Chapter 15
******************Eva POV******************
Felix continued to prattle on about many different things, but I paid no attention to what he said. He finally stopped when the sun started going down and decided to walk me back to my room. I had the caged fairy in my hands while he walked quietly behind me until we reached my door. I opened it and stepped inside then turned around towards Felix.
Eva:"Well this is where I should say goodnight, but....."
I started closing the door, but he stopped it before it could latch. He shoved it open and came inside. I dropped the cage and almost fell over backwards from him forcing his way in so I yelled out at him.
Eva:"What do you think you're doing!"
Felix:"I'm just trying to spend some private time with my wife."
Eva:"We're not married nor are we going to be!"
Felix:"We will be married."
Eva:"I won't let it happen!"
He walked past me then reached out and grasped the collar of my dress. I felt a tug then a strong pull which caused me to fall and he began dragging me over to the bed.
Felix:"You don't a choice!"
He threw me onto the bed and began removing his clothes. Being tossed disoriented me for a minute, but once my mind caught up to what was happening he was almost completely undressed. He was surprisingly fast at undressing. I scurried over to the other side of my bed and opened my bedside table and pulled out a dagger I kept there. He jumped onto the bed wearing only his briefs and a white stone connected to a chain around his neck. He crept closer to me and I readied the dagger behind my back and I flashed him a smile when he was within arms reach. I plunged the dagger towards his heart, but he caught my wrist.
Felix:"A wife should be more obedient."
He squeezed my wrist until I couldn't take it any more and dropped the dagger. His other hand caught the dagger and he released my arm then climbed on top of me pinning both of my arms with his knees. He slapped me once across the face then again on the other side.
Felix:"You know I actually loved you. Your father tried to convince me that the elf had you under a love spell. I guess he doesn't want anyone to know how much of a whore his precious daughter is."
Eva:"Guards!!!!!"
He slapped me again then leaned in close to whisper into my ear.
Felix:"They won't be coming to help. Everything I'm doing was approved of by your father and your guards know exactly what's happening."
A feeling of terror permeated through my body and I began to tremble. You could hear a quiver in my voice as I started to cry.
Eva:"P-please d-don't."

Felix:"You spread your legs for that elf, but I'm not good enough?"
He slapped me again then pointed the blade towards my stomach. I felt it dig in a little then he started dragging it upwards. He slid the blade into the collar of my shirt and inched it down back towards the stomach. It easily cut through my dress, but he stopped after the tear reached just below my breasts. The neckline of my dress was brought down by the cut he just made, but I still wasn't exposed yet.
Felix:"This is more fun than I thought it would be."
I struggled, but he was far stronger than I was. He leaned in again and smelled me.
Felix:"Good. Seems you bathed today. I bet you wanted me to do this."
Something flew over my head and smashed into his crotch which caused him to fall over backwards off the bed.
Aria:"Thats what you get you fucking bastard!"
The fairy was hovering a few feet away. Apparently the cage door broke when I dropped it. She had thrown one of the boots that Felix had taken off. I immediately leapt out of the bed and ran towards my door while holding the top part of my dress up.
Aria:"Wait for me!"
The fairy followed me out of the room and I ran past my guards who didn't even try to stop me. Felix came barreling out of the room a few seconds after me.
Felix:"I'm gonna kill that fucking fairy!"
He was starting to catch up when one of the guards "accidentally" dropped his spear causing Felix to trip. Another one "accidentally" dropped his shield onto the fallen Felix which hit him right in the face. Most of these guards had been with me since childhood so I felt closer to them than some of my actual family members. They were probably ordered not to interfere, but it couldn't be helped if there was an "accident".
****************Becket POV****************
When I awoke I was curled up on a branch at the top of a tall tree with the sun high in the sky. I looked around and realized I was still in the forest. My shoes, shirt and cloak were gone leaving me wearing only a pair of pants. The pants weren't in very good condition so they kind of looked like torn up shorts. I was covered in a layer of dry blood and dirt that felt really uncomfortable. I checked on the condition of my body by bending each limb and taping my finger against the joints. It came as a surprise that I was completely healed. From my perch I could see a river close by so I decided to go wash off in it.
All of the blood, dirt and whatever else was on me came off fairly easily so I sat next to the river for a few minutes thinking. I didn't remember what happened after activating my primal sensing, but it appeared I was right. It was just a hunch, but I thought the animalistic instincts I felt while using primal sensing might save me. I was lost in thought, but pulled back by the sound of approaching footsteps so I jumped into a nearby tree.

