Chapter 14

One of the knights grabbed my arm which caused pain to shoot through my body and he started dragging me. I could only think of one thing to do so I activated primal sensing and let my instincts take over.

******************Aelisia POV****************

I was bored so I went to the throne room. No one was around so I sat down on the throne.

Aelisia:"This chair is really uncomfortable."

I hopped out of it and walked towards the door.

Aelisia:"Maybe the knights are doing something interesting."

Before I got to the door it swung open.

Felix:"My king! I've captured the criminal who attacked my darling Eva."

He stopped when he saw me.

Aelisia:"He's not here."

Felix:"Warlord Aelisia. I didn't know you were in this city."

Aelisia:"Been here for a while."

Felix:"Where is my king?"

Aelisia:"Dunno."

He looked a little agitated at my answer. Some other knights followed him in.

Felix:"Inform the king I'm here."

Knights:"Yes sir!"

They ran off in search of the king.

Aelisia:"So you found that elf man?"

Felix:"I found him and broke him."

Aelisia:"Oh. You sound so tough."

I was mocking him, but he didn't seem to realize.

Felix:"Thank you my lady."

Aelisia:"So how did you find him?"

Felix:"He joined the adventurers guild. They were given his name after he assaulted the princess so once he showed up there they sent word to the palace. I was lucky enough to receive the message first so I acted quickly to capture him."

Aelisia:"How much of a fight did he put up?"

Felix:"He landed one hit."

He gestured to his wrapped hand.

Felix:"He was lucky I went easy on him."

Aelisia:"So you were the only one to fight him?"

Felix:"....No."

Aelisia:"Who else?"

Felix:"A few of the knights."

Aelisia:"How many did he kill?"

Felix:"Well........"

Two knights came running into the room covered in blood.

Knight 1:"S-sir!"

Felix:"What is it!"

Knight 1:"Becket escaped."

Felix pulled out his sword and pointed it to one of the knights throat. His face was distorted in anger.

Felix:"How?"

Knight 1:"After you left he went mad. He started growling and pounced on one of the knights and tour his throat out with his teeth."

Felix:"Bring me to him! I'll kill him this time!"

Knight 1:"We lost track of him."

Felix pushed his sword through the knights throat. The knight wasn't even able to let out a whimper before dying.

Felix:"Find him."

Knight 2:"Y-yes sir!"

He quickly saluted before running off.

Aelisia:"I guess you didn't get him after all."

He glared at me then turned around and walked out of the throne room.

Aelisia:"Hm. He seemed a little angry."

I strolled out of the throne room and made my way towards the palace baths. I undressed and placed my sword on top of my clothes. I wasn't suppose to be in here since it was the royal bath house, but this was the most comfortable place to bathe so it couldn't be helped. It was a huge indoor bath made of stone with three fountains on the side of the wall shaped like a lions head.

I entered and noticed someone was already in here. A young woman with black hair that went all the way down her back.

Eva:"Warlord Aelisia. You know you'll get in trouble if you're caught in here."

Aelisia:"I know."

I walked over to the water and stepped in. It was warm and helped soothe my bones.

Aelisia:"This bath is the only good part of being here. Where are your maids and guards?"

Eva:"Guarding my room. They still don't know I sneak out of my room sometimes so they probably haven't realized I'm gone."

Eva dipped her head under the water to get the soap out of her hair then came back up and pushed her hair back.

Aelisia:"Oh yeah that elf man of yours has apparently gone mad."

Eva:"I know he'll be fine, but what happened?"

Aelisia:"Your betrothed Sir Felix attacked him. The elf killed a lot of his men then after Felix left he killed even more. One of the knights said he was growling and eating people's throats."

Eva:"If they keep attacking him it's only going to end badly. Don't they see how powerful he is."

Aelisia:"Your father and that boy Felix will chase him until one of them is dead."

Eva:"Can't you do something?"

Aelisia:"Are you asking a knight holding the rank of Warlord to defy his king?"

Eva:"No I'm asking you to listen to the request of your princess."

Aelisia:"What is your request exactly?"

Eva:"Kill Felix. How dare he attack my love."

Aelisia:"Thats a pretty serious request. Are you sure this elf is worth it?"

Eva:"Of course he is. He's the man I'll be marrying. Isn't it your job to eliminate any threats to your future king."

Aelisia:"Felix is the one you're officially engaged to."

Eva:"That doesn't change the fact that I'll be marrying Becket."

Aelisia:"Your father won't allow it."

Eva:"Then I'll need you to help me with him too."

We sat in total silence for a few minutes.

Aelisia:"I'll consider your request."

Eva:"Thank you."

Eva finished up and left first. Once I was alone I let out a sigh.

Aelisia:"So she wants me to be the leader of a rebellion. I wonder if Gideon's found anything on those vampires yet."

****************Felix POV***************

He escaped. That wretched elf slipped through my fingers. I've searched the entire forest around the dungeon, but found nothing so I returned to the city. My knights compiled all of the reported sightings of him from before the guild informed us of him registering. Most of the sightings were in the same area so I sent knights to every inn around there to arrested all of the owners. I was currently sitting in a tavern that I had taken over to use as a base of operations in this district. One knight entered holding a cage covered with a blanket.

Knight:"Sir!"

