was atleast one of the things to look forward to, right now he needed strength. Only with strength could one dominate over all.
"The last test will actually be testing your total battle prowess." Cang Yang was actually looking forward to this test the most. Only with this could he actually see how one's reflexes and battle sense were.
"Ahahaha finally my fort has appeared" A burky youth said.
"Finally some action!" Feng Xing also inwardly thought. He was already expecting something like this. He always liked to have intense battles only then would he truely feel alive. Ofcourse he wasn't expecting any intense battles here, but he atleast could test his battle power a bit.
"After this test only 5 of you will get accepted into the sect."
"Only 5?" Most people already expected a number like this, but it was still shocking to the core. Out of 789 participants 5 could join.
"This sect surely only wants the best of the best... hehe, they are lucky for having me join I guess..." Feng Xing already took his spot for granted. He only saw people of the 5th Rank of the Tempering Path. This he could still manage, as long as the opponent wasn't of the 6th rank, nothing was a problem.
"First you all have to come and draw numbers. I'm sure the most of you have already figured out how this is gonna work." Cang Yang knew that these people weren't idiots so he didn't even bother to explain.

3 minutes later.
After everyone drew their numbers. They all looked at a list which indicated who fought who.
"Number 1 and 2 come and fight against each other using your best moves, don't hold back!" Cang Yang obviously wanted to see their true battle prowess.
Two youths came forward and fought a long battle. Although both of them were at the 5th Rank, one of them had a low tier Tempering Path battle skill so it was obvious that he would win.
Some of the youths were surprised at this, most of them had actually never seen a battle skill. They now knew how useful a battle skill actually was. It could actually turn the tides easily against someone of the same rank without a battle skill. They were envious now, Only the best clans had a few of them.
"Number 2, Liu Yan... I'll note this..." Cang Yang was a bit surprised to see a battle skill. He knew how rare it was in city's like Cloud City.
30 minutes later.
"Alright finishing up with Number 9 against Number 10."
"Finally my turn..." Feng Xing had been constantly waiting for this moment. He walked forward while another youth did the same. They looked at each other, slowly checking the other out.
"Start!" Cang Yang was finishing up now and actually didn't want to pay much attention after seeing them both, because it was obvious who would win. A 4th rank cultivator against a 5th rank. He already took for granted that the 4th rank cultivator would lose.
After the fight began, Feng Xing dodged all his opponents punches like usual, Cang Yang noticed this and was paying slightly more attention now.
"Number 9, Feng Xing, only at the 4th rank with this speed and battle sense?" Cang Yang knew that one could only dodge like this with immense battle experience, most youths didn't have this, so he was actually very surprised.
Feng Xing actually didn't care to much about this match. He was actually testing how fast his body was currently.
"My current speed would be considered at the peak of the 5th rank, this should be sufficient for now." Feng Xing seemed to be content with his current speed. He knew that unless his opponent had a middle tier Tempering Path battle skill, there would be nothing his opponent could do against him.
After a while his opponent slowly got tired of throwing punches. This was the moment Feng Xing would go all in. This caught his opponent of guard.
Pats!
A straight punch to the face!
Feng Xing's opponent fell unconscious, this was normal considering how much Energy Feng Xing put in that punch. It was atleast comparable to a punch of the peak of the 4th rank.
Cang Yang and the other youths didn't expect this outcome of the match...
"Ahem... the final results will now be shown on the list... based on your scores" Cang Yang didn't have much words for that much and decided to finish the 3rd test.
Feng Xing's name could be seen at the 3rd rank. He could of have been placed much higher if his talent was higher, but this didn't bother Feng Xing to much. He knew that he would slowly rise if given enough time.
First place : Liu Yan
Second place : Feng Lao
Third place : Feng Xing
Fourth place : Xu Feng
Fifth place : Wang You
"Feng Lao is actually second place." Feng Xing thought. He would surely pay more attention to him now.
Feng Yue unfortunately didn't make it, but that didn't bother Feng Xing at all.
"Alright, you 5 will be accepted as outer sect disciples!" Cang Yang now led them all to the entrance of the Moonfire Sect.
They all had shocked faces except for Feng Xing and Cang Yang, they all saw 3 huge mountains floating in the air while in the middle a moon appeared. The moon was huge and released huge amounts of True Energy. This energy would make cultivating much easier for the people gathering around it.
They all followed Cang Yang to the first mountain.
"This mountain is where all outer sect disciples are currently. You shall stay here until you become an inner sect disciple."
Cang Yang told them the basics of the mountain and what it's name was.
"This mountain is called Sunfire Mountain. Are there any questions?" Cang Yang asked.
None of them had questions currently. They all knew how a sect usually worked, and knew that only inner sect disciples would gain the right to be fully groomed by the sect.
"This will be first sect I join in this lifetime. I'll be sure to remember it well." Feng Xing now accomplished his first goal.
Feng Clan Mansion
"I can't actually believe it... my son actually got accepted!" Feng Kong was now ecstatic, but it still was weird...
"Hmm, has he been faking to be trash?"
"No, that can't be... he always told me he wanted to become stronger since young." Even though Feng Kong was very happy, he still didn't feel fully convinced.
"It's like he's a different person..."
"I'll look into this more after he gets out of the sect."
Feng Kong knew that all disciples would only be able to leave the sect after staying for a year atleast, only after that could they visit their own family.