Two silver knights came out of the forest and headed to the river to get something to drink. I jumped down from the tree and stealthily approached them from behind. I knocked them both to their knees then slammed their heads together. I undressed one of them and dropped their set of clothes and a pair of boots into the river to try and get the smell out. After they finally dried off I put them on and strapped two swords to my waist and two daggers. I had gotten use to dual wielding so fighting with one sword felt lacking. I was dressed in all black with a tight shirt and pants that would probably draw a lot of attention, but since they were meant to be worn under armor it couldn't be helped.
I thought about putting on the armor and pretending to be a knight, but I had smashed both of the helmets. I wouldn't be able to hide my face which was one of the most important parts of concealing yourself. The river flowed away from the city so I dumped the bodies of the two knights into it. These knights were likely patrolling here looking for me so finding their corpses would alert the others. Disposing of the bodies would at least buy me some time. In order to stay hidden I jumped through the trees like a monkey. I still hadn't taken any time to practice with my wings so I couldn't use them. There's no point in flying if I can't properly control it.
I past a few knights, but no one noticed me. I came across a young man wearing a grey cloak and holding an axe. He appeared to be a hunter. I easily knocked him out and took his cloak. I didn't kill him since he wasn't a knight. I was worried about the fact that I still felt some of the animalistic instincts which made me feel the urge to attack every time I saw a knight.
I scaled the side of the wall again to get into the city. I kept my hands on the two swords under my cloak while I made my way back to the inn. I kept my gaze down and hood up, but I had prior experience with a hoods lack of ability and new I had to get off the streets fast. I entered the inn and found an unfamiliar man at the counter.
Man:"Welcome."
I stood there.
Man:"Sir."
He moved out from behind the counter and approached me. I turned around so he couldn't see my face and he placed his hand on my shoulder. I grabbed it and flipped him over me then put his arm in a joint lock.
Becket:"Where's Gene?"
Man:"What are you doing!?"
I tightened my hold.
Becket:"I said where is Gene! If you don't answer me I'll snap this arm in half!"
Man:"I don't know what you're talking about!"
Becket:"Don't lie to me! You're wearing knight issued boots!"
When the man came out from behind the counter I noticed he was wearing the same kind of boots as the two knights I killed by the river. It was possible they just happen to have the same kind, but I was betting that these boots were a part of their uniform. I tightened even harder and you could hear the cracking of the joint in his arm.
Man:"Ok! Ok! He was arrested!"
Becket:"Where did they take him?"
Man:"He was thrown in a cell in the palace!"
Becket:"Was there anyone else here?"
Man:"A fairy!"
Becket:"Where is she?"
Man:"Count Felix took her!"
Becket:"Thanks."
I kept a grip on his arm and wrapped my legs around his neck then twisted. He frantically tried to escape, but after I heard the snap his body went limp. I drug his body to the back where I had originally found Gene being attacked by his wife and her lover. I left the inn and made my way through the bustling streets towards the palace. Going to the palace might not have been such a good idea, but my animalistic instincts that were still affecting me had me lusting for more blood. My defense was lacking a bit without my armor, but that just meant I'd be fine as long as I don't get hit.
I spent hours circling the palace in order to get a sense of where all the guards were located. I avoided the sight of all the knights by hiding in crowds. The sun was starting to go down when I found where the weakest point in their security was, but I waited a few minutes for a little more darkness before doing anything. I climbed the wall and found myself in a garden. While staying low I crept closer to a nearby entrance. I was forced to stop and lay flat on my stomach when several maids came out to a gazebo in the center of this garden and began removing stuff from the table.
I waited patiently while they completed their task.
Maid 1:"I feel sorry for the princess. And I thought he seemed like such a kind man before today."
Maid 2:"Thats what they're all like. If you don't listen than they teach you to."
They left just as fast as they came and I continued making my way towards the entrance. There were two entrances and they they looked completely different. One was a single wooden door with slightly rusted metal hinges and the other was a double door that was obviously made of a much finer quality wood with engravings on it. I assumed the single door was a servants entrance so I took that one.
Inside was a long narrow hallway that I followed all the way down and bumped right into someone.

HEIMDALLR
After his first life, Heimdallr felt he had lived a decent way; he wrote stories and lived a simple life, avoiding publicity and focused on promoting growth to the few who cherished his works. But after being reborn as Heimdallr Dagrsson, one of the many sons of Daesal's greatest warrior Dagr, he was put into a world devoid of wide-spread access to reading and writing. Instead, he was dropped into a world where fighting and death commonly reared their heads. Now, faced between his unsupported passion and his new life's innate talent and upbringing, he will have to find his new path. He will forge a new story that would make even himself dubious of whether or not it's fact or fable. HEIMDALLR is a story taking place in the setting created for another previous work of mine called KOBOLD. It follows a reincarnated person trying to wrestle between their old life and new life's wants and needs, all the while adapting to the situations that arise out of his control. Heimdallr starts out trying to survive and live a new life, all the while facing challenges and growth both fantastical and painfully real. Loosely inspired by Norse mythology and histories (names and some themes), spun into a fantasy, grit-rooted world. Skål!