Felix:"What?"

Knight:"We found something at one of the inns."

Felix:"What is it?"

The knight got a few steps closer and pulled the blanket off the cage.

Aria:"I fucking hate these cages!"

Felix:"A fairy!"

Knight:"Yes sir."

I slid my finger through the bars to poke the fairy.

Felix:"Aahh!"

I pulled my finger back and stuck it in my mouth. She bit me.

Knight:"She's a vicious one sir."

Felix:"That bitch."

I took the cage from the knight and shook it. She rattled around in it until she passed out.

Felix:"Good. I'll keep her."

*She'll make a great gift to my beloved.*

Knight:"Um.....sir there's something I have to report."

Felix:"What is it?"

Knight:"She killed two rookie knights."

Felix:"If a knight could be killed by such a small creature then they deserved to die."

Knight:"Also I believe the inn where we found the fairy is the same one that Becket stayed at."

Felix:"And why is that?"

Knight:"We have eye witnesses that say they saw the inns owner out drinking with an elf."

Felix:"Where is the owner now?"

Knight:"We have him shackled outside sir."

Felix:"Have you interrogated him?"

Knight:"We have sir, but he's told us nothing."

Felix:"Take him back to the palace and throw him in a cell with no windows. No food and water. Maybe he'll talk after a few days."

Knight:"Yes sir."

The knight left the tent and another entered.

Felix:"Garett, I'm leaving you in command. I'll be going to see my betrothed."

Garett:"Very well sir."

I walked past him and left the tent with the cage in hand. My horse was brought to me by a rookie knight then I headed straight for the palace. As soon as I got here I received word of Becket so I hadn't met with Princess Eva yet. I could only imagine the state she's in after being attacked by that elf. What angered me more than anything else was that he had lain with her and stolen her maidenhood before I did.

Once I got to the palace I finally found the king on his way to the throne room. He was accompanied by his royal guard and several maids. He had just returned from the palace barber and looked better than usual. It was obvious that he was trying to look good for some reason. I saluted him.

Felix:"My king."

King Francis:"What is it Felix? I'm busy today. My wife the queen is returning so I need to be ready."

Felix:"My king we are getting close to capturing the criminal Becket. If it was not for an incompetent knight we would already have him."

The king stopped walking.

King Francis:"I want him captured as soon as possible. His mutilated corpse would be a good present for my wife's return. I'll put his body in the center of this city to warn others that no man can touch my daughter with out my permission."

Felix:"My men will find him soon my king. I've returned for a rest an to see my beloved Eva."

King Francis:"Send a message to Princess Eva telling her to meet Count Felix for some tea in the garden."

Maid:"Yes sir."

One of the maids rushed off to find the princess.

Felix:"Thank you sir. I'll go to the garden immediately and wait in anticipation."

I turned to leave.

King Francis:"Wait!"

I halted my walk and turned back around.

Felix:"Yes my king."

King Francis:"I trust that you still plan to marry my daughter even without her maidenhood."

Felix:"Of course my king."

King Francis:"Also that elf used some kind of magic on her to imprison her mind. She's enslaved to him so you'll have to free her. Do whatever it takes even if it requires nightly sessions."

Felix:"Yes my king."

King Francis:"We will have your wedding soon so no reason to hold yourself back. You should consider the two of you already married."

Felix:"I will my king."

The king headed off to finish getting ready and I made my way to the garden. The garden was a set of rings filled with all kinds of flowers and in the center of all the rings was a white gazebo. A stone pathway cut through all the rings and led to the gazebo and inside of it was a white table with four chairs. I took one of the seats and maids began to set the table with sweets and different teas. Eva finally appeared after an hour.

Eva:"Hello Count Felix."

She took a seat across from me and a maid poured her some tea. I had mine refreshed and took a few sips.

Felix:"It's been to long since I last saw your face."

Eva:"And it hasn't been long enough for me."

I ignored her, but a vein popped out on my head.

Felix:"I missed you my dear. Your father says we'll be getting married soon."

Eva:"No. I will be marrying Becket."

Hearing her say that pissed me off even more.

Felix:"Don't worry you will soon forget about him."

Eva:"You expect me to forget him and what.......think about you?"

Felix:"Of course my beloved. We are going to be husband and wife after all."

Eva:"I'll never accept you as my husband."

I stood up.

Felix:"Then I'll make you accept me."

Eva:"I've already accepted the man I love and you'll never compare to him."

I slapped her out of her chair.

Felix:"You will be silent now!"

She was on the ground with a hand on her cheek while glaring up at me. One of the maids picked up her chair then helped her off the ground and back into it. I sat back down in my chair.

Felix:"That pained me just as much as it did you. I did not want to hit you, but you left me with no other choice."

She just continued to glare at me with her hand placed against her cheek.

Felix:"Oh yes. I just remembered I got you a present."

I snapped my fingers towards one of the maids who quickly brought the bird cage over and placed it on the table. The fairy was still unconscious.

Felix:"This is for you. It's a fairy."

She just looked at it without saying anything.

Felix:"You can speak now."

Eva:"Did you hit her too?"

Felix:"No but be careful not to open the cage. She's violent."

For the next hour we continued to talk while drinking tea. Actually I talked while she mostly ignored me.
